A Date With My Jealous Mate

Bethany's POV

The scene I was looking at right now looks like a scene from a Korean drama where the rich heir was out to ask his love interest out. It was no different.

Carson was standing beside his car with a flower in his hands and a banner behind him reading 'Would You Go On A Date With Me Bethany Wayne?'. The scene was so surreal.

"I am so jealous of you, you are living my dream for me!" Anette whispered to my ears but it was more like a scream because she could not contain her happiness.

And it was like most of the people here could not contain their happiness because they were all giggling looking at Carson, who was standing beside his car that I did not have an intention to go and meet.

Carson walked to me like a charming prince and the afternoon sun basking in his skin added more radiance to his beauty that I could not help but giggle inwardly.

"Mate is really a catch," crazy Beth complimented and I also agreed. That was not a lie.

"Hi Miss Bethany, can I have the honor of taking you out on a date?" Carson asked and the people around her cheers heard that.

I do not know why this scene was familiar. Maybe because I have watched too many fictional stories I could already picture every scene in my mind.

I collected the flowers in his hands gently and I smelled it. I returned my look back to Carson's face that was awaiting your reply eagerly and I smiled.

"Of course I would go on a date with you," I say and the cheers of the crowd increased and I wondered how I gathered so many fans which meant there was going to be so much gossip the other day which I was not ready for.

He led me to his car and he ignited it zooming from the school premises and I knew people were going to talk.

The drive to the restaurant was far and before we got there the sin was already setting. I was amazed by the restaurant's beauty and I couldn't help but exclaim.

"This is beautiful, the owner must have put lots of work into it!" I exclaimed and I heard Carson chuckle. "That owner is me and it's not so much work, I just spend lots of money," he says taking my hands in his and leading me into the restaurant.

I was surprised by the realization of Carson owning the restaurant but I know it was not far-fetched he was rich anyway.

We got seated at one of the tables in the restaurant and I was surprised at how scanty the beautiful restaurant is but I could only imagine what was going on. He must have emptied it because of our dinner.

"Is the restaurant empty on purpose?" I asked and Carson nodded his head. "Yeah I hate eating around common people…," he was saying but he trailed off when he sensed something was wrong.

"I am sorry I do not mean it like that I just…" Carson tries to explain himself but I cut him off. "It's alright," I assured not wanting him to feel uncomfortable because it was really fine.

The waiter walked up to us handing over the menu and he kept a smile on which I found contagious and I had to compliment him. "You have a beautiful smile," I say also smiling and the waiter smiles even more brightly.

"Thank you…," he was saying but Carson's voice interrupted him. "Stop smiling, you are not allowed to smile," he growled and the waiter nodded his head in agreement.

I looked at Carson wondering what was going on and I noticed that he was glaring in anger. Was he jealous?

"Mate must be jealous if you compliment another man, he is so cute," crazy Beth says and I just chuckled because the feeling felt nice.

Carson placed an order for us because I asked him and after some time the food was delivered. Before the food was delivered we were both awkward with us just staring at each other so the waiter coming to drop the food was a gateway.

"So what is your favorite color?" Carson asked and I burst into laughter. "What was that?" I asked and he shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know what people ask each other on a date?" He asked and I smiled at his cluelessness.

His clueless bright warm feeling in my heart knowing he was ready to learn. "Then we should try…" I started giving him different ideas on how to keep conversation but we always had interruptions in between our talks, which was making it awkward.

"Look at this it looks like…," I was saying but I got cut off by Carson's phone ringing yet again for the third time in the evening and with the way his face got scrunched up I knew the call might take longer than expected and it was just as I thought.

"I am sorry but I really need to take this call, billions of dollars it's on the line," Carson begged me and I smiled gently telling him to go ahead to receive the call.

It was a billionaire dollars call after all.

“Make yourself comfortable, okay?" Carson says standing up leaving me at the table to eat alone and I felt completely awkward watching him leave.

I know that it was a business call that he had to take, a business call that was worth billions of dollars and he was going to do that in just a few minutes while I sat here drowning myself in wine.

Even though I do not want to feel inferior with what just happened I couldn't help it.

Our world was really different, I thought silently looking outside the restaurant and I was met with the city night view that looked great and also comforting….comforting to my grieving heart.
