Chapter One Hundred and Two
"WHAT THE FUCK TOOK YOU SO LONG?!" Damien shouted, cursing to himself and angrily breaking every tree within a half a mile radius.
"I"
"AM"
"SO"
"ANGRY" He yelled, breaking branches, rocks, the ground.
"I was trying to send you messages but she made me unconscious, then surely I thought Colton would figure it out. I mean we literally were trained to recognized illegal compulsion, but NO, he was probably too busy drinking and FUCKING YOU." Damien said angrily.
"Well, you're not wrong." I said to Damien. He was livid and screamed again.
"So how does it work?" I asked Damien.
"It makes the people under the spell believe that it's in their best interest to do something, so you guys had free thinking will, but it was altered to a singular message, stay at the academt and comply or some shit. GOD I AM SO ANGRY." Damien shouted again.
"That makes sense, I felt like I was going crazy. Everyone kept convincing me not to fight, even Colton." I said to Damien, finally recognizing the pattern.
"Of course he didn't, I'm trained to protect him, he's mated to protect you, he was trying to keep you safe and his brain worked out the compliance logic. How did he convince you not to fight back?" Damien asked.
"He just told me that the fight would happen in the court room, not in the school." I said to Damien. Damien burst out laughing again.
"IN THE FUCKING COURTROOM THAT'S DOING THE COMPULSION SPELL." Damien said, delusional from his mental exhuastion.
"Okay, I need to feed. Immediately." Damien said.
"I will too." I said,
"Yes and then we need to go to James, immediately, this is so fucking over." Damien said.
"Wait, you want to go to Coltons father? What about Colton?" I asked Damien.
"There's nothing you can do, unless you know how to break compulsion spells." Damien said. I shook my head.
"How do I learn?" I asked Damien, wanting to fix the problem immediately. Damien and I began to hunt while maintaining our conversation. We traveled to the top of the forest near our school, overlooking the lake and the castle like academy.
"We need to ask James, I don't know." Damien replied. I sighed.
"I'm not comfortable leaving Colton and all of our friends in that school." I said to Damien, he was feeding on a mountain lion that he casually hunted.
"There is quite literally nothing you can do from in there." Damien said.
"I know but-" I began.
"Isabella, there is NOTHING you can do. Until you learn herd immunity for culty conservative, there is nothing you can do." Damien said. I looked to the glowy school that had become my home.
"Come with me, learn how to protect them, then come back and burn the place to the fucking ground fighting for them." Damien said. I bit my lip, knowing what I had to do.
"Fine. Let's go to James." I said, reluctant to leave my friends behind.
"Let's go now. We can be there by dawn, I'll charter a jet." Damien said.
------------
Once on the plane I sat calmly in Damiens lap. I had missed him so much.
"So I'm curious, what made you come to find me?" Damien said.
I thought about this for a moment.
"Well, it's strange. I don't know why it took me a month, it's like my head was all fuzzy. I was just so distracted and nervous that if I went to you something would go wrong. It's hard to describe, it's like they rewired my subconsious." I said to him.
"It's dark magic. It shouldn't be allowed." Damien said, kissing my cheek and holding me tight in his arms.
"I missed you so much." He breathed into my neck.
As Damien and I kissed, I couldn't believe how much I had missed him. It had been a month since we had last seen each other, and being reunited with him felt like a dream come true.
I ran my hands over his chest, feeling the hard muscles beneath his shirt. Damien responded by pulling me closer, his lips pressing hungrily against mine.
I had missed the feel of Damien's skin against mine, the way his hands roamed over my body with such tenderness and desire. I missed his harsher touch, his rougher fingers.
Everything else felt distant and insignificant. All that mattered was Damien and I, wrapped up in each other's embrace, lost in the heat of our passion.
As Damien undressed me, I couldn't help but admire his toned physique. He was absolutely gorgeous, and the way he looked at me with his favorite ice blue eyes of mine such sent familiar shivers down my spine.
We moved together slowly, each touch and caress building on the last. Damien's hands explored every inch of my body, leaving a trail of fire in their wake. I moaned softly, unable to resist his touch.
As we romantically orgasmed, I knew that I had never felt more alive. Damien and I had always been meant to be together, and our love was stronger than anything that the world could throw at us.
"I love you bells." Damien said as we lay shamlessly in the private jet we chartered.
"I love you too." I said back to him, gripping him tightly despite our warm embrace.
"I won't leave you again. Ever." He said to me as emotional tears swelled in my eyes.
"Don't you ever dare Damien." I said to him, my typically cool girl attitude crumbling under his gaze. I was a crying mess.
"Shhh, why don't you shut your eyes and go to sleep. Your brain has been confused and busy the last month. Just relax into me, let me take all the pain away." Damien said. I was so embarrassed as I cried like a small child into his chest, Damien didn't seem to mind. He held me tight until I finally released everything and fell asleep on his chest.
-------------
Damien and I rushed off the plane to Colton's castle. We were happy to be reuinted, but the sadness of all our friends being trapped kind of spoiled the mood.
"Isabella, Damien!" Coltons mother said as she greeted us at the door. Her warm smile quickly dropped at our solemn faces.
"JAMES!" She shouted over her shoulder.
"Is Colton alright, what are you two doing here?!" James asked frantically, zooming down with his vampire speed to greet Damien and I.
"I heard you left." Alice said to Damien, arriving from around the corner.
"Have you guys finally ended things with Colton? It's about time." Rose said appearing as well.
"Colton is safe. Everyone is safe." I reassured Colton's parents.
"We need to speak with you, urgently." Damien said.
"Why can't you tell us all brother?" Damien and Coltons brother asked standing in a group of many bittens.
"Alright, it's no secret." Damien said.
"The royal army has applied a compulsion spell to the entire student body. Isabella was trapped in it for over a month. She claims her friends, including Colton, were whipped and tortured, all being forced to comply with insane laws." Damien said.
"No, I can't believe it. Master Dean and Flora are our friends, we host them for parties!" James said.
"And Coltons' letters, he makes it sound like the royal court is improving their lives. I mean, I was a little wary of it, but it's Coltons handwriting." Coltons mother said.
I could help but feel like something was off.
James listened attentively, his expression grave as he absorbed the implications of what we were saying. "I had no idea," he said, shaking his head in disbelief. "I had always trusted the royal court, and I never would have guessed that they would stoop to something like this."
"We don't have any concrete proof yet," Damien said, "but we are confident that our suspicions are correct. Colton's letters to you, claiming that he was enjoying the new reform, seemed forced and out of character for him. We believe he was under the influence of the spell."
James looked at us with a deep frown. "This is grave news indeed," he said. "I will convene a meeting with the rest of the court and present your suspicions to them. We will do everything in our power to uncover the truth and bring those responsible to justice."
"No, no!" I said as James walked away, stopping him in his tracts.
"The court can't be involved, they have to be overthrown." I said to James.
James laughed.
"Overthrown? No, we don't need to use violence. We will handle this in the courtroom." James said.
And then it hit me, hard.
They're under the compulsion spell, just keep smiling, I said to Damien.
What? He doesn't seem like it, Damien responded.
I know, but his response is the exact same cookie cutter version and Coltons this past month, just trust me. I said to Damiens head.
"I think we'll uh, be heading out soon. We have to feed." Damien said uneasily. I mentally cursed.
"What are you talking about? Stay! We have blood here, and you need to be with us for the court." Coltons mother said.
I smiled nervously.
"Of course, of course we'll stay." I said to her with a fake smile.
This was much worse than I thought.
