Kieran’s POV

Jess seemed to cheer up after we ate and then we all headed back out to the obstacle course again. Hayley and Oscar went to the starting line while Jess and I went to the finish line again. I grabbed my clip board again so I could mark down the people who passed. I was not expecting much since we had just made them go for a long run and the late teams also had to do the sit ups and push ups. But I was wrong and this time almost everyone passed the course. Now they would just need to pass the running test in the morning and then we could move on.

Christina also passed the course and quickly ran into Nicks arms and walked over to John together. I was glad that’s she passed and I knew that Nick would be too. Now he would not have to worry about her, and he would be able to keep his eyes on her.

Jess stood up and told the people that if they had passed both the obstacle course and the fitness test that they could go join John. I stood back in shock when most of the people stood up and started to move. I know for a fact that most of them had not passed the fitness test this morning. Jess warned everyone that anyone caught cheating would be punished before she handed my list to Hayley and asked her to hand it to John and bring back anyone who tried to sneak over. Now this should be fun, I rubbed my hands together as I waited for the cheaters to return so I could give them their punishment.

I watched Jess start the fitness training with her team and smiled, she started with jumping jacks and watching her body move was mesmerising. Soon Hayley came back with a group of people who all looked guilty as hell.

“Naughty, naughty people” I chuckled as I looked among them “Now we need to punish you so that you don’t do it again” I looked around the group and saw that some of the people were from the teams that didn’t make it in time this morning. “Looks like some of you like getting punished” I growled “Now start doing burpees until I tell you to stop”

Everyone groaned but did as I asked. I glanced over at Jess and saw that the group all seemed to be following her, but some were starting to slow down. I turned back to my group and smirked “How many of you will cheat in the future?” I called out.

None of them answered as they kept on working.

“Good” I growled “Now run the perimeter five times” I yelled at them. I watched them all scramble up before they were all running. I walked over to stand near Jess and watch her team. I knew that my lot would be running for a while and when they got back, I would be making them do the same training at Jess was doing with her group.

My team were just finishing their run when Jess’s team had collapsed on the ground groaning. I overheard them saying that two hours of exercise was not a warmup. I chuckled as I turned to my team who looked like standing was a challenge.

“I hope you are all nice and warmed up and learnt your lesson as now it’s time to start the fitness training”

“No” They groaned causing me to laugh.

“You lied and tried to skip training” I pointed out “If you are too weak to cope with the training you can always leave” I taunted. “Now follow my lead” I yelled as I started off with the same routine that Jess did with her group. My team did not even make it an hour in, they saw Jess’s team heading into the muck hall and they all started to complain that we could not keep them from eating and that this punishment was inhumane.

“Are you fucking kidding?” I yelled “We are about to go to war with aliens who want to take our women and impregnate them, and you are here complaining because your tired?”

“If you want to eat you will keep going” John told them as he came to stand beside me “If you are too weak to keep going then leave”

I nodded at him in thanks as I kept going and they started to follow me again. John stood next to me and joined me.

“We will go and update Jess” Christina told us as she walked past us and into the muck room.

I made then go for another hour before I allowed them to enter the muck room and join the others. “Go eat” I told them as I walked away from them to find Jess standing off to the side looking as pissed off as I felt.

“I will go and get them organised inside” John told me before walking into the muck hall and leaving me to talk to Jess.

She had not noticed me, and she turned around like she was about to run off. “Jess, hun, wait” I called after her as I jogged to catch up.

It turns out that her team was just as bad as mine when it came to pushing themselves. She asked me to talk to John as we needed to come up with a way to make them all work harder. I agreed and also agreed to take over this afternoon’s training so she could go for a fun with Romeo. I was not too happy about her missing lunch, but I could understand her need for a break. The humans were hard to work with, and I was getting a new respect for John.

I let her too it and went back to the muck hall. John was just walking back to his seat and I saw that people were starting to go up and eat.
