Chapter 61
Charlotte coldly refused, "You should just go with Mandy."
"You promised me."
Alexander looked a bit disappointed, "You can't go back on your word."
Charlotte shot back, "When did I promise you?"
"Yesterday, when I said I wanted to go to the amusement park with you, you didn't refuse, did you?"
Alexander said seriously, "Since you didn't refuse, that means you agreed. You can't go back on your word. Get in the car."
Charlotte was completely won over by his twisted logic.
Whatever.
She had originally planned to visit her grandparents' graves at the cemetery today, but last night when she learned that Victoria had bought that plot of land at the cemetery, she changed her mind and didn't want to go so early.
The Johnson family bunch would definitely be waiting at the cemetery gates once they found out, wanting to question her about how she got that land.
She was happy to let them wait for nothing, so she directly pulled open the car door and got into Alexander's car.
Alexander smiled and was about to lean over to fasten her seatbelt.
Charlotte pushed his hand away, "I'll do it myself."
"This seatbelt is really hard to fasten."
Alexander didn't let go, instead placing one hand gently on Charlotte's shoulder and leaning over.
He was practically pressing his whole body against Charlotte as he fastened her seatbelt.
Alexander's embrace carried a faint sandalwood scent, with a cool and steady quality.
Charlotte didn't know why, but she particularly resisted close physical contact with people.
Yet smelling Alexander's scent, she surprisingly didn't feel repulsed.
While Charlotte was lost in thought, Alexander had already finished fastening it and turned to look at her with a slight smile, "Why didn't you move away or push me off?"
He was very close, so close that just a few more centimeters and they would kiss.
Charlotte's breathing quickened, her warm breath brushing against Alexander's face.
Alexander's eyes gradually deepened, "Why is your breathing so fast?"
As he asked, he reached out his thumb and gently caressed Charlotte's lips, "Can I take this to mean you want to kiss me?"
Charlotte swatted his hand away and turned her head, her ears already completely red.
"Can you stop talking so much nonsense? Move."
Alexander didn't move away, instead kissing her cheek at lightning speed.
The moment his warm lips touched her cheek, Charlotte's whole body went numb and she froze.
Furious, she turned her head, about to slap Alexander.
Alexander didn't dodge, even leaning his head forward with a sincere look of admitting his mistake.
"I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself just now and took advantage of you. Go ahead and hit me, no matter how you hit or scold me, I won't fight back."
Looking at his shameless appearance, Charlotte was completely at a loss.
Angrily, she pushed Alexander away, "Are you going to drive or not?"
Charlotte crossed her arms, pulling up her full defensive posture.
Alexander laughed happily and directly stepped on the gas, taking her to the amusement park.
After arriving, he opened the passenger door for Charlotte.
Before they could get out, a figure came running toward them.
"Alexander!"
Charlotte looked and saw it was Mandy.
Today she wore a very pink and cute short dress, stepping in pearl-white high heels, looking both innocent and sexy, making her long legs look very slender.
Mandy ran toward Alexander, "Why did you come directly without waiting for me? I thought you didn't want to come to the amusement park anymore."
As she spoke, she still looked at Charlotte warily, "Ms. Johnson came too."
Mandy pulled two pieces of bread from her bag and handed one directly to Alexander.
"You came so early, you definitely didn't eat breakfast, right? I prepared some bread for you..."
Before she could finish, Alexander took the bread and directly handed it to Charlotte beside him, "You didn't eat breakfast, right? You eat it."
Mandy panicked, "That was for you, how can you give it to her?"
"Why can't she eat it?" Alexander asked back.
Mandy didn't know what to say, could only bite her lip tightly, looking completely unhappy.
But what made her even more upset was that Alexander had no intention of talking to her at all, constantly taking care of Charlotte.
Every time they went to an attraction, as long as Charlotte said she wanted to try it, Alexander was willing to.
If Charlotte said she didn't want to do something, even if Mandy wanted to, Alexander ignored her and directly led Charlotte forward.
Charlotte was wearing comfortable sneakers, and Alexander was tall and kept up easily.
Only Mandy, wearing small heels, had her heels rubbed raw after just a few steps, hurting so much she grimaced.
"Alexander, wait for me! Wait for me!"
Alexander acted as if he couldn't hear, accompanying Charlotte as they turned a corner and went far away.
Mandy stamped her feet in anger, hating Charlotte even more.
'Charlotte is just pretending to be aloof, acting like she's cold to everyone and especially uninterested in Alexander!
But actually, she's trying to steal Alexander away!
No way, I have to find a way to get Alexander's attention back!
I absolutely won't allow anyone to take Alexander away!'
Mandy thought for a moment, then turned and left.
...
After one roller coaster ride, Charlotte's expression was unchanged, completely opposite to the people around her who were crying and scared.
Alexander's face was slightly pale, forcing himself to stay calm as he walked up to her and asked quietly, "Was it fun? Want me to ride it with you again?"
Charlotte found it funny, "If you're afraid of heights, don't force yourself."
"Who's afraid of heights?"
Alexander said without hesitation, "I can ride it with you again, I'm not afraid of heights at all."
"Really?"
Charlotte looked at his rapid breathing and slightly pale face, finding it even more amusing.
"Okay, then come bungee jumping with me later."
"Bungee jumping?" Alexander froze.
Charlotte deliberately asked back, "Aren't you not afraid of heights?"
Alexander took a deep breath, as if making some kind of decision.
"Okay, then I'll go with you."
Now it was Charlotte's turn to be stunned. She thought Alexander would refuse directly, but didn't expect him to actually tough it out.
She pursed her lips, "Forget it, let's ride that instead, that's more suitable for you."
Charlotte was pointing at the carousel.
Alexander smiled, "You want to ride the carousel with me that badly? Only couples ride together."
Charlotte's face was expressionless, "Never heard that. Then I'll ride by myself, you don't come."
"Don't."
Alexander was about to follow when several people lined up behind Charlotte.
The ride was exactly full, so he didn't have a chance to get on and could only stand outside watching.
The carousel started turning.
Alexander unconsciously stared, his eyes only seeing Charlotte with her faint smile.
He took out his phone wanting to take a photo.
Just then, the carousel Charlotte was sitting on suddenly started to loosen.
Bang!
With a loud crash, the horse Charlotte was sitting on somehow suddenly broke apart.
Charlotte was thrown off uncontrollably!
