Chapter 39 The church

Chapter 39 The church

Evan sent Ella a blazing glare, making the rabbit in Ella's hand laugh out. Then Ella passed the glare down to the bunny rabbit.
“What is your problem, kid? You talking rabbit status!” Ella insulted the rabbit.
“How dare you insult me? Do you know who I am? I am b—” Brody was cut by Ella.
“Like I said before, you're nothing but a rabbit! No one loves you,” she said, tightening her grip on the rabbit, making it roar in pain.
“You moron! I'll kill you when I am out of here. I'll make sure my first son rides you on his bed like a horse,” the rabbit scoffed. Evan let out a laugh at the rabbit’s words.
“Hahaha! How many women has your son ridden on bed?” asked Evan with a wide grin on her face.
Before the rabbit could open its uncomfortable mouth to speak, Ella cut in.
“I hope your son already has children, given how many women he has ridden on bed.”
“Yes, I am a grandfather. And you'll give birth to my grandchild as well.”
Ella twisted her face, sending a hard knock on the rabbit’s head with her hand. It was so loud that Evan herself felt a pang of pity for the rabbit.
“Ahhhhhh!!” the rabbit groaned in pain. Evan switched the rabbit back from Ella.
“My queen, I've heard enough. He is mine. That's why I came back for him,” said Evan, hugging the rabbit as if it were the most important thing in the world at this point. Hearing that the girl came back for him because she loved him made the rabbit’s nonexistent heart soften.
Then his mind drifted to her last words.
‘Huh? She is a queen?’ the rabbit thought within.
His unmovable eyeballs gave Ella a glance. He stared at her a bit longer than he expected.
‘Wow, she is really beautiful! The queen of witches,’ the rabbit praised the witch queen.
“We need to go in now!” Ella said, half biting her words, interrupting the wonderful moment the bunny rabbit and Evan were having.
Pulling away from the hug, Evan glared at Ella.
“I don’t quite understand. Why are we going into the church? What will we gain? Plus, your hair is gray, and it’s so rare and strange.” Ella nodded at Evan’s words as if agreeing with her.
“You're right. But I already have a plan.”
“You have a plan? Wait, that means you were planning on coming to this place without informing me?” Evan set her lips in a thin line.
“It was urgent,” replied Ella, and before Evan could lift her hand to reply, Ella chanted a spell under her breath and immediately transformed into a young beautiful lady. She had sleek blonde hair. Her pink lips puffed up, looking kissable. Brody swallowed hard. If he were human, his lips could've touched hers, sucking it hard to the hottest.
‘How can the lips taste this good?’ said the bunny rabbit in his mind as if he had already tested it.
‘But I love the queen's elegant features more,’ Brody added. Evan, since his eyes first collided with Ella’s, had his gaze descend down to her lips, and he had been salivating nonexistent silver since then, holding his urge to tell the girl to kiss his bunny lips.
“You look good,” Evan complimented. She used the back of her hand to brush the strand of hair from Ella’s face.
“Haha, don’t mock me,” Ella said, swatting Evan’s hand off her face.
“Now let’s go, dear,” said Evan, her face as stern as a woman about to go into battle.
“Evan? Have you forgotten that you also need to be in disguise?” Ella reminded, making Evan halt. Evan smiled as she leaned all the weight of her body on the carriage they were leaning on.
“Haha, I forgot. Do the needful, my queen,” said Evan. She subconsciously caressed her cheeks with her hands.
That was when she remembered—she hadn’t really seen her real grown-up, twenty-two-year-old self.
Blinking multiple times, her jaw fell open. Realizing what was happening, Ella created a magical mirror with her hand. It looked more like a portal.
Evan quickly looked into it, seeing her reflection on the portal-like mirror.
Her breath caught in her throat just staring at herself. She was dumbstruck.
Her hazel eyes were sparkling. Though the sun wasn’t even glowing, but… damn! She looked good. Her face wasn’t as innocent as before. She could tell she had changed—just this six years into a grown-up adult.
She lifted up her trembling hands, touching her face in awe.
“How do you feel?” Ella asked. Evan didn’t have any words to describe how she was actually feeling about her new self.
“There is no time to imagine, dear,” added Ella, and just like that, she chanted a spell, transforming Evan into a different person. Though it wasn’t as ugly as how the old Anna looked, this time she had black short hair and beautiful pure black eyes.
“Let’s go.” Holding Evan’s hand, they both disappeared into thin air. Though Evan had the ability to disappear as well, it was something learned by reading spells, and it usually took a lot of soul energy before she could actually disappear or cast a spell.
They both appeared inside the church in a small room where spells were normally kept. The door of the room immediately swung open, and a girl came out.
“Who is there?” asked the girl. As if feeling a very strong aura, she fell to her knees.
“My queen!” the girl greeted. She was a white witch—her eyes as brown and as pure as her heart.
Ella immediately rushed up to her, helping her up.
“Please don’t act that way, dear.” Meanwhile, Evan had no business with that. Her attention was absorbed by the potions arranged respectfully on the shelves that were lined up. She walked closer to them. Taking one in her palms, she observed it closely. It was a little bottle, green in color.
“That potion is meant for killing vampires. Why is it in here?” asked Ella, making the bo
ttle slip and fall, scattering into pieces.
