Jess’s POV
I smiled at him “She means no harm. It’s just hard to call you John when after all this time you have been either boss, Sir or agent Grahams”
“I know but....” Hayley returned before he got chance to finish his argument.
“Ok I think that the mission will go down without a hitch sir”
“I am glad to hear that. Come on team lets go back to camp have something to eat and plan how this mission is going to work” He got up and lead the way back to camp. Kieran went and walked and muttered next to him. As soon as Romeo saw me, he came running up to me.
“Hey, my boy did you miss me” I gave him a kiss on the top of him head and then he walked beside me.
“Did you see them?” Mum asked while running towards us.
“Yes, mum we did. Now we are going to sit down and plan the attack”
“Ok. I will go and dish up the stew then while all of you get ready” She ran off again towards the camps kitchen.
John went to his pack and grabbed a pad and a pencil and started to draw. “Ok this is the outline of the camp” He had just drawn the shape of the camp on the paper. “This is where they were keeping the males” He drew a box on the camp diagram. “The females will be harder to get to as they are kept right here” He drew another box right in the centre of the camp. “Now the guards seemed pretty sloppy as they are feeling too sure of themselves that they got everyone. They are not expecting an attack, so we have a huge advantage”
“That is great to know” Amber grinned
“Grandpapa” Hayley called as she ran into the arms of a wise looking 40 something year old.
“Grandpapa? He looks old enough to be your dad” Justin had to point out
“Yes. We can stop aging whenever we want” Hayley told him
“Wow that is so cool. Can all vamps do that?”
“No, only the born ones. Made vampires stay at the age they were when they got changed” Hayley filled him in.
“Cool so you could change me, and I would stay looking like this forever?”
“Yes, but there is no way that I am going to change my best friend’s big brother. That would make things very awkward for Jess and me”
“Yeah, I guess that you’re right” he mumbled as he started to focus on the map in front of John
“You think? Wow Jess your brother can be pretty dense sometimes” Amber chuckled
“Tell me about it. But still, we all love him” I chuckled
Justin gave me a dirty look and turned to John “Ok so do we need to go over things again for Hayley’s family?”
“No, they tuned in through me, so they heard everything” Hayley told him with a smirk.
“Really can they do that all of the time?”
“No, only when I open myself up and let them”
“That is so cool”
“Yeah, yeah really cool so are we ready to go and free the humans?” the grandpa asked getting impatient.
“Yes grandpapa. Stop been so impatient. We are just going to eat some stew and then we are going. Is that ok?” Hayley asked him.
Hayley’s grandpapa winked at me “I suppose that I should introduce my clan here. Well firstly I am William. I am the oldest member of the clan so there for their leader. Thought you might not think so with the way that my dear granddaughter here talks to me. To my right are Hayley’s parents Jack and Jill please no puns about the nursery rhyme. To my left are my other children Alex, Dwain, Rose and Jacob. The rest behind me are distant relatives and made vampires that my family have turned. I trust every one of them to get the humans out safely”
“I am glad to hear that, William. Now let’s eat” John went to help my mother to hand out the stew. She used all the bowls and plates, and we still did not have enough. Lucky for us a lot of the vampires went out hunting animal blood. After everyone had eaten or drank we got together and spilt into our designated groups. We all walked to the other side of the mountain together. Mum, Dad and Christina stayed behind in the camp. Romeo walked at my heels. When we got to the opening before the end of the cliff John stopped us “Ok Justin, I want you to stay close to Kieran and me so that if you get in trouble we can come to your aide. But your main job will be to free the men and get them back to camp. Do not try to be a hero and do something stupid. We need to free the men and get them back to camp. When you have done that, I want you to help your parents and Christina to make sure that they are all ok. Then wait for us to get back with the women.”
“I can do that. Don’t worry I can follow orders you know”
“Ok, I am trusting you. Now Jess are you going to be ok up here on your own?”
“I won’t be on my own I have Romeo here to keep me company. Also, I would rather be up here as I can see what’s going on and protect you all a hell of a lot better. I just want you all to remember where I am so that you can try and keep my shot clear. Not that I need a clear shot of course I am the best shot around”
“Nothing like tooting your own trumpet ay my love” Kieran chuckled
Don’t be smart or you will be going home with a bullet in your left arse cheek” I smiled my sweetest smile at him
“Don’t try using your cute girl charm on me lady you just threatened to shoot me in the arse”
“Just think it would make a great story after this is all done and we are famous. So, agent Strom how did you get shot in the left butt cheek? Well Mel you see I got smart to my sniper girlfriend, so she shot me”
