Chapter 146 The Feeling of Love is Really Good
Jack greeted the kids, but he couldn't take his eyes off them. The feeling these two little ones gave him was unbelievable. He had just found out he had two kids this big, and he still couldn't quite believe it.
The kids happily drove off, and Jack turned around to find Alison still standing there, looking confused. He smiled and walked over, gently brushing her short hair. He felt like he was in a dream too. He had been to her flower shop and the hospital, confirming that these two kids were indeed his.
He remembered the last time they were together in that forest. In his anger, he hadn't given her any birth control.
Everything had happened so unbelievably.
He led her to a tree, wrapped his arm around her waist, and they sat down. He leaned against the tree, and she leaned against him. The gentle breeze blew, and the weather was a bit muggy. He saw beads of sweat forming at her temples and bent down to kiss them away, whispering in her ear, "Why didn't you tell me sooner?"
"Huh? What?" She was stunned.
"About the kids, and about you," he said.
"What... what do you know?" She suddenly got nervous. "What are you planning? You can't take my kids! You already have Aimée and your child with her!"
She said all this in one breath, convinced he knew everything. Luckily, she couldn't see his expression, or she wouldn't know how to handle it.
His lips still brushed against her hair as he said, "Tonight, let's take the kids to the apartment."
"No way." She immediately refused, trying to break free from his arms. Wasn't he about to get married?
She could bear the shame of being the other woman, but she couldn't let her kids suffer in such a painful environment. She had to protect them from any harm. Looking at Sophi and Ethan on the bumper cars, her heart was in turmoil.
But his arms only tightened around her. "Don't move. I'm not letting you run away again. You tricked me so badly, you owe me," he said boldly, without a hint of shyness.
"What? I didn't trick you. Let me go!" She couldn't understand his intentions and her mind was blank.
"You didn't steal Grandpa's will, did you?"
"Uh-huh." His voice was so gentle, like a spell, making her respond involuntarily.
"So, the one who really stole the will in the video was Emily, not you, right?" He asked again, even though he was sure, he couldn't help but ask.
Maybe, only by clearing everything up, she wouldn't be so panicked, and she would know he no longer resented or hated her.
Love and affection can arise in an instant and be understood in an instant.
After learning everything about her, he realized how much he wanted to see her.
Chasing her to the amusement park and seeing her with the kids again made his heart race, all because of her.
He didn't mind this feeling; in fact, he felt very happy.
This was his happiest day in years.
Yes, back at the bus stop, when he yelled at her, she had said it wasn't her.
But he had lost his mind then, unable to think, convinced she had stolen Grandpa's will, leaving him defenseless and forcing him to leave YD.
She turned quickly, her face close to his, anxiously asking, "Jack, what do you know?"
"The kids are mine, right? You're not Emily. You're the one who spent three months with me, using Emily's name, right?" he said.
She froze. It seemed he really knew everything.
She started twisting her clothes silently, not knowing how to answer him, her mind in chaos.
"Say it, don't lie to me. I want to hear you say 'yes.'" His fingers ran through her short hair, inhaling her scent, lost in it.
"Are you gonna take my kids away?" She didn't answer directly but voiced her deepest fear.
"Don't worry, I won't. They're our kids, aren't they?" He gently coaxed her, wanting her to tell him everything because there were still details he didn't understand, like why she entered his apartment and spent those three months with him.
His words finally made her relax. She nodded, bit her lip, and admitted, "Yes."
He smiled happily, and his smile was contagious. He didn't seem angry or intent on taking her kids away.
He turned to her, cupping her face, "How could you be so silly?"
"No, I'm not." She was still a bit confused, not understanding what he meant.
"Yes, you are." With that, he pulled her close, pressing her against his chest. Her body was so soft. He had missed her for four years, foolishly thinking she was Emily, but she wasn't.
Actually, he was even sillier and dumber than her.
But he would never admit that.
Love surged like a tide, so intense when it came, he couldn't resist.
Her head rested on his chest. Though it was a bit hot, she could clearly hear his heartbeat, so strong it made her heart race too.
"Jack, you don't blame me, do you?" His actions had already given her the answer. He shouldn't blame her.
"No, I don't." How could he bear to blame her? When he found out everything, he had already happily forgiven her for everything. "Alison, you didn't push Aimée, did you?"
"No, I didn't push Aimée." He believed her, which made her feel much better, as if his words erased all the grievances he had caused her.
She was such a soft-hearted person.
At this moment, her heart was especially soft.
"Why didn't you recognize me when you saw me again?" He felt puzzled, and not knowing the answer made him uneasy. He really wanted to know why.
"You said you didn't like kids, and you thought I was Emily." Since he already knew so much, she decided to tell the truth.
Back then, she hadn't revealed her identity to cover up those photos. Now, although the photo issue wasn't resolved, no one mentioned it anymore.
It felt good that he knew everything. She didn't have to act anymore.
As long as he didn't take her kids away, she was very happy, really happy.
She was always easily satisfied.
Heh, he used to dislike kids, but seeing Sophi and Ethan, he liked them very much.
"Silly, how could I not like my own kids?" He stroked her hair. Though he was a grown man, he felt like he was dreaming.
Her heart settled, leaning against him. This was a feeling she had never experienced before. He believed her, seemed to like her, and liked the kids. She never thought there would be such a change between them.
She didn't want to think about anything else.
At this moment, she was very content.
This sudden happiness made her forget all the humiliation he had put her through before.
Actually, being kept in the dark was the hardest part.
"Alison, I'm sorry." Remembering how he had treated her before, he apologized softly.
In the past two days, he had learned from an old YD employee that nothing had happened between her and his brother. It was all his brother's one-sided wish, and his brother had mobilized all his resources to persuade her to return to YD.
When he found out, he was overjoyed.
Love is selfish. He used to think he didn't love her and could give her to his brother, but now, he didn't want to. He wanted her and their kids.
