Chapter 12 Attacked.
I was bored out of my mind. I have been in my room all morning with nothing to do. No books to read, no phone to use the internet. Do they even have phones here? It almost seems like they are living in the ancient era.
I sat on my bed all day looking out the window and wondering how long this torture is going to last. I can't stay here in this world any longer. I have to go back home.
But how? Where will I even start my escape? I want to look around the place and plan a way to escape this place, but how can I do that when that bastard prince doesn't want me leaving the room?!
I thought about him and felt a slight tug at my heart. His annoying smirk and the way he looks at me.
I should hate it!
I should really hate it, but yet...
The door opened and Lysander walked in with a smile on his face. His expression was kind and warm as always, and his long hair was tied behind his head this time. Either way, Lysander still looks very handsome.
"How are you doing Kate?" He asked gently standing a bit far away from the bed where I sat.
I sighed and slumped down on the bed staring at the beautiful white ceiling. "I'm bored. I'm very bored right now it's about to drive me crazy."
"Is there anything I can do to ease your boredom?"
At first I thought Lysander was joking, but when I noticed the seriousness in his tone, I stared at him curiously. "And why do you even care about relieving my boredom?"
He shrugged like the answer was supposed to be obvious. "Well, the prince made it my responsibility to keep you company until he returns from his trip, and to be honest, I just want to make you feel a bit comfortable. I know you don't want to be here, the least I can do is make you feel a bit at home."
My heart grew warm at his answer. Why is he so nice to me? Why can't Dominic Darkshadow and the rest of his vampire people be like Lysander?
I sat back up on the bed smiling at him. "You're too nice for a vampire you know?" His warm smile told me that he was flattered by the compliment. "Anyway, tell me about this supernatural world. Is there only vampires here or are there other species?"
"Actually there are a lot of different species in the supernatural world, and each has its own Kingdom and it's ruler." Lysander began in an excited tone and I listened attentively hoping to get some information that could help me get the hell out of here. "There's us, the vampire Kingdom which is ruled by King Nicolas Darkshadow, and then there's the werewolf Kingdom which is ruled by the Alpha King Raymond."
My eyes widened in amazement. "Do you mean actual werewolves? Like the one we see in movies?"
He chuckled, "a lot more fascinating than that."
"Do they transform to wolves and all like they do in the movies?"
Lysander nodded watching me in amusement. "Of course, they transform to wild wolves. That's why they are called werewolves after all."
I found it hard to wrap my head around all these. I can't believe vampires and werewolves exist. I thought they only exist in movies and story books.
"Are you enemies like the movies says?"
Lysander shook his head. "The werewolf and vampire kingdom has actually been good friends for centuries, but ever since the shadow monsters invaded our world, both kingdom hasn't crossed path since then."
I gulped when I thought about those red eyes shadowy things in the woods that almost tried to kill me. "What are they anyway? These shadow monsters?"
"They are demons created by the sun god to remove all children of the moon goddess from the surface of the earth. They are primal and animalistic. They only act on their instinct to kill and destroy. Whoever gets slashed by their claws or bitten never lived to tell the story."
I shuddered at the information. I can't believe I was almost attacked by that animal. If it could kill immortal beings like vampires and werewolves, what would it do to me a mere human?
Fuck! I need to get out of here soon.
I smiled at Lysander, a little too sweetly. "Lysander, can you please take me on a tour round your palace? It's really boring to sit in one place all day. I'm not used to it."
Lysander looked uncomfortable, "b...buts it's dangerous Kate."
"You'll be with me the entire time right? You won't let anyone hurt me."
He didn't look convinced, but my puppy eyes seem to be working, still he said. "But the prince instructed me to keep you company. He doesn't want you coming out of your room."
"Who's gonna tell him?" I said with a pout. "Please Lysander."
He closed his eyes like he was fighting with himself, then finally he sighed. "Okay fine. I'll take you around the palace, but you must promise to stick close to me. Don't even make eye contact with anyone."
I nodded rapidly as a huge smile took over my expression.
Now the plan is, study the place as best as I could, and when everyone is asleep at night, make a run for it!
The palace is bigger than I thought. There was a lot of people and they gave me the same weird looks they gave me on my first day here.
I did as Lysander told me anyway. I stood close to him making sure not to make eye contact with any vampire. Their red glowing eyes was scary anyway.
After showing me around, Lysander took me back to my room. Thank God I was good at memorizing. I have memorized every part of the palace, and now I have an idea of where the exit is and how to get the hell out of here.
I waited when it was night. Lucky for me, the prince wasn't smart enough to leave any guards watching over my room. I have to leave this place as soon as possible.
I got out of bed and hurried to the door. Maybe I would have used the window, but I think I was almost four story up. I can't kill myself before I even have the chance to escape.
I left my room and tiptoed down the empty corridor. The room was dark and silent like a graveyard. Any wrong move from me and I'm sure the whole house would wake up.
Vampires has sensitive ears, so I must be careful with the way I move about.
When I got to the end of the hallway, I rounded the corner only to bump into a guy.
I yelped in surprise and stumbled back. When I looked up, I found a dark haired fair skinned man looking down at me with a predatory smile. His red eyes were glowing and scary. I could see the tip of his fangs.
Fear gripped me and my heart pounded in my chest. I know for sure that whoever this guy is, he is bad news!
"Wh... Who are you?" I mumbled stupidly.
His grin widened revealing his scary fangs some more. "I was waiting for an opportunity to have you all to myself." He growled.
Before I could react to his words, he gripped my hair and pulled me to him roughly until my head was to his chest and he was gazing down at me like I was a special meal.
I was about to scream, but he covered my mouth with his other hand and backed me up against the wall. I tried to fight against his hold but he was too strong.
He licked his lips pushing his nose closer to my neck to sniff it. "Fuck, you smell so good."
I was so scared right now. Fear filled my heart when I felt the tip of his sharp fangs grazing the skin of my neck.
God, he's really going to kill! He's really going to suck all my blood from my body! I'm gonna die!
I prayed for a miracle to happen, and just when he was about to sink his teeth into my skin, he was ripped away from me.
