Flirting Around
Caden turned to Alison. "If you say you want out, I'll open the door right away. If you say you don't, then Mr. Winston..."
His gaze fell on Jack. "If your own woman doesn't choose you, there's nothing I can do to help."
In the distance, a traffic police car was speeding toward them.
Its deafening roar gave Alison a headache.
Her breasts swelled with milk.
The sudden sensation made her feel anxious.
If she didn't find a place to express the milk within a minute, it would leak through her bra and clothes, which would be embarrassing.
She held out her hand toward Jack and said, "Give me the car keys."
"Huh?" Jack looked puzzled, jiggling the keys in his hand as he looked at her intently.
"My breasts are engorged—don't let anyone follow me!" She reached for the keys, only to discover that Caden had locked her side of the car.
However, the other door was open.
She shifted her body, pulled the door open, and dashed toward the Lamborghini.
The sequence of movements—getting in, settling into the seat, and starting the car—flowed seamlessly.
However, he still managed to block her path.
If Caden hadn't stretched out his arm to block Jack, Alison might not have made it into the car at all.
"Whoosh..." Caden let out a loud whistle.
Jack slammed his fist against the car and shouted, "Stop!"
Alison rolled down the window and said coolly, "I've outrun you once—we're even."
She stepped on the gas, and the car moved forward, pushing against the man's body.
Jack's eyes grew increasingly intense, but he finally sidestepped, and the Lamborghini shot out of his sight.
She left him stranded in the middle of the road.
Jack looked helplessly at the traffic officers rushing toward him.
Among them was Officer James.
He walked over, patted Jack on the shoulder, and asked, "So, did you handle it?"
Jack gave a wry smile. "Officer James, could I ask you for a favor?"
"Hmm?" Officer James looked puzzled; his curiosity was piqued.
"Take all the durians off the shelves at every supermarket, and from every street vendor in City S, now."
Officer James was momentarily at a loss for words.
"Jack, don't worry. I'll make sure every durian taken off the shelves is delivered to your home just as you wished." Caden pulled up in his taxi.
Jack froze for a moment.
He had been so preoccupied with worrying about Alison that he had forgotten to keep his distance from Officer James.
Fortunately, Alison hadn't seen his interaction with Officer James.
Otherwise, she would have surely guessed that he was involved with the police again.
There were strict regulations regarding this case—it couldn't be disclosed.
Under no circumstances could he say anything.
There was an informant infiltrating the other side.
If he made even the slightest mistake, the informant could be in danger.
"When's the race?" Jack changed the subject.
"You set the time. Let me know when you've decided," Caden said, eyeing Jack playfully.
He stepped on the gas, and the car sped off.
Only then did Jack realize that he was now without a car or any cash.
He pulled out his phone and called the subordinate who'd helped Alison retrieve her car. "Where's the car?"
"It's already been delivered to the villa."
"And you?"
"I just left a little while ago."
"Drive over to pick me up. I'm on XXX Street. Keep an eye out for the curb as you come."
"Huh, Mr. Winston, where's your car?"
Jack's look of exasperation deepened. "Do I need to repeat myself?"
His cold, detached tone sent a shiver down the subordinate's spine. "I'll be right there."
The rain was still falling—a drizzle carried by the wind that made it a bit chilly.
Only then did Jack remember the men's coat Alison had been wearing when she got out of the car.
It must be Caden’s.
Why did she take Caden's car?
Jack seemed to realize something and called his subordinate again.
"Mr. Winston, is there anything else?" his subordinate answered.
"Check the hidden compartment in the car and see if there's any loose change in there," Jack instructed.
"Okay, I'll check right away." The subordinate was puzzled but acted quickly.
"Don't hang up. I need to know the result immediately," Jack urged.
The driver searched quickly while driving.
Soon, he found some loose change in a hidden compartment next to the driver's seat. "Mr. Winston, there's a little over a hundred dollars. I'm driving, so I can't count it exactly. Should I bring it to you?"
Officer James walked over. "Mr. Winston, you might lose a few points and have to pay a small fine—just a token penalty. Do you have any other questions? If not, we're wrapping this up."
Jack looked at Officer James. "Can I talk to Alison..."
"Don't even think about it. These are the rules from above," Officer James cut him off.
Jack furrowed his brow.
If someone hadn't put a $50 million bounty on his head, he wouldn't have gotten involved in this at all.
Now, his wife was furious, and the consequences would be severe.
"I’m leaving," Jack muttered gloomily.
He crossed the street and walked along the path leading to the villa, waiting for his driver to pick him up.
Suddenly, his vision was filled with flowers of all kinds in a dazzling array of colors.
It was a small, elegant flower shop.
Recalling the furious look on Alison's face when she dumped him, Jack stepped into the shop.
"Sir, why not buy some roses? Blue roses are the best gift for a woman, though red roses aren't bad either. Which would you like?" The flower girl greeted him warmly.
