Chapter 15 Make me some blood tea

Chapter 15 Make me some blood tea
Evan was now back home. Not only did Ezekiel hug her almost all day, he made her massage his legs and his hands. Evan was mystified by his act.

Today there was a tea party hosted at the Donovan mansion. Evan frowned. The Donovan mansion never stopped hosting celebrations, even when it was not important. Ella, the pureblooded elite families, usually did that. Some said that they just wanted to show off money and influence, but the truth was they wanted to keep their respect in society so they could invite a councilman or a duke to have a little tea party. Different influential families were invited.

“Pfft, I hate it here,” Evan gritted her teeth as the words came out of her mouth.
“Did I hear you say something?”the housekeeper asked. He was passing by to get some cups for the tea party. It was in the sitting room of the mansion, beautifully designed and grand. The table was set and decorated.
There were two elite families present, with the Donovan family making it a total of three. They talked and chatted, asking questions, both less important and important. The women were busy gossiping about society and stuff.
“Ezekiel dear, have you picked a bride? This age is most suitable for marriage, dear,” one of Zeke's aunts said, making Ezekiel turn his face to a corner.
“Hmm,I have been thinking about that lately,” another person added. Zeke didn't want to come to the dinner table in the first place because there was usually drama.
“My son, they're all right. You need to find a lady who can love you. And I have someone in mind who can do just that,” his mother said, averting Ezekiel's gaze.

“I don't want to marry at the moment,” he declared firmly.
“My son!Don't say such a thing! Marriage is a good thing.”
“Yes,it is, but I am still young. Let me choose who I marry.”
“Ezekiel, come on, you might be a duke now, but that doesn't change the fact that I am still your sweet aunt. Listen to me,” his aunt advised. She was a bit closer to Zeke as she visited him regularly back when he was living with Lord Raphael.
He pretended she usually visited to check up on him,but the truth was clear. She was interested in Lord Raphael, but sadly the lord never glanced at her, not even once.
“You said marriage is important;I agree, so I need to choose, and I'll do that when I'm ready.”
“So you'd choose that maid girl? Not happening, not when I'm alive,” his mother sneered. He just sighed; there was nothing even interesting at this table. He just wanted to go to his pet.

“So you're in love with that maid girl? Hilarious! Sister, why not just kill the savant girl?” his aunt suggested, and he sent her a glare, making her shut her mouth immediately. Sometimes Ezekiel didn't bother replying to some unreasonable sentences; his scary gray eyes did the job correctly.
His eyes weren't just any normal gray eyes;something in them stirred dangerously. They were undeniably scary, and when he glared at you with them, it was enough to send a chill down one's spine.

A maid came to drop off a drink, and he immediately called for the maid's attention. He instructed her to call Evan, making everyone at the table gasp. Ezekiel didn't mind others' thoughts as they were meaningless to him. He only cared about his desires.
“Ezekiel dear, you've used so many years, and it took a lot of hard work before getting where you are. You can't just throw it away for a savant.”
“Mother, enough!” He wasn't too happy about Evan being a maid, but it had to stick for the time being.

He was waiting for the right time before he could make her a full lady.
A young boy with blonde hair and red lips ran towards Ezekiel;he hugged Ezekiel's legs as he smiled. He was overjoyed for some reason that Ezekiel couldn't fathom. After all, he wasn't good with kids, mostly because they were annoying and he got angry quickly.
Moreover, there was no parent who wanted to see their children near where Ezekiel was. He had a dangerous title.

“Duke Ezekiel, I wanna be like you when I grow up,” the boy muttered with his tiny voice, making Ezekiel smile. His mother was shocked by the smile on Zeke's face. It was surprising, as he rarely smiled at children ever since that incident happened to his little sister.
“Mickey? What is wrong with you?” the boy's mother came, pulling the child away from the duke.
“Stay away from him;he is dangerous,” she whispered into her child's ear as she took him back to his seat.

Hearing that, Ezekiel felt bad for the first time. He had heard that multiple times, but none touched his heart like this one. This could only mean one thing: he was bad indeed. Yes, he knew that, but hearing it told to that boy who just hugged him was like a sharp sword being pierced into his chest, and he wondered why he felt that way.

Suddenly, Evan appeared. She was in her maid attire, and Ezekiel hated seeing her in that. She bowed her head in a sign of respect towards the vampires. She was just a lowly human in front of them.
“Come sit with me,my pet,” the words left Ezekiel's mouth like ABC.
“Are you kidding me?”his mother said as she angrily stood up. “She won't dare sit at this table, a lowly maid.”
“She is my pet.”
“When have you ever heard that someone took a real-life person as a pet? What is wrong with you, my son?” She poured a full cup of tea on Evan, making Evan gasp; she immediately covered her mouth.

“This house belongs to my husband, so I'll make the rules!” Her voice was louder than Evan expected. Young people of her age were present at the table, and she felt slightly embarrassed. She wanted to run back to the savant's basement, but Ezekiel was fast. He stood up, gripped her hand, and took her upstairs.
They both went to Ezekiel's room. When they were there, Ezekiel told the housekeeper to call Olivia. Olivia was the one who fully dressed Evan in something clean and new, but it wasn't a maid attire.
Right now,she sat in the single armchair that was inside the room while Ezekiel was facing the other end, reading a book Evan had little to no idea about.

Her mind drifted to Isabella, and she wondered if she was doing okay. Life was just moving so quickly. Everything was unfolding quickly. Sooner or later, Isabella would gather solid evidence of who her true family was. Ever since Ezekiel found her, she regretted not asking Isabella how she knew and found her.

“My pet, come please,” she heard Ezekiel's voice and was irritated enough to slap his face. She stood up and went to the duke, who dropped the book he was reading.
“Would you want to visit a supermarket?”he asked. He just wanted to do something that would make the girl happy. A smile threatened to form on Evan's cheeks, but she held it in, making the duke chuckle.
“Fine, you can go continue what you were doing. I'll fix a date so we could go together.” Just like that, she left back to where she was sitting.

“What a weird duke, I didn't even say yes, pfft,” she mumbled under her breath, forgetting vampires are very sensitive in hearing.
Ezekiel just chuckled at her words.
“My pet, make me some bloodtea please.” Her eyes flew open at his words. Huh? What is this man thinking?

She never knew how bloodtea was made, nor did she have any interest in learning how it was made. But of course, this duke would make her do a lot of things that she wasn't supposed to. Without complaining, she went downstairs to make bloodtea for the almighty Ezekiel. When she got there, everywhere was as quiet as a graveyard. The tea party had ended, and everyone had gone back home. She slipped into the kitchen, searching the cupboard; she found the dry powder blood. Taking a glass, she slipped a quantity into it. Taking five cubes of sugar and seven teaspoons of milk, she added them to the mixture.

She mixed it evenly until the flavor filled the room. She put everything away, and taking the bloodtea with her, she left. She wasn't with a candlelight because everywhere was properly candlelit.
Reaching the room, she opened his door and slipped into it. She walked towards Ezekiel and handed him the bloodtea she had made.
Ezekiel's expression was solemn as he took it from her.He took a sip from the bloodtea, and as soon as his lips touched it, he glanced up, looking at the girl.
He knew this was going to happen anyway.

“Is this bloodtea or blood sugar?”
