Chapter 92: What Is The News?

Chapter 92: What Is The News?
Damian Black's POV:

"To get away, you mean," I added at that precise moment, even more frustrated than I was before. "You are telling me... that Kelly Anne used such an opportunity as that and just happened to be left there... sitting in the wheelchair, while a nurse, the one who pushed her outside in the first place. The one who was supposed to wait there with her till her ride showed up... Just so happened to slip away to help someone else and leave Kelly Anne unattended?!"

"That's correct, boss," Gerald spoke up at that moment

He spoke in a plain manner as I looked around at everyone else around the table. It was at that moment that I reached up and slammed each of my fists down on the front edge of the table. I was more than pissed off at this precise moment.

"She rolled herself further down the walking path and away from the main entrance of the hospital," Matthew spoke up next. "I am sorry this is displeasing news to you, boss."

"I see," I said as I sat back, acting as if nothing had happened previously and I didn't almost just lose control at the former moment.

It was my turn to look visually frustrated, but I had a different way of showing it. However, as for my men, I knew I didn't have to worry about anything in particular at the moment. I could let loose around my men without having to worry about anything. I could actually let my guard down if that were a better way to describe it. To blow off some pent-up steam, show my frustration in a way.

As I continued to sit there, I again furrowed my brows as I attempted to piece all of this newfound information together.

"Does anyone have any idea who it was that came to her after she left the sight of the nurse?" I asked right then, as I had yet to see the video they had all apparently seen together.

I didn't need to see this video just yet. It would fuel my rage, and that is not what I needed to have happen right now. I was on my honeymoon, for all Nadine knew. I needed to conduct my business in a private manner, so that she could enjoy herself and I was there with her in a formal fashion.

"Fine," I said right then. "I want to see the video. I want to see the visual evidence that shows exactly who took her."

"I agree," Andre spoke up, adding his comments. "I would like to see exactly who it was that took her as well. The way between all of us, we might be able to form an idea as to who it could've been."

"How long will it take to get this set up?" I asked as Nathan stood up to his feet.

"It won't take long at all," Nathan said, walking over to a small concealed television on the wall. "Just take a look here, and I'll get it started."

"Boss, just please keep in mind that there's no volume on the video," Matthew added as we saw the picture on the lower side wall of the canopy, revealing a blank video screen.

"That's fine," I spoke up at that moment. "It doesn't matter if I can hear what they're saying. Just as long as I can get a glimpse as to who it could've been."

It only took a matter of a few seconds before the video started playing. You could see the image out front of the hospital. There was one camera in particular that was looking out at the hospital's main entrance under the canopy. Within seconds, you could see Nadine being pushed out in a wheelchair by a nurse.

"That's her, sure enough," I said, seeing the condition of the patient being wheeled around.

You could tell there was minimal conversation between Kelly Anne and the nurse, probably just asking when her ride was going to show up. It wasn't a moment longer before another car showed up. Whoever was in the front passenger seat immediately jumped out and called for the nurse standing there behind her. The nurse looked down at Kelly Anne before Kelly Anne waved her off.

"Figures," Andre said as I continued watching the video play out on the screen.

I could definitely tell by the video that the nurse rushed over to assist the people in the vehicle. She helped pull someone from the back passenger seat as the front passenger assisted in taking that individual inside. The driver, however, didn't stay there as they went to park the car before running to the front entrance.

"This is where she makes her move," Matthew said at that moment.

There was no doubt that we all could see Kelly Anne turn to look back over her shoulder, saying that the nurse was no longer in sight. She maneuvered her crutches and unlocked the wheels as she rolled away from the hospital entrance, farther down the walking path. She got almost to the end before she stopped and turned to face the drive.

"How much longer?" I asked as I turned to look back at the rest of the men still sitting there watching the video.

"She's about to get up," Gerald spoke up right then.

I could definitely see Kelly Anne maneuver crutches around as she used her feet to lift up on the footpads. I couldn't help it as I narrowed my eyes, trying to watch what was possibly about to happen. She struggled to get to her feet before taking a step forward. One of her arms was injured, so her struggle was real.

"Serves her right," Andre spoke up at that moment.

My eyes went wide as I watched Kelly Anne take a step down off the curb and then fall into the drive itself. The crutches she held in her hand slid a decent distance.

"I didn't exactly expect that," I said, continuing to watch the scene play out before me.

Suddenly, you could see in the distance an SUV pulling into the frame. They were going well above the speed limit for a parking area. In fact, I actually thought they were going to run her over. That is... until the driver came to a swift halt.

"Boss," Clay spoke up at that moment. "You can see the license plate numbers are obscured. We couldn't get a read on anything."

I could not believe my eyes.

Then I said, "I can't believe this!"
