Chapter 34 Learning Firearms

Chapter 34 Learning Firearms
Damn, I was even waited on by about twelve maids and one Anne in the dining room. It felt like every move I made was being watched, not just by them, but by all the housekeepers. Dylan was true to his word; he really did restrict my movements.
After breakfast, Anne and I usually go straight to the library and get ready for practice. But now we have to go around the park to figure out how we can get away from these twelve maids.
"Do you have any ideas, Anne?" I whispered to Anne.
"What if we just go to the library and I keep watch outside? Let me tell them that you don't want to be disturbed while reading your book." Anne's idea made me shake my head.
"No, Dylan knows I went to the library to exercise. One of them is bound to report it, and Dylan will be angry." I sighed.
"Then we have to go somewhere else," Anne said. Anne held my hand to take me away from the park. The twelve maids ran after us back into the house.
"Is this the painting room?" Anne led me into a room filled with rows of canvases.
"Lower your voice, madam," whispered Anne, realizing the twelve maids were faithfully behind us.
"It's time for ma'am to paint. No one is allowed to disturb. I'll even wait outside." Anne spoke to the twelve maids behind us. They seemed reluctant, but Anne's firmness finally silenced them.
"Come in, madam. I'll tell Mary you're waiting here," Anne instructed me.
"If you don't go in, how will Mary have a reason to go in? They'll all definitely protest," I said.
"There's a secret room in the painting room; I'll ask Mary to go in through there." I widened my eyes in surprise, but there was no time for Anne to explain it to me.
I entered the painting room, walked around, and touched the equipment while waiting for Mary to arrive. I also tried to paint because I figured it would take Anne quite a while to get away from the twelve maids and bring Mary here.
I think I've been here for almost half an hour, and even the painting I hastily made is almost finished. I thought I'd go back to my room when the painting is finished; maybe it's okay if we have a day off from practice today.
As that thought crossed my mind, a wall suddenly opened, making me a little surprised because I couldn't have guessed its existence. Then Mary entered, with a backpack on her back.
"Wow, your paintings are really good," Mary praised.
"I should be the one who's surprised. What are you carrying? You look like you're planning to run away." Mary laughed, then approached me and lowered her backpack.
"Because ma'am can't practice martial arts anymore, I'll teach you something else." Mary took something out of her backpack.
"Weapons?" I widened my eyes; there were so many different weapons in Mary's backpack. From firearms to sharp weapons.
"Will I learn everything?" I asked, touching one of the firearms Mary was carrying.
"Of course. I will teach you everything; I will explain the use of everything," Mary said, after she had taken everything out.
"But won't the explosion be heard outside? As you know, I now have twelve maids monitoring me," I tried to warn Mary, but Mary just smiled as if she had already thought of everything and I didn't need to worry.
"I wouldn't have planned to teach you firearms if I hadn't thought about how you could learn without shooting directly. In that room over there is a soundproof room. Actually, Anne and I had already planned this to make everything easier," said Mary, which touched me with their kindness.
"Take a look at this. This is one of the handguns we often refer to as a pistol. It's a semi-automatic weapon that's flat, compact, easy to carry and conceal, and capable of firing quickly. However, guns have complex mechanisms and are prone to jamming. The pistol is loaded with a magazine attached to the grip and can carry more ammunition than a revolver." Mary handed me the pistol to hold and examine.
"This is a revolver. Revolvers can be single-action or double-action, are more powerful and reliable than pistols, and allow for the use of higher caliber ammunition than pistols. Revolvers typically hold six bullets in a cylindrical magazine. Loading the bullets is done manually. Revolvers are safer because they can be loaded without accidental leakage," said Mary, and she also let me try to look at and hold the revolver.
"I prefer the revolver model; it looks very cool," I said, demonstrating the shooting position.
"Do pregnant women look strange holding a firearm like this?" I asked Mary for her opinion.
"No, you look very cool." Mary gave me two thumbs up.
"Try this one," Anne said. I was surprised and tried to touch it. It's like the weapons in the game, and I can't help but be amazed by them.
"This is the ZH-05, the rifle used by Chinese soldiers. The ZH-05 is an assault rifle and functions like a grenade launcher. It's one of the most complex weapons made in China, equipped with electronic sights that can accurately aim the rifle barrel and grenade launcher."
"Wow, that's amazing. Can I try it later?" Mary nodded, giving me permission and encouragement.
"This one's like a Russian rifle," I pointed to the rifle next to Mary.
"Wow, do you know, ma'am? How did you know, ma'am? This rifle began mass production in 1976. The latest variant of this rifle, the AK-74M, has been the standard assault rifle of the Russian armed forces since the early 1970s," Mary explained.
"I know because my father has it too. And where did you get all this?" I asked Mary.
"I couldn't possibly have everything. I only have a gun. I stole all of this from the house's weapons room. The guard was angry, and he said I could only borrow it for one hour." And I couldn't help but laugh.
"So just pick three out of all of them, okay? Time's running out." Mary's words made me laugh again.
"Ah, yesterday Dylan said you have to focus on training for another week. What exactly is Dylan planning?"
"Well, after Mr. Dylan was appointed as the leader of the south, Mr. Dylan secretly attacked Mr. Victor's business. From the chaotic port business, factory fires, and the termination of the partnership with Mr. Victor orchestrated by Mr. Dylan, everything has been discovered by Mr. Victor."
"Really? I think Dylan is really shameless, even though Master Victor gave him the south and made him the leader," I said.
"Yes, Master Dylan is very cunning. And in another week, we will prepare for a larger offensive."
