Kieran’s POV
I pulled up outside the school and waited for Jess to come out. As soon as the gates opened, I saw her come running out and I quickly climbed out and opened the passenger door for her. She grinned at me as I opened my arms, and she came running straight into them and told me how much she missed me. God I was glad she missed me as I could not stop thinking about her all day. I had to warn her that once we got to the warehouse, I would be her mentor and not her boyfriend. After the talk I had with Grahams this morning, I did not want to risk anything. So, while we are at work I would be professional, but once we were done, I would show her just how much I need her. To make sure she knows how much I liked her before she had to deal with whatever Bridget says I leaned her over the bonnet of the car and kissed her with all the pent up need I had for her. I was tempted to run my hands up her skirt, but my possessive side would not allow me to show anyone else what was mine. I held her hand the whole way to the warehouse and only let go when I parked up. She must have known that now we were in business mode as she opened her door without waiting for me.
Grahams was waiting at the door for us when we arrived and I noticed Jess stand up straighter as she spoke to him. He gave the speel about me showing her around and then dismissed us. I was both excited and nervous about her meeting the Alien, but I knew that it had to be done. I told her that we were going to be starting at the end of the hall and then making our way back.
“Ok but isn’t the alien down this way?” she asked looking worried.
“Yes, I have been given orders that you need to see it first so that we can see if you can find out what it wants” I did not want to tell her that I had been the one to suggest it to Grahams. But we needed to find out why the Alien was here, and I honestly thought that Jess would be able to find that out for us.
“Okay are you ready for this?” I asked once we reached the door that housed the cell, we kept the Alien in.
“As ready as any sane person can be a guess” she mumbled.
I opened the door and stepped aside so that she could enter first. I wanted her to be able to look around and take in her surroundings. I waited until she sat down before I followed suit and sat down in the other chair. I guess Grahams must have gotten some men to put them here as this room is usually bare.
“Can it talk?” Jess asked me.
I was about to tell her we don’t know as it has never tried to communicate with us, but the Alien beat me and actually spoke to her.
“Yes, I can talk. I saw you once when they were trying to operate on me to find out about me. You were looking through the window”
“You saw me then?” Jess asked in shock, and I must admit I was shocked too. We had her heavily medicated, or we thought we had. Maybe the drugs we used didn’t work on it.
“Yes, I did my child. I liked you. You’re different from the rest of the humans here”
“Different how?” Jess asked as she leaned forward in her chair. I was also intrigued, I thought Jess might be able to get the Alien to talk. I was just not expecting it to happen this quickly.
“You showed compassion on your face”
“How could I not you had a group of people around you, you looked so scared”
“Well yes I was” the Alien confessed, and I saw the sadness on Jess’s face and that pissed me off. The Alien was playing on Jess’s emotions, and I was not going to allow that.
“Just wait a second here we have tried to talk to you many times and you have not said one word to us” I growled at her
“That is because agent Storm none of you talked to me like you wanted to talk. You just demanded things from me. I am sorry but being treated like that made me not want to cooperate with your team”
I glared at the Alien and was about to tell it what I thought about it not cooperating with us. It was our prisoner and if it didn’t cooperate then we would find ways to make it.
“Well done agent it looks like you have succeeded in scaring the poor girl” the Alien smirked.
I glanced over at Jess, and the Alien was right, she was looking at me in fear and it broke my heart. “Oh, Jess I am sorry I never meant to scare you. I will just sit here now and let you do all the talking” I patted her knee as I leaned back in my chair and crossed my arms across my chest. I needed to stop acting like Jess’s boyfriend and start acting like her boss. As her boss I needed her to find out as much as she can from the Alien.
“Okay what did you want to talk about Jess?” The alien asked as she smiled at Jess.
“Is it ok if I ask you some questions?” Jess asked.
I watched every move that both Jess and the Alien made as the spoke to each other. I would know if the Alien was lying. I got in the zone pushing my feelings for Jess aside so I could focus. When Jess asked the Alien what its name was as her the first question I almost laughed. Thankfully I managed to hold it together as she found out that the Alien was called Delica and that she was a female who was here to find out how we reproduce.
