Chapter 35 Attack Plan

Chapter 35 Attack Plan
"A bigger attack?" I asked, curious about what kind of attack they would launch.
"We're still training; we were asked to keep training. And tonight, Mr. Dylan will hold a meeting in the hall to plan our movements. I assure you, I will provide all the information to you, Madam. But for now, we still don't know what steps we will take. Basically, there might be a war between the southern and eastern parts of Mister Victor's territory," Mary said at length.
"It turns out they haven't been told what's going to happen; they're just focused on continuing to prepare themselves. And as long as you know, the real reason your movements were restricted and you were given as many as twelve maids to follow you is none other than to protect you from an unknown attack by Mr. Victor."
I was a little surprised; actually, it's not surprising that I would be involved, but this marriage hasn't even been a month, and I'm already threatened now.
"So, the security is tightened not because I have to stop exercising and take care of my baby's health?"
"Perhaps one of the reasons. But Mr. Dylan said it must protect the heir from Mr. Victor's touch because Mr. Victor already knows about your marriage. For Mr. Victor, you're is a threat because you are Mr. Egan's daughter. And Dylan took advantage of everything," Mary said.
Dylan is truly cunning; he's good at reading the atmosphere and taking advantage of everything. Now my situation is quite worrying; let alone seeking revenge, being here turned out not to be safe. I also need to save myself from the war that Dylan will wage with Victor. Damn, Dylan really pulled me in too deep.
"Let's start practicing, madam." Mary brought my three chosen weapons along with her full backpack into the soundproof room Mary meant. I followed Mary from behind toward a white room with no doors or windows. At the end, Mary had already prepared a round target.
"Madam, let's use this." Mary put the safety equipment available there on me, like ear, eye, and knee protection.
"Some important things to keep in mind when learning to shoot and use firearms are safety, ethics, and the correct basic techniques," said Mary, as she handed me a pistol for my first firearm.
"Always remember that safety is the top priority. Treat every weapon as if it's loaded. Never assume a weapon is unloaded, even if you've checked it. Second, keep your finger off the trigger. Place your index finger along the frame or side of the weapon until you are completely ready to shoot. Third, point the weapon in a safe direction. Never point the barrel of a weapon at anything you do not intend to shoot or destroy. And fourth, make sure the target and the surrounding area are safe."
Mary started guiding me into the correct shooting position. "Let's start with the basic shooting technique. First is true belief. Hold the weapon firmly with both hands. Your dominant hand grips the handle, while your non-dominant hand is pressed tightly against your dominant hand." Mary helped me hold the gun correctly.
"Second, body position. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and your knees slightly bent. Position your weight slightly forward to control recoil or jerking when shooting." This time, Mary adjusted my body to get the correct shooting position.
"Third, trigger squeeze (trigger control). Press the trigger slowly and steadily with your index finger. Avoid pulling the trigger with a jerk that could throw off your aim. Fourth, focus on the shot. Focus your sights on the front sight when aiming, not on the target. Then shoot!"
Mary told me to shoot, but instead of shooting right away, I glanced at her hesitantly. "Don't hesitate! Now!" Mary quickly signaled. It gave me the courage to refocus my gaze on the target, and after feeling comfortable, I started shooting without hesitation.
The sound of gunfire was so loud, but Mary didn't mind because once again she was convinced that the room was soundproof. Mary also made sure to see how my shot was, and even though it was a little off, Mary still applauded me.
"Good start, ma'am." Mary gave me a compliment, and I could only smile with both hands trembling. Honestly, this is my first shot, and I can't deny the feeling of my whole body pounding and trembling.
"Now, the final position after shooting, by briefly maintaining your aiming position. Don't immediately lower your weapon to see the results of the shot." Mary's words made me repeat my previous position. Swinging my arm from start to finish until I got used to shooting it.
"Actually, this wouldn't happen if you were in a desperate situation or if you were already very skilled. You can shoot from any position. But this is the right step, the right shooting position. Just make sure your aim is accurate, and don't miss the target," Mary said.
"Wow, this is really helpful, Mary. I'm so grateful." I am very grateful that Mary was willing to teach me so many things, and with humility, Mary never boasted, let alone asked me for a fantastic fee.
"Let's call it a day. I need to tidy everything up and put all the weapons back in their places." I nodded, then helped Mary pack away all her equipment.

Today was truly amazing, I can't even stop thinking about my first feeling when I shot. Even as night fell, I was still practicing the shooting position Mary had taught me. This time my target was the window, and I pretended to shoot toward it as if I were in a war situation.
As I focused my gaze there with my imagination, the window suddenly opened, making me gasp in surprise.
"Damian?"
I almost screamed because I suddenly saw Damian at my bedroom window. However, Damian instructed me to be quiet. I then ran toward the entrance to lock it and also closed the balcony doors with curtains so no one could see in.
When I turned around, Damian had already managed to get into my room. His breath was labored, but from the look in his eyes, I could tell Damian was satisfied with his efforts.
"Why are you here?" I asked, approaching Damian.
"To meet you, to communicate with you, and perhaps you'd want to run away with me or need my other help," said Damian. Actually, I'm not ready to be visited yet. I haven't found myself in a pressing situation that would make me need to ask for help. But...
Suddenly, a loud knocking sound came from outside.
"Madam, madam!"
