Chapter 274: “I’ve Fallen for You” (Part 1)
“Really?” Pierre asked.
“It’s true. Or I can call my husband right now.” To escape Pierre, Alison had to lie.
She’d assumed Pierre wouldn’t agree. But, to her surprise, he nodded.
“All right, I’d love to meet your husband. I want to see what kind of man could win over a beauty like you.”
Alison froze.
After two seconds of silence, Pierre chuckled.
“Go ahead, dial him. Didn’t you say your husband treats you well? Why are you afraid to call him now?”
His mocking voice echoed, infuriating her.
She turned away, walking off.
“Hey, you haven’t eaten yet. Don’t go.” He followed her, his domineering tone making her even angrier.
She didn’t run, knowing she couldn’t outpace him.
He caught up with her, and his shadow stretched across the snow.
His arm shot out toward her.
Alison jerked sideways, spun around, and slapped Pierre across the face.
The sharp crack drew the attention of passersby, but no one intervened.
Everyone assumed it was just a couple fighting.
Under the flickering neon lights, Alison could clearly see the red handprint on Pierre’s face.
Pierre raised his hand and wiped the blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.
He put his finger to his lips, licked the blood away, and chuckled.
“Huh, you actually dared to hit me. That’s… interesting.”
Alison was terrified and stumbled backward, but his piercing gaze made her falter.
“What’s wrong? Scared?” Pierre stepped closer, still wearing that cocky grin that sent chills down her spine.
“No,” Alison said, her voice trembling.
“Stop backing away. Or people might think I’m going to hurt you. Look at me—Do I look like the kind of guy who’d hurt a woman?” Pierre grinned.
“Pierre, what exactly do you want? We don’t even know each other, right?” Alison glanced around, desperate for help.
But no one stepped forward.
“Of course I know you. You’ve got a husband and two kids,” he said smoothly. “But I don’t care about your past—I only care about your future.
I want to date you. Do you understand?” He shouted, suddenly serious.
“Date? Pierre, are you out of your mind? I really—”
Before she could finish, Pierre pulled her into his arms.
His breath washed over her face. Though it was warm, her heart felt frozen.
“Let go of me.”
“Shh…” He placed a finger on her lips, silencing her.
“Don’t scream. I’ve fallen for you.”
“Huh? What did you say?” Alison stared at him, horrified—convinced she was dealing with a madman.
He removed his finger and touched his bruised cheek.
“You know what? You’re the first woman who’s ever hit me. I think I like that. Keep giving me this thrill until I get bored—otherwise, I won’t let you go. I don’t care if you have a husband or kids.”
Alison’s panic deepened.
Before she could move, his face suddenly leaned in, lips curving toward hers.
Just as Pierre thought he’d succeeded, a sharp pain shot through his mouth, forcing him to jerk back.
“What the hell do you want?” He seized Alison’s arm.
Alison bit down hard on her own lip, refusing to show fear.
With all her strength, she slapped him again.
Fresh blood beaded at the corner of her mouth.
The metallic taste filled her mouth, but she had nowhere to run—Pierre still gripped her wrists like iron.
He smirked.
“Tell me, what do you want? You think hitting me will tie my heart to you?”
“What a joke. I’m not interested in you at all. I bit you because I didn’t want you to kiss me,” Alison said coldly.
She yanked out her phone to call the police but hesitated—and instead called Judy.
The line connected.
Seeing Pierre’s pale, furious face, Alison found a flash of defiance.
“Judy, call the police for me. I’m at the Champs-Élysées—”
“Thud!” Pierre snatched the phone.
“No need. I’ll call myself.”
Without ending Judy’s call, he pulled out his own phone and dialed the police.
“Hello, this is Pierre. I’d like to report a crime. I’m on the Champs-Élysées… Let me see, where exactly? Hard to tell. Just call me when you arrive.”
