Chapter 27

Bella walked out of the doctor’s office within her head jumbled and her thoughts in complete disarray. She replayed the words that he had held to her over and over in her head as she struggled to make sense of it. She couldn’t understand how any of it was possible she didn’t have a mate and yet now she was being told that she had some ancient matter that was calling out to her.

She didn’t know how that was even possible. She found herself being even more frustrated and confused than she was before.

She let out a sigh as she made her way into the forest and she tried to clear her head. She had been coming here for years and it allowed for her to have a semblance of peace but now all she felt was irritation.

Her whole life had been a mystery and that everyone seemed to want to unravel and yet she was at the center of yet another mystery.

She had been walking around aimlessly for a while when she suddenly felt the pain erupt on her back once more. She struggled to stay calm as it felt as though her back was on fire. She came to a stop she pleaded but she wasn’t even sure who it was exactly that she was calling out to.

She felt as black dots covered her vision but she froze when the pain stopped and she watched as a bright beam of light cane to stop in front of her. She tried to scramble away. “don’t be afraid of my child. she heard the voice echo around her and she felt her heart race as she shook her head frantically.

‘”Who are you?” She asked her in shock. “I am Selene the mother of wolves and you are my most special of creations.” She spoke and Bella felt her jaw tighten. “That's why you are giving me this punishment.” she asked her and she heard a light chuckle. ”that mark is from your mate. it will help to locate him and even when he denies it he will be forced to accept you. It isn’t supposed to be painful, it is you that is resisting it.” she spoke and she sighed in frustration.

“Why do you hate me? Why do you make everything so much harder and more complicated for me.” She cried out in frustration. ”I don’t hate you. you are destined for a greater purpose and soon enough I assure you that you are going to see that.” she spoke and she watched as the beam of light disappeared. then shot through her back once more as black dots danced in her vision before she passed out.

Sher was woken up several hours later by the feeling of someone carrying her in his arms. She could tell it was a male from the build and she panicked as she was quick to pry her eyes open. She was able to relax when she let out a sigh and she came to the realization that it was just her uncle jay. ”You can put me down now.” she said to him and she watched as he let out a light chuckle before he dropped her down to her feet.

“It is good to see you are awake.” he said to her and she saw that she was back at the edge of the forest. “What do you mean?” he asked him. “Well I did find you unconscious in the middle of nowhere. I think that is a little creepy and weird if you ask me.” she said to her and she rolled her eyes at him in response. “Well, I think the only thing that is creepy and weird is the fact that you were in the forest as well.

He made a move to respond but he decided against it as he shrugged his shoulders at her. “touché. so how about you tell me what is really going on with you.” he said to her and she only shrugged her shoulders at him. “Well you know… nothing much, just the same old same old usual stuff. Me trying and failing to control my powers and almost killing my dad.” she said to him as she tried to shrug it off.

He looked at her with a look of concern before he came over and wrapped his arms around her. She tried to remain strong but she couldn’t hold it in anymore as she found herself breaking down into tears at his words. She felt as he placed a hand on her back slightly as she felt her entire body being racked with sobs.

“hey you are going to be okay. I got you. your families got you.” he said to her and she sighed before she began to nod her head at him intently as he let a sigh out from her lips.

After a moment they pulled away from each other and he gave her a small smile. “Everything is so hard for me. Alpha hates me and it seems that I just keep making life harder for my parents.” she said to him in frustration. “Alpha doesn’t hate you I promise. He loves you. He just can’t bring himself to show it.” he explained to her and she looked at him in confusion before he said to her, “what do you mean,?”

“You are a very powerful being, Bella. But with great power comes great responsibility. He is afraid that you will be stronger than all of us.
