Chapter 42 He is everywhere!!
A few minutes later, Lady Rebecca came into the room with the yellow bunny in her hand. She then handed it to Evan, who immediately accepted it.
“My apologies,I thought the rabbit was useless,” Lady Rebecca apologized.
“It's fine.We all make mistakes,” Evan gave a slight smile. Afterwards, Lady Rebecca kindly walked out of the room, leaving Ella and Evan.
“How dare she think I'm useless! She is the useless one,” Brody gritted his teeth. Ella watched the rabbit closely in Evan's hand as if she were watching a movie.
“I wish I could get you out of this bunny so you can go home.”Upon hearing Evan’s words, the rabbit’s immovable eyes popped up in shock.
“You can't get me out?”Brody asked.
“She can't.You'll stay here for eternity,” Ella mocked. This must have made the rabbit angrier, though Evan and Ella couldn't see his expression.
Evan placed the rabbit down on the bed as she lay down beside it.Ella was sitting on the other end of the bed, observing the bunny closely.
“Why are you looking at me that way?Are you now in love with m…”
He stopped halfway due to the glare Ella sent him.
“Even without seeing your face, I can only imagine your expression,” Evan said, smiling at the ceiling she was staring at.
“This rabbit is super annoying,”Ella sneered at the rabbit, shaking her head in disgust.
Instead of getting angry, the girl giggled within.
“Oh yeah.At least I have a super power,” said the rabbit excitedly.
“By the way, what should we do about the incident concerning Ezekiel? I found out he is also looking for you, I mean Anna,” Ella informed.
“True?” asked Evan, shocked by the info. “Is Ezekiel truly looking for me?” she said, sitting up.
“Yes,he is, dear. And we need to get to work as reverend sisters, you know,” Ella informed. “And yes, vampires do come to churches to seek white witches.”
“Ella, are you serious? Do you mean vampires also come to this church?” Evan asked, her mind deep in wonderment.
“What if they happen to k…”
“Don't forget your place, dear. You're no white witch, so when they investigate, they'll find nothing. After all, they described Anna to Ezekiel as a white witch.”
Isabella was a skilled witch, and it wasn't difficult to find out what the vampires were plotting. She could watch their activities through crystal balls.
“I know I'm not a white witch. It's relaxing that I'm not, so the vampires won't get their hands on me quickly.”
“Will I also be a reverend sister?”asked Evan. She never dreamed of being in a church, let alone being a reverend sister.
It was already noon, and the outside world was bustling outside. Evan hadn't truly seen the church hall.
“Can we go take a walk?”she asked Ella, who stood up ready to leave.
“So Ezekiel is in search of you,”the bunny finally spoke. He had been in shock after hearing that Ezekiel (his worst enemy at the moment) is currently looking for Evan.
“Yes,”Evan replied sooner than expected. “And not only him. Duke Zeries as well,” she informed the rabbit, getting up from the bed and trailing after Isabella with the bunny in her hand.
“Oh no!Duke Ezekiel and Duke Zeries are sworn enemies,” Brody exclaimed.
“What? What does that mean?” asked Evan.
“Dear, you need to change,” Ella spun around as she looked at Evan's short dress. Sighing, she handed the rabbit to Isabella, who went outside the room. Though no one could hear the bunny speak except Evan. The reason why Isabella could hear him was because she and Evan shared something in common.
Evan always made Ella believe she had bad taste when it comes to dressing.Ella had to do a lot, like a mother hen teaching Evan how to eat or behave like a lady. Their bond had gotten too close, making them more fluent with each other.
Evan changed into the dress she saw inside the wardrobe in the far corner of the room.
It was a green long dress covering her knees. The design of the dress was in steps, green in color. It had green low-heeled shoes. What was more annoying about it was that it had a turban hat, making Evan curse under her breath.
She went outside the room to catch up with Ella and Brody, who were busy chatting about something Evan couldn't predict. She walked towards them like a queen, holding the body of her skirt-like gown, making sure it didn't sweep the floor.
“You look good,”Ella complimented, dropping the topic she and Brody were talking about.
“Thanks. You've been here for quite a while, and I'd love it if we go on a little tour.”
“Oh,Evan. It's nothing. Now come on, let's get moving.”
They walked out of the corridors, passing through the passage leading to the church hall.
The audience seats were arranged but empty,if not scanty. Evan's eyes landed on a boy who was opposite the altar. She saw an old elderly man in his fifties. He was standing, looking at a girl who was sitting down on one of the chairs, saying something Evan's ears couldn't completely register. But tears streamed down her cheeks.
The man in front of her was wearing pure white garments.
“Why is that girl crying?” Evan asked Isabella.
“Did that man hurt her?”
“No,dear. He is a priest, and he is carefully listening to the girl’s confession about all the sins she has committed,” explained Ella.
“I see,”Evan nodded in agreement.
They both walked past them, moving straight to the audience chairs.
“It feels warm here,”confessed Evan.
“Yes,dear,” Isabella replied. All this while, the bunny didn't say anything, afraid that someone might hear.
Many reverend sisters were sitting as they attended to various people confessing their sins. They both went on, taking a seat at the back of the hall. Moments passed by as they both enjoyed the peaceful moment, until someone entered the church. His presence was enough to make everyone's eyes glue to him. It was him, none other than the ruthless pureblooded vampire. The fourth duke: Ezekiel.
The hair on Evan's neck stood up at just a glance at him.
“Damn.He is everywhere!!”
