Chapter 61 SPIRALING DEEPER

Chapter 61 SPIRALING DEEPER
Sonia paced her apartment, tension coiling tight in her chest.
The city outside glittered innocently, but inside, her desires were anything but innocent.
She had tried to maintain control, to focus on Veritas, on revenge, on survival—but Ricky… he haunted her every thought.
She never thought she could experience so much pleasure, she was no saint, and she has had one or two experiences, but with Ricky, it was a different experience entirely.

She felt like she was torn apart, and fixed together in all the right way, she ached in all the right places, and climaxed thrice in one night.

"Face it Sonia, you are hooked, addicted," she whispered to her reflection in the mirror.
Looking at the well loved woman staring back at her in the face.

Her phone buzzed. A single message, simple, yet incendiary: “Let's meet tonight. The lounge, you know where.”

She hesitated. Her rational mind screamed to ignore it, to maintain the armor she’d built over a decade. But her body betrayed her. Every nerve demanded it. Every memory of last night—the warmth, the danger, the undeniable pull—flared in her veins like wildfire.

I can’t resist him, she admitted quietly, tracing the message with a trembling finger. I shouldn’t. But I can’t stop thinking about him.

By the time she arrived at the lounge Ricky had insisted on, every step felt like surrender.
He opened the door before she could knock, his expression unreadable, eyes darkened with anticipation, for a fleeting second, she saw something dark pass through his eyes, could be the light she thought.

His eyes slowly made their journey through her body taking in the black strapless gown that hung to her generous curves, and the teasing cleavage in view.

“Sonia,” he said, low, intimate, voice curling around her name like smoke. “You came.”

“I… had to,” she whispered, heart hammering against her ribs. “I… I didn't want to, but… I—”

Ricky closed the distance, stopping her mid-breath. His hands brushed hers, feather-light yet urgent. “You don’t have to explain anything. Just be here, be with me.”

Her mind screamed in protest, You have a plan. You’re the Grim Reaper, you can’t fall. But every rational thought evaporated under the heat of his gaze.

Ricky felt the rush of power and danger the moment she stepped into his private lounge smelling like strawberries soaked in vanilla, which seemed to be her favorite smell..
Her eyes, stormy and conflicted, betrayed her just enough to drive him insane. He could sense her hesitation, her internal battle—but he didn’t care. Not tonight.

“Look at me,” he commanded softly, brushing a strand of hair from her face. His thumb lingered, tracing her jawline. “I want all of you, or none of you. And I know you feel it too.”

Sonia shivered but didn’t step back. “I… I shouldn’t.”

Ricky leaned closer. “Shouldn’t what? Shouldn’t feel alive? Shouldn’t crave me like I crave you?”

Her lips parted, breath hitching. “You… you’re dangerous.”

He smiled, a predator’s grin, low and irresistible. “I know. And so are you.”

Their lips met, tentative at first, then hungry, desperate. Every kiss tore at the barriers they’d built, igniting memories and desires long buried. Her hands tangled in his hair, pulling him closer, needing him, needing the chaos he embodied.

From his vantage point across the street, Greg’s vision narrowed. He followed her, he had checked the video spy cam he installed in her suite and saw them last night—the closeness, the brush of hands, the heat radiating between them. The long and passionate sex had almost driven him mad
He watched the video feed for hours torturing himself to the sound of her moans.
His chest tightened, a mix of jealousy, fear, and helplessness constricting him.

She’s his. And she’s letting him in, Greg thought, teeth grinding. Why am I watching this? Why can’t I look away?

He exhaled slowly, forcing himself to focus. “Don’t interfere. Just… protect. If it goes wrong, she’s mine to extract.” His voice was barely a whisper.

Sonia pulled back from Ricky, chest heaving, sweat slick on her skin. Her rational mind floundered. What am I doing? she thought, staring into the fire of his eyes. I promised myself I wouldn’t fall into this, not for him, not anyone. And yet…

“You feel it too,” Ricky murmured, brushing her hair behind her ear. “You can’t fight it.”

“I… I don’t know who I am anymore,” she admitted, trembling. “Everything I’ve built, everything I’ve become… I’m losing it in this moment with you.”

Ricky’s hand cupped her cheek, thumb stroking gently. “Then let yourself be lost. For tonight, at least. I’ll carry you if you fall.”

Sonia’s defenses crumbled like brittle glass. Every touch, every whispered word, every brush of lips against her neck sent her spiraling further, into desire, into need, into chaos. She had survived the worst the world had thrown at her—but this… this was a different kind of danger. One that came from within.

Ricky pulled her into the bedroom, their bodies colliding, seeking, needing. Every kiss, every touch, every whispered moan wove a dangerous intimacy between them. He felt her trembling beneath him, a mix of fear and longing that mirrored his own.

“Tell me you want this,” he breathed against her lips.

“I… I do,” she whispered, voice raw, barely audible. “But I… I shouldn’t.”

Ricky smiled, a wicked, triumphant smile. “Then we’ll break the rules together.”

Their hands explored, claiming, marking, yet tender enough to ignite every nerve. They collapsed onto the bed, a tangle of heat and desire, the city lights casting shifting shadows across their bodies. Every touch was a surrender, every kiss a confessional, every gasp a promise and a threat at once.

Greg’s jaw tightened as he watched the unfolding scene he had hacked into the lounge's feed. He wanted to storm in, to pull her away, to remind her that he had loved her long before Ricky had appeared in her life. But he couldn’t. Not yet, Ricky was her choice.

She’s his now, he admitted bitterly. And I can’t interfere without losing everything, without completely losing her.

He exhaled slowly, swallowing the ache in his chest. I’ll wait. I’ll protect. But I won’t… I can’t… I won’t stand in the way of what she wants. Even if it kills me inside.

His hands clenched at his sides. The tension was unbearable. I have to watch her fall and hope she survives…

Sonia lay in Ricky’s arms, tangled, flushed, every nerve screaming. She loved the danger, the surrender, the way he made her forget the world she’d painstakingly built. But guilt twisted deep in her gut. Greg’s presence, the quiet, protective shadow she had always relied on, haunted her thoughts.

I’m betraying him, Greg… she thought, I shouldn’t want this. And yet… I can’t stop.

Ricky brushed her hair back, lips against her temple, sensing her distraction. “Don’t think. Just feel.”

She closed her eyes, surrendering to the moment, to the chaos, to the fire burning between them.
