Chapter 65 Back home

Chapter 65 Back home
River
As we make our way through the dense thicket of trees, I can’t help but steal glances at Aloria, my heart, my mate. She walks with a grace that belies her fatigue, her shoulders squared and her chin high. The flickering light of the setting sun dances around her, casting golden highlights in her hair, and a swell of pride surges within me. She’s not just a warrior and a Luna; she’s a force of nature.

The remnants of our battle linger in the air, a reminder of how close we came to losing everything once again. I can still feel the adrenaline coursing through my veins, the thrill of watching Aloria unleash her newfound powers first to get her brothers away from danger and then against the werebears. It was a sight to behold, her muscles coiling and releasing like a spring, her instincts sharp and decisive. I knew she had strength within her, but today, she transcended even my expectations. And her new speed is unmatched by any wolf I have ever encountered.

“Can you believe she took down that bear?” Arly’s voice cuts through my thoughts, his excitement palpable. I glance back at the boys, their faces flushed with exhilaration. Aloria had become their idol, and honestly, I can’t blame them. “Not to mention how fast she is.”

“SYeah, she’s incredible, isn’t she?” I reply, my voice low, as I step closer to Aloria. “And she’s only going to get stronger.”

“Do you really think so?” Arthenon asks, his eyes wide with admiration.

“Absolutely,” I say, my gaze steady on Aloria. “She’s just beginning to understand the full extent of her abilities and she have only recently gained her wolf. When we reclaim the Kingdom from your uncle, her powers will be essential.”

Just the thought of what lies ahead sends a thrill through me, though a shadow of worry lurks in my mind. Her uncle has been a tyrant not only to Aloria but to the Kingdom, and the path to reclaiming it for her father will be fraught with danger. But if Aloria continues to embrace her strength, I know we will have a fighting chance.

The forest opens up as we reach the edge of our territory, the familiar scent of pine and earth mingling with the warmth of home. I can feel the energy shift as we approach the pack’s territory. A sense of relief washes over me; we made it back in one piece.

As we cross into the clearing, the sound of jubilant howls fills the air. The pack has gathered, their faces lighting up as they see us return. “Alpha! Luna!” they call, their voices a chorus of welcome that echoes through the trees. “beta Kellan.”

I glance at Aloria, her eyes sparkling with surprise and delight. “I didn’t expect such a warm welcome,” she says, her voice soft but laced with amusement.

“Of course… You are our Luna now,” I remind her, a smile tugging at my lips. “You’ve earned their respect and admiration. They’ve seen you fight to find me when I was lost.”

As we stride into the clearing, I can feel the warmth radiating from our pack, a surge of camaraderie that envelops us. They gather around, their expressions a mixture of awe and gratitude. I step forward, raising my hand to quiet them. “Let’s not forget the danger we faced,” I say, my voice steady. “But let us also celebrate our victory. Aloria stepped up and saved lives today.”

The pack erupts into cheers, their voices rising like a tide. I watch as they surround Aloria, pulling her into their embrace. She laughs, her joy infectious, and I can’t help but feel a swell of pride as I watch her fit seamlessly into our world.

“Let’s prepare a feast,” I call out, my heart racing with excitement. “We’ll honor those who fought with us, and we’ll welcome Aloria’s family with open arms. They deserve a home within our pack…. We have a lot of news to share with you.”

“Food!” Arly cheers, his voice ringing out above the clamor.

I chuckle as the pack disperses to gather supplies. “You’re going to have to help with that, you know,” I tell Arly, ruffling his hair as we make our way to the communal area.

Aloria’s family has been through a lot, and it is my responsibility to ensure they felt safe and welcomed. “We’ll make sure they have a place here,” I say, glancing back at Aloria. “A house, a home… it’s what they deserve after all they’ve endured… Until we can get your castle back.”

“Thank you, River,” she replies, her voice sincere. “I know it’s a lot to ask, but it means everything to me.”

I nod, determination setting in my bones. “They’re family. And if they’re anything like you, they’ll fit right in.”

As the sun dips below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the clearing, I feel a sense of hope blooming within me. The flames of the bonfire flicker to life, illuminating our faces as the pack gathers around, laughter and excitement echoing into the night.

Together, we’ll forge a future. Together, we’ll reclaim what was lost. And with Aloria by my side, I know we can face anything that comes our way.

With each passing moment, I fall deeper in love with her strength, her resilience, and her unwavering spirit. She is my mate, my Luna, and together, we are unstoppable.

As we prepare to feast, I can’t help but feel that this is only the beginning. The journey ahead will be challenging, but with Aloria’s powers awakening, I know we will rise to meet it. And as the laughter of our pack fills the air, I realize that we are not just fighting for survival; we are fighting for a brighter future.. a future where love, loyalty, and strength reign supreme in the entire country.
