Chapter 37 Legend of The Gods.
Lysander ended up taking me to a library in the palace filled up with dozens of books. The shelves actually ran high to touch the ceiling. It's actually giving the library in the cartoon; beauty and the beast.
I'm not a lover of books because I absolutely detest studying, but I do like some nice fluffy romance novel, and Lysander showed me the shelf where I can find those. He promised me that no one would disturb me here since apparently, the vampires don't really like reading books, and then he left me to myself after that.
I have read three books since he left which kept me distracted from longing for Domenic. I wonder what he is doing right now and I am literally dying to feel his touch again, but I kept calm and waited. Eventually he would come to me.
I finished my third book that morning and climbed up a ladder to find another. One book caught my eyes. It was hidden between piles of other books. The cover was dark brown and screams of age.
I picked up the book and blew out the dust from it's surface. The cover reads 'Legend of the gods."
Curiously, I flipped open the first page while still standing at the top of the ladder and I read.
'long ago, before any being was created on earth, the three powerful gods rule the earth. There was the sun god Helios; creator of light and master of the day. Selene the moon goddess who created the moon. Mistress of the night and Mother of all living creatures in the world. She created the supernatural creatures and also the humans. Then last of all is Khaos, known as the legendary beast. He was the least of all gods and the moon goddess put him in charge of taking care of her children on earth so there would be peace among all. The moon goddess gave him a servant known as the guardian, created to tame the beast and control his burning rage. But the sun god became jealous of how beautiful the moon goddess creations turned out to be. He wanted his own creations to rule over the world, so he created the shadow monsters with the mission to eliminate every single one of the moon goddess children. Khaos tired to protect them but was locked in the pit of darkness by Helios. Till now the shadow monsters haunts the children of the goddess, and until the beast guardian is found, the beast will remain locked up for all eternity.'
Wow, this is an interesting story. I flipped the pages to read more, but all of a sudden my ladder suddenly lost balance and I came falling down with a little scream letting go of my book in the process. I expected to hit the ground, but was caught into strong arms.
I heard his amazing scent before I could look into his eyes. Those green eyes stared at me with a smirk on his face and I couldn't help how my heart raced at his presence.
"Domenic!" I exclaimed sounding a little too happy than I should be.
"Someone seems to miss me a lot." He said cockily. I ignored the blush forming on my cheek and stood up straight and away from his arms.
"Don't delude yourself." I rolled my eyes fighting back a smile.
"Its obvious in your body language that you miss me a lot. Have you been thinking about me?" He took a step closer with a seductive look in his eyes and my breath hitched. "About last night?"
He gripped my waist and pulled me to him, burying his nose in my neck. "Hardly. That was the last thing on my mind." I lied shivering when his lips brushed against my skin.
"Liar." He mumbled continuing to assault my neck, and I couldn't hold back the traitorous sounds that escaped my lips. "Last night was all I could think about Kitty. I could barely concentrate today. You were constantly on my mind. Your smell, your touch, your blood!" He growled underneath his breath. "Everything about you drives me insane."
I whimpered softly and pushed my body closer to his, aching for his touch. My pussy tingled with need and I felt my lower stomach tightened with a desperate ache that screams to be relieved.
To my disappointment, Domenic pulled away but held unto my waist. My lust filled eyes matched his own darkened eyes. We both wanted this, so why did he stop?
"Not now Kate. I have something to ask you." He said gently and I frowned and waited for him to speak. He looked around the library and asked. "So, did you enjoy your time here in the library?"
Realization dawn on me. He probably asked Lysander to bring me here so I won't be bored in my room all alone. That warmed my heart. Domenic Darkshadow makes it so easy to like him.
"I did," I replied with a contended sigh. "But it still kind of sucks to be always locked up in here. I'm not used to it."
I was somewhat of an introvert, but I don't like being cooked up in one place for too long. Quinn and I usually spend a lot of time together, and Jason sometimes takes me to parties when we were still dating. Sometimes my mom even takes me shopping, so being in here all day makes me a little sick.
Domenic studied my sad face for a second, then he asked. "Then, would you like to take a look around the outside world?"
My eyes lit up with hope and excitement. "Do you really mean that?"
He smiled and kissed my lips gently. "Yes Kitty. I can take you on a tour around the place."
My heart beat faster in my chest. Domenic wants to take me on a tour around his world. Me and him, alone together. Who am I to say no to that?!
"I'll love to Domenic."
His smile widened, "then let's go."
Everyone watched us with surprise as Domenic and I exited the palace. They all looked intrigued to see me walking with Domenic and his hand on my waist in a possessive hold. He didn't seem to care that eyes were boring into us and voices are murmuring in hush whispers.
We made it outside towards his car and I saw that Domenic wasn't affected by the sun.
Aren't vampires supposed to be affected by the sun?
"You're not burning up?" I wondered aloud. "Doesn't the sun affect you guys, or is all of that fictional?"
He shook his head as he opened the passenger door for me. "I'm half human. The sun doesn't affect me that much."
I climbed into the car and he proceeded to the driver's side. I couldn't help asking another question. "Is it okay for us to leave like that? You know the shadow monsters or whatever you call them will be lurking around. Lysander told me they have infiltrated your world."
Domenic's eyes hardened. "Don't worry Kate, our Kingdom isn't completely filled with them. It's still safe to move around."
I felt assured and Domenic started the engine. As we drove, he asked me. "Kate, do you wish to go back?"
I frowned confused at his question. "Go back to the palace?"
He shook his head and I noticed how his hands tightened around the steering wheel. "I mean go back to the human world."
Dread almost drowned my senses. Why was he asking me that? Is he trying to send me back? Would I be happy if I go back? At the beginning I really wanted to go back, but with this shift in my relationship with Domenic, I'm not so sure of going back anymore.
I thought about lying, but I decided to be truthful. "I admit, I do miss my mother and my best friend Quinn and I would love to go back to them, but I don't know if I want to leave just yet." I looked him straight in the eye and said. "I am not ready to leave you."
Domenic looked extremely pleased with my answer. "Of course, I knew you would be addicted to me the moment you get a taste of me." He wriggled his eyebrows, "and I'll be more than happy to give you a taste when we return home kitty."
I blushed madly. "Shut up!"
He chuckled but went serious again. "On a serious note Kate, tell me when you are ready to return to the human world. I can help you."
"You'll do that for me?" I asked extremely touched by his words.
"I'll do that and more Kate. Besides, you'll be safer if you return home."
I should be happy by his words but I couldn't bring myself to be happy. I don't want to leave Domenic. I wanted so badly to ask him if he would come with me. After all, he usually goes and come between the human world and the supernatural world, but I was not ready for his answer so I stayed silent.
