Chapter 23

“How many times do I have to tell you that I really don’t want a party? I don’t think that all of this is necessary.” Bella said to her in frustration. They had been going back and forth about the party the past hour and Lizz hadn’t stopped going on and on about how it was the right thing for them to do and that it would in fact bring her into society.

“Hey you are turning eighteen and I have a feeling that something big is going to happen. Your grandfather provided that he is a terrible human being is the alpha and your uncle the future alpha. You are practically royalty and eighteen is the right of passage. how can you not celebrate it would be a crime.`` She said to her with a slight gasp but she only rolled her eyes at her in response.

“Actually that would be sixteen because that is when you meet your mate and when you become an adult.” she said to lizz and lizz looked at her with a small sad smile on her face, but she didn’t bother to respond as she turned away from her.

lizz was one of the lucky wolves, she had met her mate on the same day that she had turned sixteen. his name as Alex and he was very sweet. He treated her sweetly and Bella slightly approved of their relationship.

“Well who needs mates anyway. You know that I would gladly leave any boy for you. “she said to her with a grin and Bella rolled her eyes at her as she huffed. “Well about the party I will reluctantly agree to your terms because I know that you won’t listen to me if I were to tell you otherwise anyway. So I won’t want anything big. I just want you and my parents. And maybe Alex.” she said and she watched as Bella grinned at her but reluctantly agreed.

“Okay I will do that. It can be lavish but not too lavish and it won’t be anything that I know that you won’t entirely approve of.” She said to Bella and although Bella didn’t entirely trust her she knew that she didn’t have a choice.

“Great, now come on. Let's go see what the parents are up to.” she said and Bella huffed at her as she said. “You just want to eat some of mum’s cooking.” Lizz Shrugged her shoulders in response.

“Okay wait that painting is actually cool.” she said as she turned to her attention towards the painting that Bella had painted today. “And damn that man is fine. where did you think of this one from?” She asked and Bella shrugged her shoulders. “Well, I think you should draw more of these and less of those scary faces. At least I would love to come to your room then.” She said to her with a snicker but she only ignored her words.

“Well no one wanted you to come in anyway so that is good for everyone.” she said to her playfully as she stuck her tongue out at her. She huffed letting out a gasp as she shoved her back lightly. “Well it isn’t like it isn’t the truth. You know you are weird. That is why I love you because you never grow tired of my own weirdness.” she said to her with a shrug of her shoulders.

“Well just because you said that I am going to do this.” without warning Bella grabbed a hold of her hand and although her shook her head at her and tried to pull herself out of her hold it didn’t work. Bella’s eyes flashed gold as she vaporized them out of the room.

They reappeared moments later in the living room and Liz Screamed. “You know I hate it when you do that without warning.” Bella snickered as she turned to the frightened expression of her mother who was sitting in front of them. “Bella, you are going to give me a heart attack one of these days. what have you told you and your father about-“ She didn’t get to see as she watched her father materialize beside her. He was holding a bowl of popcorn in his hand and she sent her mother a wink.

“The two of you are going to kill me one of these days.” she said in a mutter under her breath. He hummed at her slightly before he leaned into her and pressed a kiss on her lips. “But you love us. It wasn’t our fault that you fell in love with a witch and had a witch baby.” he said to her with a shrug and Bella snickered before grabbing Lizz hand and leading her to the opposite couch. “Yeah mum you are just jealous because we are awesome.” She said.

“So what movie are we watching?” she heard lizz ask from beside her. She let it a sigh from her lips as she said, “we are watching the conjuring but before that tell us what alpha wanted from you.” She asked and Bella tensed as she could see the sadness in her mother’s eyes as she called her own father alpha.

“Well it was nothing serious really. He just wanted to know some information about if I was going to have a party.” she muttered as she tried to change the topic but her parents narrowed their eyes at her clearly not believing a word from her mouth.

“You know you can always tell me if there is something. So if he is giving you trouble just let me know and I will put him to sleep for a few days with my fist.” She said and she nodded her head because for her that was the problem.

“And we are going to have some training after the movie so get ready. For me to whip your ass.” Her dad said and her mum tapped his shoulder lightly as she sent him a deep glare. “language!” She hissed at him and he gave her a cheeky smile in response. “I will be ready dad.”

She watched as Lizz looked at her question ony she didn’t want to tell her parents that. She knew they would be furious.se loved them nut she knew that the reason of their strain their relationships with the pack had to do with her and she didn’t want to take it even worse than it all ready was. She overheard them everything and she wasn’t going to make it harder for them.
