Chapter 58
When Susan heard I could help, her eyes lit up instantly.
The contempt that had flashed across her face just moments ago vanished in an instant.
"Nancy, I knew you'd find a way to help me. You're my best friend!" Susan grabbed my hand and wouldn't let go, as if I were her last hope.
Seeing her like this, I didn't immediately crush her hopes. Instead, I said somewhat helplessly, "Actually, if I had money, I definitely wouldn't use this method, but right now, this is all I can do."
Susan continued staring at me excitedly, as if in the next moment I would tell her a way to get money without any cost.
But this time, she was bound to be disappointed.
Forget being reborn—even without being reborn, after everything that had happened, if I still gave her money, I'd be truly stupid.
"This is someone I know who does loans. You said you'd be able to make the money back soon, right? Go find him, he'll definitely lend to you." I sent her his contact information. Susan's expression changed from initial excitement, and the way she looked at me became very complicated.
I sighed helplessly. "Susan, do you think I'm useless? I can't help it. Unlike you, who can make so much money on your own. Everyone thinks I'm some heiress, but actually I'm just a parasite who depends on others to live."
As I spoke, I angrily gulped down some coffee and let out a heavy sigh. "This is what I am now. Who knows what my life will be like in the future?"
Susan kept staring at me while I kept my head down, complaining sadly about how hard life was now.
Finally, Susan put away her phone. "It's okay. If you have any good money-making projects in the future, just tell me. I'll help you make money, and if I make money later, I definitely won't leave you out."
I "excitedly" looked up and grabbed Susan's hand. "Susan, do you really mean that?"
Susan coughed awkwardly. "Of course!"
The words came out of her mouth, but there wasn't a trace of sincerity in her eyes—only deception.
I slowly nodded and continued pretending to be emotional. "I knew it. You're my best friend."
Susan nodded reluctantly, but clearly, after discovering I couldn't help her, she made up an excuse and left.
I grabbed my bag and drove home.
Thinking about what Susan would face in the future, I couldn't help feeling happy. What should I do about that?
It even made me want to have a drink to celebrate.
But before I could open the wine, my hand was grabbed by a large hand. I looked up and found that Michael had come home at some point.
"Nancy." He murmured my name, moved closer to me, and hugged my waist.
I raised my eyebrows.
"I missed you so much."
Michael right now was completely different from how he was at the company. He grabbed my hand and wouldn't let go.
He even wanted to bury himself completely in my arms.
I frowned helplessly. "Come on! The servants are still here, and your parents could come back any time."
Seeing me embarrassed, Michael's attack became even more intense. He pressed me against the living room table, his hands sliding up and down. I couldn't help but widen my eyes. Was Michael really going to...
Doing it in the bedroom was one thing, but out here in the open—if someone came out, how awkward would that be?
When Michael unbuttoned my first button, I grabbed his hand. "Michael, no!"
Michael didn't care. He leaned down to look at me, his gaze slowly moving downward, finally settling on the rise and fall of my chest. His nose gradually moved down until it reached the highest point and wouldn't leave.
I just felt someone kissing my chest. I gasped and tried to grab Michael's head, but only grabbed a handful of hair. Holding this head that others couldn't even touch, my heart raced.
Michael seemed to be doing it on purpose, going back and forth on my chest. Even though I held his hand to stop him from unbuttoning, before long, my chest area was wet.
"Michael, someone's here," I reminded him again.
But Michael had the nerve to grab my breast with his hand. With one squeeze, my whole body shuddered.
Right now on the dining table in the living room, there was a different kind of thrilling feeling, like having an affair.
"Nancy, you spent so much time with Susan. Can't you spend some time with me too?" Michael was still acting wronged, but I could see right through his clumsy act.
"Why I went to see Susan—don't you know? Michael, do you really want to?" I grabbed Michael's hand, climbed up from the dining table, and went nose to nose with him, our eyes only seeing each other.
I slowly slid up along his arm, finally reaching his shoulder, his broad chest, his abdomen, and then...
When I grabbed his belt, the man's body trembled, as if he'd been greatly wronged.
"How about it, Michael? Do you want to?"
Michael took a deep breath. "Nancy, stop it!"
I snorted. "You started it!"
Michael hugged me, resting his chin on my shoulder, saying somewhat helplessly, "I just wanted to add some excitement. My parents went out today, and I sent all the servants away. There's no one here. In this house, it's just the two of us."
Seeing that I still wasn't saying anything, Michael continued holding me. "Nancy, don't be mad. As long as you're not mad, I'll do whatever you want!"
I hummed twice. "What if I want all your money?"
Michael grinned. "Whatever you want, I'll give it to you!"
With that, Michael picked me up directly. I naturally wrapped my arms around his neck and followed his rhythm as we went upstairs together.
The man was very strong, and in his arms, I felt extremely safe.
A week later, I got a phone call at work.
"Since she's so eager to make money, let's help her out." After hanging up, my mood improved quite a bit.
Because this was the gift I'd prepared for Susan!
Over the next week, that company would have serious financial fraud and illegal operations exposed, and Susan's so-called project would vanish into thin air overnight.
As for the money?
Money that went overseas—how could it come back so easily?
After all, domestic authorities couldn't control foreign matters. This time, Susan was bound to be trapped. I just wondered if the relationship between her and John would still be as good as before.
