Chapter 204: Secret Love (Part 2)

Chapter 204: Secret Love (Part 2)
Seeing the dagger pressed against Aimée’s abdomen, her mother panicked.

Rushing over, she shouted, “Aimée, get that dagger away from you! Don’t do anything foolish! Don’t make me worry!”

The dagger glinted, sending a chill down everyone’s spine.

Aimée stared coldly at Alison. She wanted to kill Alison, as well as Jack, who had abandoned her.

“Aimée, put down the dagger,” Aidan pleaded, unable to bear witness to his child being killed in such misery.

Aimée met Aidan’s gaze, then lowered her eyes to her rounded belly.

I still have a sliver of hope, as long as Aidan remained silent and the child was still alive.

“Jack, if you don’t let go of Alison, I’ll kill your child.”

The scene stunned everyone present.

All eyes turned to Jack to see how he would respond.

Alison grasped Jack’s hand tightly. She looked tenderly at Aimée and whispered, “Jack, take the knife from her. What she craves most now is your attention. Whatever happens, we cannot stand by and watch your child suffer.”

Jack nodded, understanding Alison’s intention.

He released her hand and stepped toward Aimée reluctantly.

“Don’t… don’t come closer…” Aimée felt it was unreal that Jack was approaching.

“Aimée, look into my eyes. Live well, okay? I want our child to grow up healthy.” Jack soothed Aimée.

“Jack, save Aimée! She truly loves you!” Aimée’s mother was frantic.

“Auntie, rest assured. I won’t abandon her.”

“Jack, if you come any closer, I’ll really stab my belly,” Aimée warned, pressing the dagger deeper.

The blade instantly pierced the fabric, and crimson blood blossomed on her white dress like a startling flower.

Jack still smiled, his gaze gentle. He didn’t want to push things too far — after all, Aimée had silently loved him for six years.

“Aimée, do you remember our time in Paris? You were so happy and adorable back then. You were the angel in my eyes. You were kind and intelligent…” He strained to lower Aimée’s guard, hoping she would drop the dagger.

“Stop… Stop talking! I don’t want to hear it! I waited for you for six years, Jack. But treating me like this? You’ll regret it.” Aimée’s hand trembled uncontrollably. The bloodstains on her wedding dress spread out, sending shivers down the spines of those present.

Jack continued to advance, his voice soft. “Aimée, remember that bouquet of lavender? I liked you, but not love. I hoped you’d find your own happiness. I believe you can. You’re beautiful and kind, Aimée.” He took each step cautiously, afraid of provoking her.

This was all his fault. He shouldn’t have agreed to this wedding. Although Aimée had once called it a game, she was now deeply involved.

“Aimée, give me your hand. I’ll help you find happiness, okay?” Jack extended his hand, gazing at Aimée.

Just then, Sophia and Ethan’s voices echoed suddenly from the doorway. “Mommy… Daddy…”

It drew everyone’s attention.

Aimée instinctively looked toward them, forgetting the dagger in her hand for a moment.

Jack seized the moment, grabbing Aimée’s wrist and wresting the dagger from her grasp.

“Ah!” A shriek pierced the air.

Jack twisted her wrist hard. Aimée’s pale face contorted in pain as her arm dislocated. Aimée’s mother embraced her.

The dagger fell to the floor.

“Jack, thank you,” said Aimée’s mother.

“Aimée, don’t cry. You still have your dad and me. Come on; let’s go back to the hotel. It was a mistake to agree to this loveless marriage.” Aimée’s mother pulled her along and headed toward the hotel entrance.

Isabella gazed at Sophia and Ethan. Are they my grandchildren?

It was a blood bond, and she found them so adorable that they filled her heart with joy.
