Chapter 54 I want to marry you
As the day went by, Zeke spent his time drinking blood tea in Lord Raphael's mansion. He slept in one of the guest rooms, spending the night there. Lord Raphael was pleased that Ezekiel got to spend a little time with him. He could see that the boy was devastated and his thirst for blood grew stronger. He was happy he vented his hunger on the blood tea instead of the humans in his mansion. The last thing Lord Raphael wanted to hear was that the girl was dead. Simon sent a message saying the human girl in Ezekiel's mansion was actually Anna, the one they were searching for.
It was good news they found her. He had heard a lot about that girl. People said that she was still interesting and fighting. He wanted her to be a councilwoman under him. He wanted to talk about it to Ezekiel, but this wasn't the right time.
The next morning, Ezekiel woke up. The bright sunlight collided with his face, making him shift. Sitting up on the bed, his eyes darted around the room. Seeing he was in Lord Raphael's mansion, he shook his head in disbelief.
“Impossible,”he mumbled to himself. “How can I sleep this much?” He hastily stood up from the bed and ran towards the door. Leaving the room, he went downstairs to see Lord Raphael having breakfast peacefully.
“Hey, my boy, good morning.”
“Why didn't you wake me up?”Ezekiel questioned. “Why?”
“You were tired,”replied Lord Raphael with a smile. Ezekiel put his hand on his head, running his fingers harshly through his hair.
“Seriously?Raphael, you always do this,” he said, fully descending the stairs.
“Hey!Stay for breakfast at least!” Lord Raphael pleaded.
“Fuck your old dick,”Ezekiel replied as he ran to the main entrance of the mansion. Once he was outside, he began looking for his coachman.
As expected,the coachman was already waiting for him in front of the carriage.
“Let's go!Immediately!” he ordered. The coachman got into the carriage, and so did Ezekiel, and in no time they were already on the road.
“Move this horse pretty fast. I don't have time for this.” His spirit was very impatient as he spoke. He had made a huge mistake. He should've landed a good punch on Lord Raphael's face before he left.
He shook his head in regret.
“Why didn't you wake me up last night?”he asked the coachman.
“Lord Raphael didn't allow me.He said he wanted you to get some rest,” the coachman replied.
“Damnit!That man. I'll be the one to send him to his early grave to get some rest!” Ezekiel gritted his teeth, boiling with fury.
After some time,they arrived at the Donovan mansion. Ezekiel didn't wait for the carriage to completely stop. He went into the house in haste, running upstairs to check if the girl was still there. Swinging her door open, he saw her still sleeping peacefully.
Breathing out in relief,he went back to his room to freshen up. He wondered why he was feeling scared and insecure. He greatly hated himself for that.
After he was done with his bath, he went to his study to read when Evan came inside.
“Good morning,Master Ezekiel,” Evan greeted, surprised to see him here.
Ezekiel lifted his head from what he was reading.
“Did you have breakfast?”Seeing her nod her head, he bent his head back to what he was reading.
“Need something?”he asked.
“Haha,actually I came to get a book. I was done reading the last boo…”
“Who asked you to get books from my study?This place is supposed to be private,” he lied, trying to get a reaction out of her.
“Wha?I-I'm… so sorry, I didn't know,” Evan stammered, trying to find the right words to apologize.
“I'll leave now,”she informed him, her hands turning sweaty.
Seeing him indicate with two fingers for her to come made her eyes widen.
“Huh?”She got confused. Seeing him repeat the signal, she had no choice but to walk inside. When she reached where he was sitting, she stopped.
“Can I sit there?”Seeing him nod, she gave him a warm smile as she sat next to him.
“Tell me something,Anna. Why do you love reading books about these creatures? You're a human, after all,” he asked as he waited for her answer.
“Because I want to learn more and get more knowledge about other creatures.That way I can defend myself.”
“Hmm.”
“And defend my people as well.”This one made Zeke chuckle.
“People?” he asked the girl, only to see her attention glued to the book on the table.
“Yes,”she replied, her eyes still fixed on the book.
His thoughts started wandering,wondering which people she was talking about. Was it humans or white witches?
“Humans or white witches?”he asked, curious that this girl was Anna.
“Both,”she replied. Lifting her head up, her eyes met Zeke's own. She held his gaze for a bit but couldn't handle the intensity, so she averted her gaze, looking back to the book she was reading.
“How did you start walking with the witches?”he asked the girl, whose eyes were completely fixed on the book.
“Hmm, they took me in when I was a kid,” she lied.
“Impressive,”said Ezekiel as he closed the book the girl was reading, making her look at him.
“I am talking to you,”he said, wearing a stern expression.
“Apologies,milord,” Evan replied, flipping the book open to the page where she was reading.
This girl is totally unstoppable!he thought to himself. Evan didn't give a damn about what he was thinking at this moment. Her attention was absorbed by what she was reading.
It was another species of witches, called the dark witch. Evan was curious and mystified about it. She couldn't stop reading. Seeing how interested Evan was in the new discovery, Ezekiel decided to just watch her and say nothing at all. She looked so beautiful. Her thick brows furrowed as she stared at the book. Her curiosity grew greater as she read ahead.
It read that a black witch was formed when a dark witch and a white witch mated. And then the black witches exterminated the dark witches. It stated that the dark witches were very rare to find and are the most powerful witches.
“I want to marry you,”Ezekiel said out of the blue, bringing her back to reality.
