Chapter 701 Your Mother-in-Law Has Gone Crazy
Chapter 701 Your Mother-in-Law Has Gone Crazy
Caspian whispered to him, "Today is my wedding, just say it."
Tom looked grief-stricken and furious, glaring at Shirley's smug smile through gritted teeth. "Fine, I'll say it!"
He looked at Shirley, suppressed his anger, and slowly said, "I'm the loser, I'm the loser, I'm the loser!"
Three times, crisp and clear.
Shirley smiled with satisfaction. "That's more like it!" She then took the shoes out of her bag and handed them to Caspian.
Caspian grabbed the shoes and hurried back to the room to put them on Wendy, then carried her out of the house. Everyone followed them out.
Shirley also rushed out, but Tom grabbed her and said viciously, "You remember this - I'm not done with you!"
"Of course I'll remember, loser!" Shirley snorted through her nose and walked away.
Tom was so angry his lips pressed tight together, his hands clenched into fists!
Caspian and Wendy's wedding was held at the estate. The guests were already seated, waiting for the couple.
Under the floral arch, Wendy held Patrick's arm, waiting for the ceremony to begin.
Patrick looked serious, occasionally raising his hand to wipe sweat from his forehead.
"Dad, are you nervous?" Wendy asked quietly.
Patrick swallowed. "I'm okay."
Wendy looked ahead at Caspian, who stood there waiting for her. She said to Patrick, "Dad, I'm really grateful to you. Without you, Caspian and I wouldn't have gotten here so quickly. Dad, I love you."
Patrick's eyes grew warm. He took a deep breath and slowly let it out. "Silly girl, you don't need to thank me. I just want you to be happy. I love you too."
Wendy clutched Patrick's sleeve tightly and responded firmly, "I will be happy!"
The wedding march began, and father and daughter walked forward slowly. Caspian faced them, his eyes fixed on Wendy, a smile on his lips.
When they reached him, Patrick placed his daughter's hand in Caspian's, patted it twice meaningfully, nodded slightly, then turned and went back to his seat.
Before the minister, the couple both loudly said "I do!"
After the ceremony came the MC, and the atmosphere became more lively. The questions were tricky and funny. After some joking around, parents from both sides were invited up to speak, offering their blessings.
Then the wedding banquet began.
Wendy returned to the dressing room to change into her toast-making outfit, letting out a long breath. "The ceremony is finally over. I was so nervous."
The makeup artist touched up her makeup, smiling. "Mrs. Wade, you did great. On camera, you looked especially beautiful. You and Mr. Wade both look great on camera, like celebrities. By the way, I saw several media outlets live-streaming your wedding."
"Really? I had no idea," Wendy asked in surprise.
Lillian sat nearby, holding Henry in her arms and feeding him cookies. "You didn't know? The live stream had super high viewership! All the comments are saying how beautiful you are!"
"No way? Caspian never mentioned it." Wendy cupped her face in her hands. "Did I make any weird gestures or faces?"
"No, everything was perfect!" The makeup artist pulled her hands down and dabbed more powder on her face.
Pearl came over, showing her phone. "Wendy, look, people online are already posting clips. Look at yourself - you look great, fresh and elegant. Everyone's saying you're beautiful."
Wendy took the phone and watched herself and Caspian standing there, occasionally smiling at each other sweetly. She actually looked pretty good - a peaceful smile, gentle and soft.
"See? Pretty good, right?" Pearl asked.
"Not bad." Wendy relaxed. "No weird gestures."
Shirley said, "Ready? Let's go make the toasts."
There were many guests. Some were eating, others standing around chatting. Caspian and Wendy, followed by the bridesmaids and groomsmen, went around toasting and thanking everyone.
Samantha and Leah had come and were sitting under a parasol at the edge, both looking unhappy and ignoring each other.
Lillian came over with Henry and William, smiling. "Why are you sitting here? Haven't you eaten anything?"
Samantha took one of the children and asked, "Where's Alexander?"
"Dad's here too, chatting with him."
"Let me guess - he brought Beatrice?" Samantha asked angrily.
"Dad seems to have come with Beatrice. Blake and Kade came too," Lillian said weakly.
Samantha slammed the table. "Is this attending a wedding? I think he just came to show off his kids! Damn Ethan, you have no consideration for my feelings at all!"
"Mom, don't be angry. There are so many people here, just avoid them," Lillian coaxed, then turned to Leah. "Leah, take Mom to get some food."
"I'm not going!" Leah turned her head away irritably.
Seeing this, Lillian asked, "What's going on with you two?"
"What else? Your mother-in-law has lost her mind!"
Samantha got upset. "Leah, watch your language. How has your mother lost her mind?"
"You're pushing me to date to the point of obsession!" Leah shouted at her.
Samantha said, "I'm doing this for your own good! You can't find anyone yourself and won't listen to the family's arrangements! Let me tell you, the man I'm introducing you to later has a great temper. You better not be cold to him!"
"I won't do it! Mom, I'm telling you again - it's not that I can't find anyone. I have someone I like!" Leah said seriously.
"So what if you like him? I have to like him too! Or rather, he needs to have good qualities for me to agree. Otherwise, forget it!" Samantha said bluntly, then added, "And people like drivers or cooks - don't even think about it. If you dare bring someone like that home, don't blame me for fighting with you!"
'Driver... she must mean Kevin, right?' Lillian thought to herself. 'But Kevin isn't just any driver... Good qualities? Samantha has accepted me now, so what were my good qualities? Did I have good qualities because I gave the Sinclair family twins? Anyway, I really feel for Leah - she doesn't even have the right to pursue her own happiness.'
Hearing this, Leah smiled coldly. "Mom, I've never seen you really angry. I'd like to give you a chance to perform!"
