Jess’s POV
Romeo gave a growl to let John know that he was more than capable of looking after me.
“Ok I am going to address the humans to tell them what they are to do. Jess, I have ten spare firearms. You’re a good judge or character. I want you to walk around the group who can use guns but don’t have any and give the guns to the ten people who you think will be best with them”
“Ok boss. Where are the guns? Or do you just want me to tell ten of them to say go to Kieran?”
“You might be best telling them to go and stand by Kieran and then they can find out that they are getting guns. Otherwise, some of the others might get jealous and cause a riot”
“No worries boss” I walked away from him and towards the group of men who knew how to shoot. Most of the men only glanced at me and then went back to the conversation that they were having. A few said hi to me but not many. I found the ten best candidates in less the two minutes and sent them to Kieran. When they reached Kieran, he pulled a backpack over and started to pull guns out.
“That is breaking a lot of polices agent Storm” I tried to keep a straight face and look stern but the look of shock on Kieran’s face made that impossible and I burst in to hysterics. “Am sorry I could not help myself” I managed to stammer out “My god the look on your face. Anyone would think that I was about to give you a written warning. Last time that I checked I was lower in the ranks then you. I don’t think that I have the authority to give you a warning Agent. You can stand down. Though I might report you to Agent Grahams aka John”
“Your report has been turned down Agent Jones. Also, for your information you and agent Storm are in the same rank. That makes you equal partners” John chuckled
“Does that mean we get equal pay too?”
“We will discuss that when we get back to the office”
I smiled at him over my shoulder as I walked back to my family. Mum was looking at her gun like it might turn around and bite her.
“It’s ok mum”
“Easy for you to say you do this for a living. What happens if I miss?”
“Mum, you need to calm down, or you will miss. I know it’s hard, but you need to relax. Kieran and I will be the main shooters. You are our back up. Kieran and I will do most of the hard shooting. You just have to shoot the aliens that are about to come close to where the fighting is happening”
“Ok I will take deep breaths”
“You will be fine mum”
I saw Kieran and John talking and they both seemed very focused.
“Let’s go see what the boys are talking about” I chuckled as we walked over.
They were trying to plan us moving our camp to close to the spaceship. Mum offered to start cooking before I had finished processing and her and Christina ran off. I looked around and it would be way too bloody hard for my poor mum and Christina to cook for all these people. I also didn’t think that we had enough food to feed everyone. I brought enough food to feed my family for a while, but this was way too many people. I expressed my thoughts to the guys and suggested maybe we could raid shops on the way, but William had a better idea. The aliens had a full set up with food and their camp was an easy walk away. We packed up our camp and then made our way back to the alien camp. Once we were all fed, and we had filled up packs for almost everyone with supplies we found we set off towards the spaceship.
The trip was painfully slow and by the time we arrived at a clearing we had found I was more than happy to curl up next to Kieran and go to sleep. I woke up with him kissing my nose and it made my heart flutter. I was so madly in love with this man, and I could not wait to get this war over with so I could catch up on missed time. But for now, we had a war to fight and men to feed. I climbed out of the sleeping bag and smelt food cooking. I glanced over and saw that mum and dad had already set up a kitchen area and were busy cooking. Once everyone had finished eating, we all spread out to get ready for the battle. I saw Christina. Amber and Hayley sat in a circle with something in the middle of them. I walked over to join them. As I got closer, I was that they had a bowl full of water in front of them. Amber was looking into the water, and Christina was speaking in a language that sounded like Latin, but I knew that it wasn’t. I did not say a word as I sat down to join them. Christina lifted one eye lid to look at me without breaking from what she was saying. Hayley reached over and took my hand. I am not sure if she was trying to comfort me or herself. All of a sudden Amber gasped and we all leaned over the bowl. We could see inside the ship that had landed. We could see all the aliens walking around inside. Amber waved her hands and the scene changed to shows us what was going on outside the ship. We could see that they only had two aliens standing guard and that was only by the main doors into the spaceship. By the looks of things, they were sat waiting. My guess was that they were waiting for the other aliens to deliver the women. Oops that will not be happening. I thought to myself and smiled.
