Chapter 189: Please Have Some Self-Respect
Chapter 189: Please Have Some Self-Respect
Inside the room, it was a complete mess.
Nancy, who had been drugged with an aphrodisiac, was locked in with several filthy beggars.
These beggars were covered in dirt. Having never seen such a sexy woman as Nancy before, their eyes lit up when they saw her under the influence of the aphrodisiac.
Nancy kept taking off her clothes, trying to seduce those beggars.
Before long, the beggars rushed at Nancy. Within minutes, Nancy's passionate moans echoed through the shabby house.
I didn't really want to watch such a scene, especially with a woman like Nancy—even taking one more glance would have felt like an insult to my eyes.
Of course, I didn't want Jane to see this either.
"Alright, let's go."
I took Jane's hand, ready to leave.
Jane asked me nervously, "Andrew, isn't this a bit...?"
I held Jane's hand tightly and explained, "Do you think I'm going too far?"
Jane nodded.
"Yes."
"Have you thought about what happened that day at the Gonzalez Villa? Nancy put an aphrodisiac in my tea, which almost made me lose control and do something wrong."
"That day, if I hadn't had strong willpower, the video of Nancy and me having sex would have spread all over the world. At that time, not only would the Lopez Group and I have been be affected."
"but even we probably would never have had the chance to be together."
"Jane, since Nancy had the guts to drug me with an aphrodisiac, she has to be able to handle the consequences of my revenge."
"All of this is what she deserves. When I saw you covered in blood being rushed into the emergency room, I wanted them dead."
My words were firm, and Jane nodded, agreeing with my decision.
That's how this world works—if you show mercy to those who want to destroy you, you're being cruel to yourself.
The Gonzalez family pulled this stunt that almost ruined my reputation, almost took Jane's life, and made Jane and me lose our child.
My revenge on the Gonzalez family was far from enough.
This was just the beginning.
Over the next few days, I had plenty of free time. Besides spending every day with Jane, I was busy arranging our wedding.
Jane seemed very insecure.
She would always lift her innocent little face and keep asking me, "Andrew, we've lost our baby. Do you still want to marry me?"
I would reach out and pull her into my arms.
To give her a sense of security, I said, "Don't worry, I'm marrying you because I love you, not because of whether you can have children for me."
"Even without a child, I'll still marry you."
Jane's condition kept getting better. A month passed quickly, and our wedding was about to take place.
I thought I had handled everything, and our wedding would definitely go smoothly.
Unexpectedly, Thomas, who had lost the Gonzalez Group, showed up uninvited. He actually came to The Lopez Mansion, and as Jane's father, no less.
If he were just Thomas, I could have him thrown out of The Lopez Mansion without any hesitation.
But now, he was Jane's father.
Jane was my wife, so I had to consider Jane's feelings.
After Thomas arrived at The Lopez Mansion, he dropped his usual humble attitude. He sat boldly in my living room, enjoying the coffee brought by the servants just like he used to, all elegant and everything.
Jane and I came down from upstairs. When he saw me, he showed some fear, but when he saw Jane, a glimmer of hope lit up in his eyes.
He put down his cup and went straight to Jane.
"Jane, I'm your father, I'm your father."
Facing Thomas's enthusiasm, Jane backed away. I stood between them, using my tall frame to keep distance between them.
I used to call Thomas "Mr. Gonzalez" when I saw him.
But after everything that had happened, I couldn't bring myself to call him Mr. Gonzalez anymore.
"Thomas, please show some respect."
I looked at Thomas expressionlessly.
Thomas looked at me awkwardly, then sat back down in his seat.
He glanced at Jane and asked us, "I heard you're about to have your wedding?"
I nodded, "Yes, Jane and I have been married for three years. Now, it's time to let everyone in this city know that Jane is my wife."
Hearing this, Thomas nodded.
He looked at me and muttered, "But the Gonzalez family has gone bankrupt."
"What does that have to do with us? The Gonzalez family has done so many bad things, wasn't bankruptcy just a matter of time?" I said coldly to Thomas.
To get all of the Gonzalez family's assets, Thea had been using her own methods to deal with anyone who stood in her way since marrying Thomas.
First, she caused a car accident that killed Olivia's parents.
Then she used some of the Lopez family's old business rivals to set up an assassination attempt on me. But the real target of that attack was Olivia, who knew nothing about it.
Because Olivia had lost her parents, Melissa gave her extra care, which made Thea jealous.
And she could also use the assassination attempt on me to kill Olivia, making me carry the guilt all these years that Olivia had lost her life trying to save me.
So all these years, I had taken special care of the Gonzalez family. Whenever I could help the Gonzalez family, I was always at the front of the line.
Even when Thea proposed marrying Nancy to me, I agreed without hesitation.
I thought that by doing this, I was repaying a debt, repaying Olivia for saving my life. I never expected that I had fallen into Thea's trap.
Fortunately, I finally uncovered the truth and brought down the Gonzalez family. I guess the Gonzalez family got what they deserved.
Although Thomas wasn't directly involved in all these events, his unlimited tolerance of Thea showed his failure as a man.
I didn't know what he was here for today.
So I said directly, "Thomas, if you came to my house today to congratulate me and my wife on our upcoming wedding, then thank you."
"But if you're here to complain to us, I'm sorry, I'm not in the mood and don't have time to listen."
"Please see yourself out."
With that, I took Jane's hand, and we were ready to leave.
Seeing this, Thomas panicked immediately.
He quickly got up and blocked my way, stopping Jane and me. "Andrew, I'm Jane's biological father after all."
