Does He Rejects You

Bethany's POV

I stretch lazily on my bed after being woken up by my annoying alarm clock and I pry my eyes open gently.

It was already Monday, the weekend ran out fast with me getting swamped with love from Carson and I was trying to think maybe I did something wrong by agreeing to try it out with him.

I mean it's not a bad choice since he is my mate and it was only right we stay together but the unsettled feeling is still there. Like there was going to be a day when our social differences were going to be a huge setback in our relationship.

I do not why I am always worried about that but I know it was something to feel worried about since it was my reality.

A small school nurse being a mate to the CEO of a large group, it was definitely far-fetched but who am I to question the moon goddess? He was who I was mate to so I would try to see the match from a positive point of view.

I suspended my thoughts knowing I was going to get late if I did not start getting dressed for school but while getting dressed for school Carson texted so many times that I lost count and I decided to be polite by replying to them all.

You could say I enjoyed the attention the pampering from my mate sure is different.

I took the bus and I was lucky to get to school on time despite the time I wasted while replying to Carson's messages at intervals.

"Hey, Beth!" I heard Anette scream loudly, attracting the people's gazes to us and I wondered what was wrong with the girl. She walked towards me with an awkward smile already embarrassed by her actions.

"Good morning," I greeted her with a smile and I saw her give me a sly smile. "Good morning to you too!" She said and she immediately started looking around my neck to my collarbone and I wondered what she was looking for.

"What's going on? Why is this place clean?" Anette asked with a worry lacing her voice and I wondered what she was saying.

"What did you mean?" I asked because I was getting confused by the girl's actions with the passing minutes. "Your mark? It's missing," Anette says with panic and I hissed at her paranoia.

Is that why she has been going around acting weird making the people look at us like we have lost it?

"Anette it's…," I was about to say but Anette cut me off immediately. "Oh my goodness! I am so sorry, I do not mean to be insensitive," Anette apologized holding my hands and I was left in a state of confusion yet again.

"Did he reject you?" She choked on her words and I sighed wondering why the girl's imagination could run so wild. God, I have crazy friends!

"No!" I breathed out annoyed by the way Anette was jumping to conclusions and I could not help but try to pacify her claims. "What? He did not? Then why are you guys not mated yet? Don't tell me that stupid arrogant man is looking down on you?" Anette says and my wolf growled in annoyance not liking how Annette talked down on Carson.

I decided to speak up and clarify the situation and stopped Anette's imagination from running too wild. That was enough wildness, there.

"Let's go to my office. I will explain everything to you," I say, dragging Anette with me and she follows me like a dummy. After getting to my office I narrated everything that had been happening over the weekend to her as she listened attentively not trying to miss any details.

"So you mean instead of going straight to mating you, he decided to be a gentleman and wait for you to accept him?" Anette asked and I nodded my head.

"Oh my goodness, Mr. Arrogant is a gentleman!" Anette cooed and her expression was blissful. “I am happy for you girl," she said and I smiled.

After discussing for a little while we both parted ways and I started working too but Carson's messages come once in a while, a habit that I have gotten used to over the weekend.

“Mate is so amazing," Crazy Beth cooed and I agreed. During lunch, Carson asked about my evening schedule and I told him that I was free and after that, he stopped texting.

The day ran out quickly and it was all ready to get off and I started packing my bag since Carson had not yet replied to my messages. I decided to let him be. While packing my bags my office's door suddenly opened and I saw Annette panting heavily.

"What is wrong with you girl and why are you running so much?" I wondered what was wrong with my friend this time around.

"You need to come see this," she says with delight and I wondered what could have intrigued Anette so much if it's not handsome men. "What should I come to see now?" I asked completely uninterested.

"It's Carson…I mean Mr. Grey he is outside the school," she said giggling and I raised an eyebrow at what I heard.

"What did you mean by Carson is outside looking for me?" I asked in shock but Anette was too excited to say anything so she grabbed me by the hands and took me outside to see what was really happening using the word Seeing is believing.

After being dragged outside by Anette, I was surprised to find the kind of crowd that was in front of the school looking at something and immediately they saw me coming through. They parted ways for me to get through and the sight that faced me left me speechless.

Is that not Carson? What the hell is he doing? I thought about looking at him.
