Mariah
Faced with all the chaotic madness that was going on, I feared every step I took, aiming and firing, the bullets falling seemed to have no end while the bag began to get light in an attempt to protect itself almost all the castle guards seemed to have died and the corridors carried a dark shade of red staining the castle walls and my memory.
We reached the throne room where Acácio said there was a hiding place under the throne which seemed to be the safest place in the castle, I looked around alertly with my body rigid, watching as Acácio began to push his throne which seemed too heavy Soraya looked to the side like me and a single face appeared walking towards us she raised her hand.
I aimed at her and Soraya did the same.
"Don't shoot!" She shouted, "I'm not going to hurt you!"
"Weren't you the one who broke down the castle gates?" asked Soraya, not at all convinced by the witch's words.
"Where's Alexia?" She asked, frowning.
"What do you want with the princess? Tell me before I blow your head off."
"That shoddy weapon won't hurt me, you don't stand a chance against Camila either, so let me help you!"
Soraya looked at me frowning and in a split second, I understood her expression and took quick aim, just like her.
As the bullets fell to the ground and failed to pass through Raila's barrier, she continued walking, crossing the barrier and coming towards us.
"Damn it!" Acácio shouted nervously and Soraya turned to help him.
"We'd better open it soon or we're all going to die," said Soraya.
I aimed my gun again, determined to fight to the end.
"Don't take another step, I'm warning you"
"Stop being thick Mariah, you've never been small-minded," she said as if she already knew me. I kept looking at her steadily, knowing that witches had their tricks to play. "I'm Raila, the last witch in the Alencar family who can see the future, I've come for the lady of fire."
"You'd better tell me what you know"
"I'm not hiding anything" she said with a firm voice, she raised her hand and the throne began to move.
Acácio and Soraya stopped and looked at her, the witch really was on our side. I looked at her without understanding.
"Why? I don't understand..."
"I don't have long to live, bring me the Lady of Fire, only she can save me and then I'll help you!" Raila said, she walked towards us and gradually the door under the throne was exposed, but then she stopped and put her hand on her neck, she was running out of air.
I looked at him and saw that his choker was starting to close as she tried to pull it off.
"Damn you!" Said a blonde-haired woman entering the room "I knew you'd betray the king".
She entered the place and then I realized that she was Zaim's other witch and I turned around.
"Push again!" I shouted and Acácio threw his body against the throne, why such a heavy throne?
The door was almost exposed, if only the handle had appeared it would have been enough to open and pass through.
The witch raised her hand and Acácio flew away, crashing into a pillar. Soraya ran towards him in desperation.
"Darling, get up!" She asked, slapping his face, trying to revive him, but Acacio was unconscious. Soraya turned and stood in front of him and said to the witch, "Take me, but spare his life!"
The witch laughed and walked towards her, at a calm pace only her heels could be heard in the hall.
I shot her, who turned quickly and held the bullet between her fingers as if it were nothing, threw it on the floor and hit her hands, then started towards me and stepped on Raila who was starting to suffocate from the chain around her neck, standing with her foot on Raila, she ducked a little.
"Do you really foresee the future, Raila? Why did I see a bright future for you in Zaim and for no reason, you chose to die in the enemy's hall turning your back on your king?" She kicked her causing Raila to spin a little on the ground and looked at me making me nervous, I shot again and again, but nothing seemed to stop her, she was still coming towards me and then I heard the scream of Soraya who had taken Acacio's sword to stick it in the witch's back.
A tension and silence hung in the air, the woman turned to Soraya and I could see the sword on her belly.
"Soraya!" I shouted in desperation and ran towards her, only to be thrown as far away as a rag doll falling meters to the ground.
The witch took the sword out of Soraya's belly and was about to stick it back in when Acacio grabbed the sword from her hand, she looked at him with disdain and tried to pull, but he held on tight, his hand dripping blood, but his eyes were steady.
"Stop being an idiot, you should be running now!" She said angrily, "Aren't you afraid of what I might do to you?"
"I am, but I would never let my wife die!"
She looked at the sword he was still holding and laughed, then looked into his eyes.
"Would you sacrifice yourself to save her?"
Acácio nodded.
"Not a chance!"
She shook her head slowly and a deep cut began to open in Acacio's stomach, he tried to hold himself together until he spat blood onto the floor.
"Acacio..." I spoke in shock, the witch hadn't even touched him for another cut like Soraya's to appear on him.
Acacio fell to the floor and Soraya threw herself on top of him in tears, holding his face.
"My love, it's all right," said Acácio, "I just need to rest for a while."
Soraya shook her head and wiped a tear away from his face, I felt my heart heavy at the scene and my eyes filled with tears knowing that he was dying, I bent down feeling hypotensive and the tears began to run down my face violently as I saw Acácio close his eyes, even in his last breath he was still trying to reassure Soraya, he touched her face and said one last time that he loved her.
Soraya lay on his chest, just like him, she also looked weak and then I saw her pool of blood that was mixed with his.
"Soraya!" I shouted and stood up nervously, the witch turned to me as if remembering my presence and came towards me, leaving me dragging the sword on the floor, she raised her posture and shook her head, everything in her expression and the way she acted had something sadistic and sick about it, as if all her pleasure was in seeing people's pain.
"I was just about to forget about you, miss," she said, making my heart race, my whole body seemed to give in to fear and dread as I trembled, I broke out in a cold sweat and felt my stomach churn, knowing that this was the end of me too.
