Chapter 35 Enemies all around
THIRD PERSON'S POV
On the 13th floor of a posh hotel, a man in blue ripped jeans and a white shirt with sleeves rolled to his elbows leaned forward with a smirk.
The tip of his dagger was pointed to another man's neck who was kneeling before him.
“Sir, we have found out about Miss Angelica,” A subordinate rushed inside the hotel room.
A victorious glint appeared in the man’s eyes who had been pressing his dagger on the culprit’s neck.
“Is that so?” He tilted his head and pressed the dagger further into the culprit's neck until it went through it.
Blood splurged on the expensive carpet, staining it and his shirt with the red ink of the human’s vital liquid.
“Yes, sir,” the subordinate trembled slightly at the gruesome sight before him.
Jarvin turned to look at the man whose voice faltered before turning to his right-hand man.
“Is he one of us?” Jarvin asked. How dare one of his men show weakness before such a minuscule amount of blood?
“I am sorry, sir. I should've trained him better,” Carlos, the right-hand man, whispered apologetically.
Jarvin scoffed before he wiped the blood off of his dagger and dipped it in the alcohol glass on the table to clean it.
“What have you found out about my love?” Jarvin asked.
The subordinate looked at Carlos to determine the right time to speak. When he received the approving signal, he stepped forward.
“Sir, Miss Angelica is working in Martino Empire Corporation. It is run by twin brothers Dylan and Ericson Martino– " The subordinate started but paused when Jarvin raised his hand.
“Since when was I interested in a bunch of men? I asked you about my love,” Jarvin said.
The subordinate nodded quickly before changing his words.
“Sir, Miss Angelica is working as a secretary there. She has indeed changed her residence because she is required to live beside the bosses and be available for them whenever they need it. The location of their residence is unknown, but she was seen at a company event in a restaurant today. There she –” The subordinate paused again.
He didn't know how to deliver the next piece of news without having his head severed.
Jarvin raised his brows at him, and it was enough for him to start speaking again.
“Sir, it looks like one of the brothers confessed his feelings to her, and she accepted,” The subordinate said.
Jarvin, about to light his cigarette, froze.
Did he hear it right? She accepted the proposal?
Even with so many wonderful gifts and efforts from him, did she accept someone else's proposal? How could she act so cruelly towards him?
Were his gifts not unique and interesting?
He ruffled his hair before asking Carlos to call the man who delivered the gifts to her.
The men soon were lined up before him, and he glared at them.
“Who delivered the gift at her apartment?” Jarvin asked.
One of the men stepped forward with a hesitant gaze, his head bowed in submission.
Jarvin raised his cane and placed it over the man's head before raising the metal stick and hitting the subordinate's shoulder.
Everyone winced at the site, but no one dared to make a sound.
“Because of your poor presentation, she didn't like my gift and rather accepted someone else's proposal,” Jarvin blamed before he dismissed the men and turned to his right-hand man.
“Carlos, I want all the information about where she goes and what she does in her free time. I guess it's time to let her know who she belongs to. Ronaldo hindered my plans last time, but I won't let it happen again,” Jarvin licked his bottom lip as he gazed at the large screen that displayed Angelica’s photo.
He wiped his cane and removed his shirt, his tattooed chest glistening with sweat from his earlier physical activity.
“The plan should be ready before I return,” Jarvin said. He entered the bathroom, taking off his pants and boxers before relaxing in the jacuzzi bathtub.
He used the remote at the counter and turned on the projector in the bathroom, which displayed Angelica's photo on the ceiling. A smile appeared on his face.
“Do you enjoy seeing me like this when I bathe? All of these are your favorite tattoos. Everything you like is by my side and on me. How can you accept someone else's proposal?”
It was difficult for Jarvin to understand that, despite his efforts, the woman he loved was marrying another man.
The thought alone was enough to enrage him.
At the same time, in the redwood forests, the leader of the rogue group sat at the stone. His gaze was dark after he heard that one of his men had been captured by Ericson and tortured.
These brothers were more like thorns in his life as they were destroying his plans time after time.
Not only were they hindering their business with foreign smugglers, but they were also an abomination to their presence in the state. This put them in a tough spot, especially after all the money they spent on their head base and establishment in the state.
“Sir, I won't let this slide. They captured my brother. Not only did that jerk torture him, but he also spread the video of the torture all across the globe through the forum. I won't let this humiliation slide,” The leader’s subordinate stepped forward, making him sigh in return.
“Don't worry. I won't let it slide, either. First, try to find out if these brothers have any weaknesses around them. Let's get hold of their sensitive spot and strike them where it would hurt the most,” the rogue leader Keith said as he looked at the hideous video of his man being tortured by Ericson.
“Sir, there is indeed one girl that has been seen a lot around the brothers. She is just their secretary. They might be protective of her because she is just a human, but they are quite possessive and protective. They even broke the deal with the Dronas over something that happened to the girl at one of their parties,” The subordinate said.
Keith nodded thoughtfully but didn't say anything else. Going as far as breaking the deal for a girl didn’t make it seem like a simple matter.
“Any information about the deal with the Michaelsons?” Keith asked.
When his subordinate didn't reply positively, he hummed and walked towards the forest's exit.
“By the way, these pack wolves are hell-bent on rules and regulations because they are afraid the revelation of their identity would put them into jeopardy with humans, right?” Keith asked.
When his subordinates nodded their head, a smirk appeared on his face.
“Then would it make them go crazy if the girl they are protective and possessive of finds out they are the very monsters she should be running from?” Keith asked, his eyes glinting coldly.
