Chapter 706: I Want to Become Your Woman
Chapter 706: I Want to Become Your Woman
Leah looked at him in confusion, not understanding what was going on. Things had felt so good just moments ago - why was he pushing her away?
Kevin turned his head, saying with a hint of regret, "Ms. Sinclair, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have touched you. When we get back, I'll accept whatever punishment Mr. Sinclair gives me."
Just now, he had really lost his head, unable to resist kissing her.
Leah gently turned his face back toward her with both hands, her lips slightly pouting, her eyes looking at him pitifully.
"Kevin... you do like me. Please stop denying it, okay?" Her tone was soft with a touch of charm. "Kevin... when you kissed me just now, what did you feel?"
"Ms. Sinclair, you don't understand men. We can kiss without love." Kevin pulled her hands down and said, "Don't go around kissing men on your own from now on. It's dangerous for you."
Leah tilted her head, looking at him with a playful glint in her eyes. After a moment, she said, "You know what? I like taking risks. The more dangerous something is, the more I like it!"
Kevin's brow furrowed slightly, sensing she was about to do something reckless.
As soon as she finished speaking, Leah reached behind her back and pulled down the zipper of her dress. She slipped off the dress, revealing her underwear.
Kevin was startled and quickly turned his head away, saying in a serious tone, "Ms. Sinclair, please have some self-respect!"
Leah moved forward a bit more, forcefully turning his face back toward her, and said earnestly, "Kevin, let's make love. I'm willing."
She didn't care what others thought. She didn't believe he could keep resisting.
Kevin clenched his jaw, reaching out to push her away. "Ms. Sinclair, put your dress back on."
Leah bit her lower lip hard. Seeing him looking down, refusing to look at her, she felt a surge of determination and suddenly leaned forward, kissing his lips again.
"Kevin, I'm willing!"
As an heiress, Leah was very proud. To go this far was already way beyond her limits.
Kevin was shocked inside. Enduring great pain, he pushed Leah away firmly, holding her shoulders and saying, "Ms. Sinclair, don't do this. Don't degrade yourself."
"I'm degrading myself?" Leah felt humiliated and asked sadly, "Why do you think I'm doing this? It's because I love you! I want to give myself to you. I want to be your woman!"
Kevin looked deeply into her eyes. "Ms. Sinclair, I won't take you. Not now, not ever. Put away these ideas."
"Kevin, you just won't admit you love me, will you?"
Her face flushed red. This was the first time she had undressed in front of someone she liked, only to be rejected. Her self-esteem took a massive hit.
"I don't love you." Kevin made his meaning clear, then helped pull her dress back up.
Leah angrily pushed his hands away. "I don't need your help!" She then turned around and put her dress back on.
She quietly moved back to her spot, turning her back to Kevin, her head resting weakly against the cave wall.
The firelight cast a red glow on her profile. Kevin watched her, as if she were burning in the flames.
His feelings were complicated too. He knew Leah's personality - she had always been as proud as a princess. When she took off her dress, she must have made a huge decision. And he had undoubtedly hurt her. But what else could he do? Besides restraining himself and rejecting her, there was no other choice.
Don't knights always follow silently behind their princesses?
Soft sobbing echoed in the cave. Kevin saw Leah's shoulders shaking. He wanted to say something comforting, but after moving his mouth a few times, he said nothing.
After crying for a while, Leah wiped her tears with her hand and said painfully, "I get it now. You don't like me, you won't have me. I understand everything. I won't force you anymore. It was my fault. I've figured it out too - if I can't be with the person I like, what difference does it make who I marry?"
Seeing her give up on herself like this, Kevin spoke up, "Ms. Sinclair, life is still long. You'll meet someone you love. Marriage isn't child's play - you need to be careful."
"I know I'll meet someone I love later. But you know what? I've given you all my passion, all my love. Even if I meet someone I love in the future, I'll never be as passionate or love as deeply again."
She laughed bitterly. "Love without passion - that actually suits marriage. I might as well pick one of the guys my mom introduced me to. That Mr. Scott from today wasn't bad. I'll bet I'll be happy with him."
"Marriage isn't gambling." Kevin's tone carried a hint of irritation.
Leah sneered, "I'm not gambling. My heart is dead. Kevin, you don't love me, so you have no right to tell me these things!"
Yes, he had pushed her away - what right did he have to tell her what to do? Thinking this, Kevin closed his mouth.
When Leah heard no more from him, as if he had accepted her words, her heart felt like it was stuffed with cotton, making it hard to breathe. How she wished he would tell her loudly: Leah, I have the right - I do love you!
But those words were just her fantasy. Maybe he really didn't love her. Like he said, he was a man, and men only talk about sex, not love!
The rain poured down all night. Leah didn't know when she fell asleep. When she woke up again, the fire beside her had gone out.
Sunlight streamed in - the sky had cleared. Kevin wasn't in the cave. Her heart suddenly tightened, and she called his name twice. But then she guessed he must have gone out to find a signal, and thinking this, she felt reassured.
Sure enough, Kevin soon returned.
"Ms. Sinclair, David is heading this way. Let's go." As Kevin spoke, he walked over and squatted in front of her, ready to carry her on his back.
Leah said, "No need to carry me. My ankle is better. I can walk on my own."
"The mountain path is rough here, and it just rained. Some places are still slippery. It's safer if I carry you."
"I said I don't need it!" Leah raised her voice.
Seeing this, Kevin didn't insist. He just stood up and watched her slowly get up, moving with difficulty.
"Do you need me to help you?" he asked.
"No!" Leah said stubbornly, then picked up an unburned branch from the ground to use as a walking stick.
The two left the cave and slowly headed down the mountain. Leah's injured ankle hurt a bit, so she walked slowly. When they reached steep sections, she didn't want Kevin to help her, making everything awkward.
Finally, Kevin couldn't stand it anymore. At this rate, they wouldn't get out even by nightfall!
"Ms. Sinclair, no offense." After saying this, he grabbed the branch from her hand, threw it aside, quickly squatted down, wrapped his arms around her legs, and lifted her onto his back.
"Hey! What are you doing? I don't need you to carry me!" Leah kicked and yelled, struggling on his back trying to get down.
Kevin held her legs tightly, letting her struggle, and picked up his pace heading down the mountain.
