Chapter 14 Prince Dominic Rage.
Dominic's POV.
The shadow monsters had taken over the woods. They were everywhere which makes it difficult to find the seer.
My father is dying and if he dies, it means the vampire kingdom would be in danger. In a time where we should be worried about how to eradicate the shadow monsters, the elders would probably try to take the throne away from me, and that would cause a war to break out within the kingdom.
An internal war is much more dangerous than an external war, which is why I must find a way to keep my father alive.
But to my disappointment, Linus and I roamed through the woods that night looking for the seer. Her cave was somewhere around, but we were unlucky because we couldn't find her.
Any more time in the woods and we would become a meal for the shadow monsters.
Before morning came and the sunlight could pour over the earth, Linus and I were already returning back to the palace.
"Your highness, forgive me for saying this," Linus began. "But would it not be wise to inform the princess about the King's critical condition? He's also her father."
My fist clenched and my anger radiated off me in a dark powerful aura. Even Linus felt it and he lowered his head in submission. He knew he had said the wrong words.
"You sure are brave to have even mentioned my sister Linus." I began in a deadly calm tone, "even when she knew my father was sick, she made no effort to return home to see how his condition is. It is useless to inform her now that it has gotten worst."
"But your highness..." Linus tried to protest.
"Speak her name again and I shall make sure you never see the light of tomorrow."
He quickly went silent because he knows my threat is not to be taken lightly. Anyone who provokes my anger is nothing more but a walking corpse. Anyone wise enough knows better than to provoke me.
We returned to the palace and I stomped past everyone ignoring their lowered heads when I passed by them.
I had this urge to see my little human girl. The thought of seeing her excited me in ways I have never felt before. Her scent like something crafted out of heaven drove me insane.
I needed to see her! To have a fill of that wonderful scent that drove me wild. I can't wait for the day when I finally get a taste of her blood.
When my father wakes up, I will ask him to give her to me. She belongs to me and no one else. Reserved for my own pleasure.
I was almost close to her room and I could already smell her wonderful scent even before I walked in. She smells so alluring. I'm sure it takes a lot of self control for the other vampires not to find her and drain her.
How the hell is Lysander surviving being close to her?!
I pushed open the door to her room, and there she stood, standing right in front of the window and staring through it.
She was dressed in her night dress. A flimsy night gown that went past her knees coupled with a long white robe. Her hair was in a ponytail.
Something felt off in the air. She didn't react to the sound of the door opening-- like she wasn't even paying attention. It feels like she's in deep thoughts.
"Penny for your thoughts?"
She jumped startled by the sound of my voice, and when she turned to look at me, I felt a squeeze in my heart. There was tears in her eyes. Those beautiful grey eyes were clouded with a river that was holding back from flowing.
My surprise was quick to transform to anger. Why is there tears in her eyes? Who made her cry?!
I wanted to know what happened to her. I could feel there was something wrong. Who hurt her in my absence?!
I will kill whoever bastard dare to make those painful liquid present in her eyes.
"You're back." She said the words lifelessly, cold and bitter.
"You don't seem to miss me that much," I tried to tease her a bit to hide the fact that I was seconds away from blowing up in anger. I don't want her thinking that I cared about her. All that mattered to me was her blood.
"Why should I miss you in the first place? You're nothing to me! You're all monsters!" She spoke the words in cold passion, her eyes clouding all the more.
I confirmed it there and then. Something must have happened to make her so bitter. Someone hurt her!
My fist clenched beside me, but I held in my anger. "You left your room, didn't you?"
Her eyes flashed and she glared at me. "What did you expect prince?!" She spat. "I can't live in a house filled with monsters knowing that they might end up killing me soon. Of course I'll find a way to escape." She wrapped her arms around herself looking nervous, "Lysander was nice, and because of that I gave you guys the benefit of doubt. You were nice to me at the cave and I want to trust you but..." Her lips trembled. "I don't even know if that was really you."
"Tell me who hurt you," I said calmly, too calm to be normal. I'm more deadly when I'm calm.
She scoffed, "why? So you can give him a gold medal?"
"So I can throw him under the sun and watch him burn while I laugh at his flickering ashes and feast to his pained screams!" My words were spoken with such harsh venom, laced with danger, and she did nothing but stare at me wide eyed, probably surprised by my sincerity and darkness. "Now tell me, who the fuck is that bastard?!"
Her surprise was gone replaced with anger. "It doesn't matter who he is. I don't even want you to do anything to him, all I want is to go home. Why do you even care what he did to me when you plan to do the exact same thing?!"
I took a step closer to her, a step that was meant to threaten her. My gaze was cold and dark, evil and malicious. She took a step back but I grabbed hold of her waist and pulled her roughly towards me.
She gasped in shock, and I buried my nose in her neck inhaling her wonderful scent. "You're right!" I growled into her ear in a seductive whisper. Her body reacted to my touch not in a bad way, but in a way that reminds me of the look she gave me in that cave when she saw my naked torso. "I want to drain you dry, but I also want to be the only one who gets to taste your blood. Only me, because you belong to me!"
"I'm not yours!" She argued in a pathetic attempt to deny what she was feeling, what I made her feel.
I chuckled darkly, "keep believing that kitty cat."
She gasped, and I knew I have given myself away. She probably knows now that I was the guy in the cave with her.
"You bastard!" She growled pushing me back.
I laughed at her angry face. She looks so fucking cute when she's mad. "Never forget who you belong to kitty cat! I'll protect you, because your blood belongs to me and me alone. Never forget that." I winked at her angered face before walking out of her room.
My anger returned when I walked out. Lysander was already there waiting for me, his head lowered in respect.
"Who was it?"
Lysander knew exactly what I was asking and he answered without wasting a second. "It's Giovanni your highness. Should I ordered for him to be taken to the dungeon?"
"No, I want him in my torture room."
He never should have touched what belongs to me.
