Chapter 90 Harnishing her speed

Chapter 90 Harnishing her speed
Aloria
The sun has barely risen, casting a soft light over the training ground as I tie my hair back, the cool morning air invigorating my senses. The events of last night still linger in my mind… the laughter, the connections, and the warmth that filled the clearing. But today, I’m reminded that our peace is fleeting. We have to be ready for what lies ahead.

“Aloria!” Kellan’s voice booms across the training area, pulling me from my thoughts. He stands at the center, tall and confident, his chiseled features set with determination. “Are you ready to see just how fast you can move today?”

“Always, Kellan,” I reply, a thrill coursing through me. I’ve waited for this moment… training with Kellan to harness the new speed gifted to me by the vampire essence. It feels like a superpower, and I’m eager to learn how to wield it effectively.

“Good,” he says, cracking his knuckles with a grin. “Today, we’ll focus on agility, speed, and evasion. It’s not just about how fast you can run, but how well you can dodge and weave in a fight. You need to be like water… fluid and unpredictable.”

I nod, feeling an electric charge in the air as my heart races. “Let’s do this.”

Kellan leads me through a series of warm-up exercises, stretching my muscles and awakening my senses. I feel the energy of the earth beneath me, the pulse of life. As I focus, I tap into that vampire essence, feeling it surge through my veins. It’s exhilarating, like drinking a shot of adrenaline.

“Alright, first exercise,” Kellan instructs, his voice steady. “I want you to sprint from one end of the field to the other. But don’t just run. I want you to think of every blade of grass, every rock, every obstacle you might encounter. You need to anticipate and react, just like you would in a real fight.”

“Got it!” I take a deep breath, visualizing the path ahead. With a burst of energy, I launch forward. The ground blurs beneath my feet as I sprint, the wind whipping through my hair. I feel powerful, almost invincible, as I dodge an imaginary attacker, weaving to the side and then back again.

“Faster!” Kellan calls out, and I push myself harder, my legs pumping, my heart thrumming in my chest. I reach the far side of the field and skid to a stop, panting, exhilaration coursing through me.

“Not bad!” Kellan grins, and I can’t help but beam back at him. “But you can do better. Remember, it’s not just speed; it’s precision. Let’s try that again, but this time, I want you to visualize an enemy.”

I nod, focusing my mind. I can picture an opponent now, a rogue wolf with sharp teeth and fierce eyes. I imagine the growl, the threat, and it stirs something primal within me. With a determined breath, I take off again, sprinting faster than before, weaving with purpose. I dodge left, then right, imagining the rogue lunging for me, snapping its jaws.

“Excellent!” Kellan encourages. “Now, let’s add another layer. I want you to shift into your wolf form mid-sprint. It will help you understand the transition between human and wolf, and how to exploit your speed in both forms.”

“Okay!” Excitement bubbles in my chest. I can’t wait to feel the rush of transformation again. I take my place at the starting line, feeling the anticipation of the shift. “Here goes nothing.”

I sprint forward, feeling the earth beneath my feet. As I reach the midpoint, I let the magic take hold. My body transforms, muscles rippling and shifting as I embrace my wolf. It’s a sensation unlike any other… powerful, liberating. I feel lighter, faster.

As I shift, I surge forward, my wolf instincts guiding me. The grass blurs beneath my paws, and I weave effortlessly, dodging imaginary threats. I can hear Kellan’s voice, encouraging me to push harder, and I do, feeling the wind rush against my fur, the thrill of speed igniting my spirit.

“Perfect!” Kellan shouts, his voice filled with pride. “Now, let’s practice some evasive maneuvers. Imagine you’re in a real fight. You’ll need to anticipate your opponent’s moves.”

With a nod, I refocus, my senses sharpening. Kellan sets up a few training dummies, and I position myself, ready to dodge and evade. He moves toward me, mimicking an attack, and I feel the adrenaline spike.

“Move!” he barks, and I react instinctively, darting to the side, just narrowly avoiding a strike. I can feel the rush of my speed, the exhilaration of the chase, and I realize I’m not just running away; I’m dancing around him, my movements fluid and graceful.

“Good, good,” Kellan encourages, his eyes gleaming with excitement. “Remember, the key is to keep your opponent guessing. Don’t just evade… counterattack when you can. Let’s see what you’ve got.”

With a rush of adrenaline, I spring into action. As I dodge his next mock attack, I twist and pivot, using my newfound speed to launch a counterstrike. My paw connects with the dummy, sending it tumbling to the ground. It’s exhilarating to feel the power coursing through me, the ability to take charge of the fight.

“Now that’s what I’m talking about,” Kellan beams. “You’re starting to get it. The confidence will come with time… trust in your instincts. Let’s keep going.”

We spend hours training, my muscles burning but my spirit soaring. I feel like I’m finally embracing who I am, not just as a member of the pack but as a warrior. Each strike, each dodge, each moment of fluidity brings me closer to the fighter I need to become.

As the sun climbs higher in the sky, casting a warm light over the training ground, I feel a sense of accomplishment. I’ve pushed my limits, confronted my fears, and embraced the power that flows through me. I can’t help but smile at Kellan, who’s watching me with a proud expression.

“Aloria, you’re remarkable,” he says, walking over to me, his eyes shining with approval. “You have the heart of a warrior, and with that speed, you’ll be unstoppable. Just remember, it’s not only about how fast you can move but how well you can think on your feet. Trust yourself, and you’ll always find a way to win.”

“Thank you, Kellan,” I reply, feeling gratitude swell within me. “I couldn’t have done this without your guidance.”

“Just keep training, and you’ll be ready for anything,” he says with a firm nod. “Now, let’s clean up and get you some food. You’ve earned it.”

As we head back to the pack house, I can’t shake the feeling of exhilaration coursing through me. I’m ready for whatever challenges lie ahead, and I know that with my newfound abilities, I’ll stand strong alongside River.
