Chapter 38 38

Chapter 38 38
Kimberly’s POV

“Come on now. Don’t be like that. We are partners you know. Don’t be hard on me.” He said with a puppy dog expression on his face. The whole thing was fake and I knew it.

I glanced at Julian to see what he was doing, but he only looked bored out of this world. I wanted to know the dynamic between the two of them. I’ve heard that they used to be friends before. God knew for how long because they looked like they would kill each other if left alone sometimes.

He was scrolling on his phone, sipping on probably water that was in a blue Stanley cup that he always carried around with him. Which was weird and it contradicts his whole bad boy aura in a kind of cute way.

“What? He’s not going to kick me away. He does not have the guts to.” London said as if he knew what was going on in my head.

“I’ll ask you for the last time, what do you want London? I did not ask for you to be here, you know.” I told him.

“You don’t have to ask for my baby. I’ll always be here and you know it.” He was pulling my leg.

“I’m not your baby.”

“Watch it.”

Julian and I said simultaneously and that made London look at both of us before he burst out into a fit of laughter like anything that was said was in any way funny.

Julian had this cold and mad look on his face that was almost like a madman’s but then, almost immediately it disappeared and he continued staring at his phone which was new by the way. After the saga that happened where he had broken his phone by himself. I found that I did not even ask him why. But deep down, I think I knew why.

“You’re both hilarious. And if I did not know any better, I would say that you both fit each other but I actually know better.” The last part of the statement made my skin crawl a bit because I knew what that meant.

We were back to the root of both of them, with Julian hiding something from me and London not saying what it is but he knew it.

“Drop it London. You don’t want to get hurt now do you? I can make arrangements for that and you know it.” Julian said to him. And why did I feel like that was a subtle kind of threat that he was making to London?

“You can’t do shit Julian.” He growled.

“How about we wait and see?” Julian said with the calmness that irked me, as if he did not just threaten London right now. There were a lot of pages about this guy that I do not know. Do I even know him at all?

“Wait and see what?” Another person sat on the last chair which made everyone complete now. It was Sandy. And I could suddenly feel the hair on my neck start to rise.

I touched my neck and I could feel the sharpness of the whole thing and that scared the shit out of me.

“What are you doing here witch? Your presence is not needed here.” It was London that fired at her while Julian just nodded in greeting towards her.

“Don’t be harsh now dear friend. What makes you think I’m here for you? That era has ended, right?” She asked with a sick smile on her face and I wanted to blanch. I never thought I would be this scared of my gender before. The lady scared the shit out of me and London was just like something that did not matter beside her.

And she said something like friend. Were they all friends in the past? I thought to myself as I bit into my sandwich. It tasted like shit but I had to eat it anyway. I’m not supposed to be hungry.

Apparently, if I’m hungry, it gives me a pounding headache that allows my heart to beat faster so I can’t suddenly say I want to go on a hunger strike or maybe I do not feel like eating. It would make me die faster and earlier than I had planned for myself.

“I’m here for Kimberly here. We are friends now right?” She turned her head to face me with that smile again and I choked. Literally.

I was coughing trying to down what was already in my throat so as not to spew it back up. I reached for the water that was on my tray. My eyes were watering.

“Don’t fucking touch her.” I heard Julian somewhere in the middle of the whole thing. And then I felt his hand rubbing my back. “Breathe.” I heard him say and I tried to do just that.

“Don’t pretend that you care for her. We all know that you don’t.” London snapped.

“Who are the all? I’m sure as hell they are not here. The guy is in love with the girl. Right, Julian?” Sandy said and I wanted to disappear. What was the girl trying to do?

“I told you not to talk to me you witch.” London snapped again. I don’t think I’ve heard him being this riled up before. Only when he was arguing with Julian. And it was not even this bad. They always kind of had a common ground.

“Okay, I think I like the improvement of names. I prefer witch.” She said. And I finally opened my eyes. She looked like she actually liked it. Her gaze focused on London, and I could tell she liked him. She was smiling and it was actually reaching her eyes. What the hell?

“Are you okay now?” I heard Julian who was bending beside me. I nodded.

“Thank you. I’m good. I’ll leave you guys to it.” I said feeling the need to leave as soon as possible. Julian stood with me.

“We will leave you to your banter now.” He told them and before either of them could reply, he dragged both of us out of the place.
