Chapter 54 Chapter 54
Kieran’s POV
I was right and Delica was talking to Jess, and when Jess mentioned that Delica was upset that Jess was not caught because she wanted to breed her all I could think about was how much I would like to get her pregnant. She would look amazing carrying my baby and let’s be honest we are both in our mid-twenties now, it would be a good time to think about having a baby. I would have to put it forward to her once the war is over and we are married.
Jess was still talking to Delica when the vamps arrived and wiped out all the aliens in the base. Jess looked at me with excitement in her eyes thinking we had won. I hated to break it to her, but I had to let her know about the ship that had just reached us.
“Another ship had just landed. I think that this one is here to take away the women” I told her
“So? We kill them too”
“No this is a battleship Jess this one has come to take the woman and by the looks of it destroy earth” The ship was huge and from what we could see was fully set up with enough fire power to wipe us out.
Jess looked back at the vamps who looked to be enjoying feeding on the Aliens. I was shocked when Jess lifted her gun and fired. I was about to ask her what the hell she was doing, when suddenly all the vampires were standing in front of us. It turns out she fired near Hayley to get her attention and now she wanted me to fill the vamps in on the ship. I had not wanted to do that until we were all back at camp, but I guess Jess cared about them and wanted them in the loop. While I filled them in on the ship, we saw Jess packed up her gun. Romeo kept whimpering at her, and she kept patting his head. I guess he could tell that the war was far from over. We all walked back to camp with the vampires walking with us even though they could run if they wanted to. I was wondering if they would walk all the way to camp with us even though the humans were there. Then again if they walked slow and didn’t try to drink anyone’s blood you would not know that they are not human. The myth about them burning in sunlight is a crock of shit. They just prefer the night as its easier for them to find food.
We arrived back at the camp, and everyone was already sat in a large group waiting for us. Jess walked over and sat next to John, and I took the last spot next to her. I noticed the vampires all spread out around the outside of the group. It made me feel safe as it felt like they were creating a shield around us. John stood up and went to address the group. He must have updated everyone on the ship as they all knew about it, now he just needed us to decide if we wanted to fight. Honestly if I was him, I would not have given people the option. This war will affect us all and so I feel that we should all fight, but I guess that is why John is the boss, and I am just an agent.
Jess stood up and walked over to the other side of the fire. It was decided that was the side for those who wanted to stay and fight. John mentioned that the ship had landed in a town twenty-four to forty-eight hours away. It must have landed while I was up the hill with Jess.
I stood up and went to join Jess on the other side of the fire. No way was I letting her go to war without me. Romeo got up and walked over with me. I had not even noticed that he had stayed with me and not gone with Jess. Justin was the next one to join our side of the fire, I was starting to get more and more respect for him. I was looking forward to fighting with him. Alice and Bob were next refusing to let their kids fight without them. Then the vamps were with us as I knew they would be. I saw the way they fed of the aliens, and I could guarantee that they wanted more. Amber and Christina were next followed by a few humans, but not many. I glared at the ones left in the other side of the fire, this was a fight for our race, and they were too chicken to bother fighting for it. John and Jess did not seem to mind and told them to stick together and that we would come and find them once this was over. Some woman stepped forward to let us know that they can all stay in her fancy hotel. I had to bite my tongue as I wanted to tell her what I thought about them all hiding away while we fought a battle for our kind. We watched them walk away before John turned to the group of people who were left and started to split them into groups. The first group was people who have weapons and know how to use them, the second was for people who could use a weapon but didn’t have one and the last was for people who didn’t know how to shoot. I was not impressed when the people who don’t know how to shoot were sent to me. John mentioned that we didn’t have enough guns for everyone, so he was going to use Jess as a sniper again. I agreed with him as she was our best shooter, then some prick had to make a comment about her. I was about to go and knock his teeth out when Hayley suddenly appeared next to me and started to push me away from him and towards Jess. I tried to fight her, but who was I kidding. I am human and she is a vampire.
