Chapter 115 Chapter 115
Chapter 115 Chapter 115
Eric's POV
I stared at Tyler's moving lips as he blabbered something I didn't pay attention to. And when he was done, I asked. “Are you done?”
“Wait, you haven't been listening to me the whole time, dude?” He replied with widened eyes. I scoffed, returning my gaze to the document I was filling earlier.
“No, I wasn't.” I muttered. I finished filling the important information on the document and handed it to Sofia, my new assistant.
“Here you go, Sofia.”
“Thank you, Sir.” She flashed me a smile.
“Um, Sofia!” I called when she turned to leave the office. “Yes, Sir?” She turned to face me.
“Can you get me info about M&M Corporation? I'm longingly expecting to buy it.” I replied with a knowing smirk. She nodded immediately. “Sure, Sir. I will look into it and update you.”
“You can leave.”
“Okay, Sir.” She muttered before scurrying out. I didn't miss the look on Tyler's face as I gawked at him.
“What?”
“Did you just realize what you just said, Eric? You want to-”
I groaned, leaning on the arms of my chair. “You heard me right, Tyler. I'm sure you are not daft.”
“Dude, you aren't good to buy off his company, will you? You are practically doing the same thing he once tried doing to you.” Tyler drawled, splaying his hands. I wasn't moved or taken aback. I meant it when I said I'll get his company. Ever since Agatha disclosed everything to me, I didn't hesitate to deploy Bea despite how hard she pleaded with me for her job.
To be sincere, she deserved it. I never expected someone like her to be able to betray me at the end. She literally almost sold off my company to that bastard.
I was glad his cases were being read in the court and sooner, he'd be imprisoned... Getting what he deserved it.
I never thought I'd make it back here. There were times I hated myself, and had attempted to end myself while I was in the hell of a place called ‘prison’ but I kept being stopped by the people in there.
For the first time in my life since history, I never imagined I'd get to see Laura again. I had lost hope on finding her, until I saw her again.
“Are you even listening?” Tyler snapped a finger at me, drifting me out of my heavy thoughts.
“No.” I shook my head.
”There's something definitely wrong with you.” He rolled his eyes.
“Do you think I got a second chance, Tyler?” I suddenly asked, my brows furrowing with curiosity.
“Why say so?” Tyler threw back, munching on his chips.
“Well, I just think so. If not for Agatha, I don't know where, I would even be-”
“And that's why you should thank her continuously. I must say, she really surprised me with her act of bravery. I've been out of the country for a while, I never knew all these were going on. You didn't even bother to inform me.”
I gave a low growl, rubbing my chin frustrated. “I never wanted to bother you. It was baseless anyway.”
“Any news about Sasha yet?”
“She is still on the trail. It won't be long before she gets caught. I know of the only possible place she'd be hiding presently.” My lips twisted into a grin as I played with my pen.
“Where?” Tyler inquired, his voice calm and firm.
“Her family. Aaron can't help her at this critical moment, and she is worthless without him. She'd rather run into her own home and join her family.” I answered to him..
“So what are you going to do? She needs to pay for ruining you, and also killing Laura's Mom.” Tyler said, I nodded in agreement.
“I'm just going to need some help with the cops so she doesn't escape again. She'll face the consequences ofcourse.”
“But dude... Buying M&M Corporation? The public would see it as a repay for what he did.” He pointed out.
“And I don't give a damn about what the public says, Tyler. Don't you understand that? I'm going to buy it and enlarge my business.” I concluded, not wanting to push the topic further.
Thankfully, he budged to my request. “Alright. What do you need me to do?” He asked.
I ran my fingers on my lower lip, thinking of the next thing to do. I wanted all these mess to end. “We will go to Sasha's place the next day.” I declared.
“Uh?”
“Stop making me repeat things, Tyler!”
“Okay, okay. And then?”
“Leave the rest to me. I will be going there first, and I need you to bring the cops along with you. She has pending evidence against her.” I said to Tyler.
