Jess’s POV
“Most humans like to hide away in their shells they do not want to admit to what is around them. Most people believe in God even though they have never seen him. But as soon as you mention vampires or aliens, they laugh at you. I have been working with the supernatural as long as I can remember and most normal humans I encounter think that I am a salesman. My own mother thinks that I sell vacuum cleaners for a living” John told Nicole
“If you don’t mind me asking, how did you get into this line of work?”
“It’s a long story” he sighed
“That’s fine I have time” she smirked
“Ok then I was in the 7th form at high school. I was coming back from a party at my mate’s place. His parents had gone away for the weekend, and he thought why not throw a huge party. On my way home I got approached by a very attractive woman. She was tall and slim, and she was wearing a very tight, very short little black dress. I was drunk and not thinking straight. She told me that she had seen me at the party and wanted to carry on partying with me. She asked me if I would like to go back to her place. I am male after all, so I agreed. She took my hand and led the way, the way she moved was hypnotic. Her house was huge, it sat among houses that were in the same calibre. I was excited to be invited in to such a nice house. My family were very middle class, and I had to work part time to pay for clothes and to keep my car running. I went to school with people whose parents had bought them cars for the 16th birthday. Me I think I got $100 to go and buy myself something. Anyway, we walked into the lobby, and I could not believe my eyes. She led me into the lounge, and the place was full of gorgeous woman. There were about 20 of them and they all turned to look at me as soon as I walked in. The chick led me into the lounge and told me to sit on the couch. She came and sat down next to me. She was all over me, I loved it. We were started to get heated when another two of the women came and started to join in. I could not believe my luck, I had three women all over me. Suddenly the front door was kicked in, and a group of five men came running in. The women where off me so quickly that I did not even see them move. That was when I saw the teeth, they had grown fangs. The men who came in did not seem fazed by the fangs at all. That’s when one fired a weapon that I had never seen before. It shot out wooden stakes. One of them shot the woman that had brought me here in the chest. As soon as the stake hit her, she started to decompose. I stood frozen. I could not believe what I was seeing. The men took out all the woman in the room. My brain was trying to tell me what I was seeing but I could not make myself believe it. One of the men came over to me and sat next to me on the couch. He explained that the women were vampires and that the leader had led me here so that all of them could play with me and then drain me dry. He must have been impressed about how well I took it as they ended up taking me back to their headquarters. The next thing I knew I had a new job and I have been working for the department since then. I don’t think that I would be able to cope with a normal 9 – 5 job, I think that I would get very bored”
“Wow that must have been quite an experience. So, in one sense you were once in the same kind of situation as the people outside”
“In a way yes”
“But yet you had vampires in your team?”
“Yes, we did. Not all vampires are like the first ones I met. Most of them are respectable and great people. Just ask Jess one of her best friend’s s a vampire”
“Really Jess?” She looked at me in shock.
“Yeah, Hayley she is great”
“Did you know her before she was turned or did you meet her after?”
I looked at John for help. I was not sure how much information he wanted to give her. He took over for me.
“Hayley was not made Nicole she was born a vampire”
Hayley shifted in her seat looking uncomfortable. “We have been around, just as long as humans have. Maybe even longer. We used to live in peace back when the dinosaurs where around. But then you humans grew greedy and scared. You decided that we were evil. They made weapons and came after us. We could have killed off your race then, but we decided to go. We went in to hiding for a few hundred years. By the time we started to mingle with society again we were just fictional characters that people used to scare each other. There was still the odd person who believed and hunted for us but the majority just took to the fact that we were not real”
“But vampires can be made?”
“Yes, if we bite a human and then they drink some of our blood then they will turn”
“Wow so will you age and die or are you immortal?”
“I can stop aging whenever I want to. I was thinking when hit 29. I will still look old enough to do everything fun. But I will not look old” Hayley smiled at Nicole and Nicole started to laugh.
“When you have come up with a plan, can you let me know? I do not mind having people here if you want to keep all the humans in one place”
“Thank you but I think that next time when we discover that they are coming we will put everyone in an underground hide out that we have. It has food water and it’s warm and there is plenty of room for everyone to sleep”
