Chapter 42 Where Is Kate.
Domenic's POV.
Father was already waiting at his court room when I walked in. He was seated there with Giron and they seemed to be having some sort of important conversation before I came in. They both glanced at me and I bowed to my father in respect. "You asked to see me father?"
Father nodded with a pleased smile. "Dear son, Giron has informed me that he would be returning to his coven tonight. I called you here to bid him goodbye and to appreciate him for showing you mercy when you threatened him. He has decided to put everything behind him, so it's only right that you appreciate him."
I stared at Giron's smug face in irritation and wariness. I don't trust this guy. Is he going to give up on Kate this easily? I was thinking he would go through extreme ends just to have her as his slave.
Well, I have already warned him of the consequences of insisting on having Kate. Perhaps he's smart enough not to go against me. He knows more than anyone that I can kill him if I wanted to. I'm not afriad to end his pathetic existance if he hurts Kate.
I pushed aside my annoyance and said. "It's a good thing that he's leaving. The northern coven can not be without their leader for too long. I recall your coven is more closer to the danger of invasion by the shadow monsters."
Giron grinned looking pleased for some reason. "You are right prince. I must return as soon as I can." To my father he said, "thank you for having me your majesty. I am truly glad that you fought through the venom of the shadow monsters. A miracle indeed." There was a hidden meaning behind his words, but I couldn't detect it. What's he up to?
Father as oblivious as ever replied to him with a smile. "I have the goddess to thank for my good health. Thank you for coming."
Giron stood up. "I had a lovely time here in the palace." He stepped down from the throne area and walked towards me with a smug face. I watched him with caution and irritation. When he came face to face with me, he stopped and said. "That human girl Kate has been a pleasant sight to my eyes. Too bad I could not bed her or have a taste of her blood before leaving, but her scent and beauty was enough to put my hunger at ease."
I clenched my fist tightly and I could feel my fangs struggling to extend. I was literally vibrating in anger, but I kept calm, even when all I wanted to do was to punch that smugness off his face.
His smirk widen knowing he had gotten a reaction out of me. "Keep her close prince Domenic, because the minute you let her out of your sight, I'll take her away from you in the blink of an eye."
With those words, he walked out of the court room. That bastard is definitely planning something. I could see it in the way his eyes twinkled. I might have to take Kate away from here sooner than I planned.
Kate was not in her room nor in the library. I almost went mad searching everywhere for her, but she was nowhere to be found. What scared me most is the fact that I couldn't detect her scent anywhere. She was nowhere in the palace.
My search brought me back to her room and all I found was Sarah there also looking worried.
"Where is Kate?!" I couldn't help growling at her. I was angry and frustrated and I was not in my right mind to feel guilty for taking my anger out on the poor girl.
The poor girl was shaking in fear at my tone. She fell to her knees and lowered her head as tears flowed down her eyes. "L_Last I remember, Kate was at the library, but when I went to get her so she could have her lunch, she wasn't there. I couldn't find her anywhere your highness." She stuttered through a shaky voice. It was the first time I am ever showing her this angry side of me and she must be terrified.
I sighed and raked a hand through my hair in frustration. "Lysander! Linus!" I screamed in anger, and in a flash they were there in the room with us.
I stared at the both of them in anger. Their matching red eyes was watching me in confusion. "Is there a problem your highness?" Linus asked carefully.
"Where the fuck is Kate?!" I asked through gritted teeth. "Why can't I find her anywhere in the palace?!"
"I thought she was at the library?" Lysander half asked, giving Sarah a look. She was still shivering on the floor with her head lowered.
"Well, Kate isn't at the library. She's no where in this fucking palace." I walked to Lysander and stood nose to nose with him. My expression was dark with anger, but Lysander didn't flinch. He stood his ground. It was one of the reasons why I respected him. He is never afraid to stand his ground. "I left her in your care Lysander! You should know where she is!"
Lysander took in a deep breath. "She was at the library your majesty. I made sure no one goes there to disturb her. If she's not there, then I have no idea where she might be."
"Find her!!" I screamed turning away from him and pacing the room trying to calm my anger. My fist was inching to punch something. My gut feeling tells me that something bad has happened to Kate. "I want the both of you to find Kate and bring her to me. If you don't bring her to my presence before the sun comes down, I'm going to have your heads!"
They both lowered their heads in obedience. In a second, they had vanished out of the room with the wind in their wake.
She better be alright! Kate better be alright or I'm going to rain hell on this fucking palace until I find who took her.
I stopped pacing as a thought came to mind. Giron is leaving tonight, and all of a sudden Kate is missing.
My fist clenched and every part of my being vibrated with anger.
I swear to the moon goddess, if Giron is indeed the one who took my Kate, I will make sure he suffers a fate worst than death.
I'll make sure he pays dearly for deciding to go against me.
I may be holding back because of my father's respect for him, but if I find out he's the one who really took Kate, I'll show him that he messed with the wrong human.