He nodded. “Okay, let's see how it goes.”
By the time I got home late at night, I met Agatha dozing off on the couch, Laura half awake as my eyes averted to the center table to see bottle of drinks and an empty pizza carton.
Has these two been drinking?
I walked to Laura who sobered in her sleep. I understood it immediately. Since Mrs Karma passed away, it has always been tough for Laura to get her peace of mind. She kept blaming herself for her death.
I crouched down to a knee, running my fingers into her hair softly. “Laura,” I called gently, my face etched with concern, and she whined in her sleep.
“Hey, it's me.” I whispered again.
I glanced at my sister to see her snoring loudly, snots dripping out of the side of her mouth. I gritted. ‘I'm going to fucking kill her.’ I thought.
“Eric?” Laura slowly called, and I gawked at her opened eyes which looked as if she was dizzy.
“Did you drink?” I asked to be certain. “No, I didn't. I only ate pizza while waiting for you to show up, but you didn't.” She replied.
I nodded and sighed in relief. At least, she didn't drink. Getting drunk at this stage of her pregnancy would be effective on our baby, and I was sure she was aware of the risk.
“Come on, let's go to bed.” I pulled her into my arms, heading upstairs to our room.
Silently, she giggled. “You should leave your beards on this way. You look freaking hot.” She blinked with sleepy eyes.
“No, I'm going to shave it.” I smirked as we climbed the stairs. She frowned. “You are such a jerk. I was only complimenting you.”
“And I accept your compliment, Ms Laura Karma.”
“Whatever, Mr Eric Sloan.”
I chuckled eagerly. “Come on, let's go to bed before you pass out again.”
The next day, the same day that Aaron was going to be getting the last hearing of the court, I was absent as I made it a primal to search for Sasha.
I was still driving when my phone rang, connecting to my ear-stud, I answered. “Tyler, what's up?”
“Have you set out to go?” Came Tyler's voice from the other end. “I'm on my way there.” I replied.
“What the hell dude? I thought you were only joking when you-”
“Joking? You thought I was bluffing, Ty?” I cut him off with disbelief.
“That's not what I meant. I will get the cops as planned.” He responded calmly.
“Good. Don't be late, I can't afford to lose her. You know the plan, Ty.” With that said and done, I hung up and resumed driving to the place.
In due time, I arrived at the little place which looked like an old apartment. Finding a perfect spot to park my car, I updated Tyler that I had arrived and strolled to knock on the door. I adjusted my face cap to prevent any side attraction.
When the door, it was an old woman who answered. “How may I help you, Sir?” She asked.
For a moment, I paused, staring down at her features. She looked so much like Sasha. Perhaps it was her Mother if I didn't guess wrong.
I cleared my throat. “I'm here to see Sasha. Is she around?”
The woman gave me a long look, her brows curved into worry then she nodded. “She's just in the kitchen. Hold on a little while I call her.” The woman answered, backing the door to leave.
“Aaron is that-” Sasha swallowed the rest of her words instantly when she beheld my presence. I wasn't smiling or grinning, I simply kept a blank expression.
“E-Eric?” She stammered.
“I'm glad you still remembered my name, Sasha.”
Like a whirlwind and unexpected, she fell to her knees and burst into tears. “Please... I don't want problems. I stayed away. I'm living a simple life now. I'm no more into bad things.”
“You don't want problems after them?”
“Please, have mercy. I promise I won't bother you guys anymore. I just want to live with my family. Please...” She was interrupted by the sound of the siren.
Her eyes widened. “T-The cops?”
“Get up. You're going to jail.” I clutched her tight before she could make any move to step back into the house.
Sasha cried and pleaded for forgiveness regretfully as the cops charged her with different discriminative evidence. Finally, the deed was done... She was given a long term imprisonment.
Little by little, everything started to fall into places, and at the end, the evil never prevailed... actually.
