Chapter 14

Azrial sat on the floor feeling entirely defeated. He didn’t know how long he had lay there motionless as his body remained slumped on the ground. He tried to think clearly but he felt no will power for him to think properly about the situation that he found himself in. He allowed a sigh to break free from his lips.

He didn’t know exactly how long he had been sitting on the ground like that but she didn’t feel the urge to get back iup.as far as he was concerned he didn’t deserve to stand up. he had ruined the lives of everyone and as he looked at the ruined grounds that used to be his pack he felt nothing but shame cone over him the smell of burning flesh was still high in the air as he looked around the space.

He knew that it was up to him to undo the evil that he had created but he had no ideas where to start looking for them now. He didn’t want to consider the possibility that it was too late. It would mean that he was actually too late and that was the last thing that he wanted to think about. He stumbled to his feet as he felt his vision became blurry.

He made his way towards the forest as he tried to connect with them and he was relieved to know that he still had a connection towards them. He couldn’t think of having to kill his pack members with his own hands but he guessed that this was his own punishment for what he had done.

He could tell that dome of them hadn’t gone too far. He followed the scent through the forest and he came to a stop in front of the figure of a large wolf that lay on the floor. Itlet out a loud growl as it continued to bury its teeth into what looked like a dismembered arm.

Azrial didn’t want to think about what had happened to the rest of the beings. He took notice of the fact that there were several arrows that were still pocking out of the flesh of the creature.

Without their human side they didn’t have the instincts to focus on two things at the same time and he was able to easily step up to him as he placed his hand on its back and reached into its chest. Without another thought he reached deep inside and was able to easily pull out its heart.

It turned towards him with a ferocious growl as its mouth foamed before its eyes rolled to the back if its head and it fell to the ground with a thud.

He made his way through the forest once more as he continued to look for other wolves and over the next few days he had managed to stumble upon ten. He was grateful that they hadn’t been found in any of the neighboring packs but he knew that he couldn’t put it past them. He had decided to sleep in caves since he had no pack or people now. He would make it his mission to round up the rest of his monsters. There were fifty of them in total and he didn’t know how many more they would kill before he finally got to all of them and was able to defeat then all.

He woke up groggily on the floor of the cave as he saw that it was still dark out. He had decided to camp himself outside the River pack in case anymore wolves came. He knew that it was bound to happen because he could still dense them around him. It seemed as though with each day they had begun to form more of a consciousness for themselves. He had almost laughed at the thought.

He stared into the small pack. It was barely standing and had less that ten strong fighters. It was mainly composed of children due to the aftermaths of war and what made it so different from the rest was the fact that it was positioned so close to siren territory.

They had made a barrier around them because the sirens had managed to lure in the people using their songs and would often eat them. It served as a protection but it also meant that the people were also at the risk of being put in danger.

He had seen that there were no attacks yet and so he had reluctantly allowed his guard down. He was going to regret it more than anything and although he didn’t consider it now it was going to be one of the biggest mistakes that he was going to make.

He was woken up by the sounds of loud screams as well as the smell of blood that was thick in the air. He shot up straight on the floor as he stood up to his feet. He glanced around in the darkness as he watched several wolves heading towards the pack.

He felt his heart race as he moved out of the cave quickly. he didn’t know what he would do if they were to do anything that would end up harming the people. He felt his heart beat pick up in his chest as he raced after them.

There had to be over thirty of them and he wondered how they had been able to band together. he was able to make his way through some of the creatures but he knew that there was no way for him to get through all of them on his own.

They turned towards him when they noticed his presence and it was as though they recognized him on some level. They turned their attacks on him and he was relieved that the pack would at least be safe. He tried to deter them but they were quick and ruthless as they didn’t hesitate to plunge their claws unto his chest.

He cried out at the feeling as another bit down on his left leg. He tried to shift but their hold had weakened him. He felt as his vision began to blur and watched as they began to retreat from him as they headed towards the water.

Their next target was the sirens. He lay helpless as he felt another one bite down into his thigh as he cried out. He watched as black dots began to cover his vision as another bit down on his throat. And when death looked him in the eye he smiled because he knew it was what he deserved. He waited for the final bite that would end his life but it never came as the pressure was taken off him.
