Chapter 213: Elegant and Alluring
“Exactly, Alison. His email address is only five letters: ‘apple.’ It’s rare to have such a short name these days. This person must have had that address for a long time.” Jack slid his mouse while admiring the photo of Alison on the screen.
“Darling, you’re beautiful.” The sudden remark made her heart skip a beat.
“Jack, enough now? Delete them,” she pleaded.
He didn’t want to delete them. Every frame glowed with a dreamlike beauty. Even the nude portraits felt far from pornographic. Instead, they radiated the elegance and allure of the female form.
“Alison, keep them. There’s something hidden in these photos.” He scrutinised each one, admiring her body and studying the photographer’s unique perspective. He hoped to find clues.
“Enough, stop looking,” she murmured in protest.
He turned and saw her blushing.
“Silly girl, why be shy?” He leaned down and captured her lips in a deep, passionate kiss.
“Mmm…” She pushed him away. “The kids aren’t asleep yet.”
It was the only excuse she could think of to reject him.
He released her lips but held her down, his intense gaze fixed on her. “It’s time to have another kid.”
His gaze left her nowhere to hide. When she tried to stand, he pressed her back down.
“Jack, let go of me, you bastard!” She kicked him.
He ignored her, stretched out his long legs, and pinned hers down.
“Only to you.”
“Jack, let me go!” She struggled.
He lifted her chin with a finger.
The slight fullness there made her look even more tempting.
“Alison, you look like a ripe apple, just waiting to be picked.”
“No, don’t say that,” she protested.
Just then, there was a knock at the door.
“Mommy, Daddy, hurry out! Tell a story for us!”
Jack frowned, unwilling to pull away from her.
Instead, he growled toward the door. “Go to sleep. Daddy and Mommy will be in your room soon to read you a story. Stop fussing.”
“Jack, let go of me.” Alison felt awkward. She could feel Sophia and Ethan’s eyes piercing through the door to watch them.
“No, not yet. Just a little longer.”
His movements deepened, a low growl escaping him, tremors running through her as his ragged gasps filled the room.
Outside the door, Sophia and Ethan continued talking.
Yet Jack managed to finish, ignoring them.
Alison slumped limply in the chair.
He scooped her up, carrying her into the bathroom.
In just a couple of minutes, he washed her body clean.
By the time he finished, her strength had returned slightly.
When she emerged wearing her house clothes, Ethan and Sophia were leaning against the wall, whispering to each other.
“Ethan, there’s only Dad in Mom’s heart now.”
“That’s a good thing,” Ethan replied.
“But what about me?” Sophia asked.
“Just wait,” Ethan said.
“Will you tell me stories then?” Sophia asked.
“No,” Ethan answered. He only knew how to listen to stories.
“Oh well, Mom must be busy with Dad. Otherwise, she wouldn’t take this long to come out,” Sophia sighed.
Alison blushed as she glared at Jack. It was all his fault that Sophia and Ethan had been waiting for so long.
“Sophia, Ethan, come on. Let’s go to bed,” she said.
“Mommy, you’re finally out!” The two little ones happily hugged her legs. “Mommy, sleep with us tonight.”
“No,” Alison said.
“Why not?” the children asked.
“Because Mommy is Daddy’s wife, and wives sleep with their husbands,” Jack stated matter-of-factly.
“Then, when Ethan gets married someday, won’t I be able to sleep with him, too?” Sophia asked.
“Of course not. But that’s for the future. You’re still little now—no need to think about that,” Alison coaxed.
She added, “Come on, it’s time for bed.”
Jack watched Alison and the children walk toward the bedroom — warm and cozy.
He took a step forward, intending to join them.
But just as he took a step, his phone rang.
“Mom, why so late?” he asked when he picked up.
“Jack, come to the hospital now!”
“What happened?” His heart sank.
“Aimée cut her wrists,” his mother cried.
“Is she in critical condition?” he asked.
“The situation isn’t clear yet, but she is in the emergency room.”
“Okay, I understand. I’ll be right there.”
