Chapter 129 Chapter 129
Chapter 129 Chapter 129
Jess’s POV
When she had been listening to our stories she had sewn our names on the back of the hoodies with black ribbon.
“Thank you, Christina these are really cool. Ok guys we need to go and meet the other teams in the muck hall. I would like all of you to put on your t-shirt and hoodie. We are going to show the other teams that the outcast team is not a team to mess with”
I had never seen the muck hall so full. The agency does not usually have many members and the most I have ever seen training at one time was ten. I showed the team where to sit and then John, Kieran and I went to the front of the hall. John pushed me forward.
“I hope that you are all settled into your groups. I will need you all to pick a team leader. That person needs to stand up. I am going to get Kieran here to take down all your team names as we will be using them for when the teams compete. I am going to give you five minutes you choose your team leader” I walked back to our table with John and Kieran right behind me. “Ok guys who are we going to have as our leader? Don’t say me, as I am the leader of this whole training group. Also, I will be up front most of the time and not sat with you during meetings. So, who do you want to be your leader?”
“I think that we should choose Christina” Cherie blushed and took a breath “She made us these great tops, and she seems like she would be good at organising”
“Well, she pulled off a wedding in a couple of days, so I agree with you. All who agree raise your hand” Everyone in the group raised their hands, even Christina.
“Thank you, guys. I will be the best leader ever. I might even be as good as Jess. Just not as tough on ya”
“Thanks for that Christina. Just for that I am going to be really hard on you in our first training exercise”
“Sure, you will” She winked at me as I left the team to it and went back to the front of the room.
“Hey, John, where is William and his group?”
“They are going to join us in the fight, but they are training on their own. They do not want to train with humans. They think that it will slow them down”
“Yeah, that sounds like Will. I am glad that they are going to come and help us in the war though. They are good fighters”
“Yes, they are. With them and you we should be able to win this war with ease”
“Thank you, John. It’s nice to know that you think we can win”
“I don’t think I know Jess. Now come on they have had well over five minutes”
I turned away from him and back towards the group “Ok now I want the leader of each group to stand up please” I waited until every group had one member standing “Ok I am going to send Kieran around to take your leaders name and your teams name” I nodded at Kieran, and we headed off. “Now as team leader you are responsible for your team. You need to make sure that your team wins. If your team loses then you will be the one to take the blame. This is not a holiday. You will work hard, and you will compete to win” I looked at the faces of the people who had been made the leaders. Most of them looked scared shitless but a few also looked confidant and ready. It was better than expected. I had thought that all of them would be freaked out “Ok now that is out of the way we are going to have a light lunch and then get into the training. When we have eaten, I will explain what we will be doing. The food is along the right wall. The pink team will start we will work in a left to right rotation. The front row will work going to the left, then the second row go from the right. Understood?”
“Yes Sir” The whole room spoke simultaneously. I was so pleased I felt like I would explode. I watched as the pink team rose and went to get their food. As soon as they had left the table and joined a line, the blue team followed suit.
“We should go and sit with our team and wait for our turn to eat” I took Kieran’s hand and led him back to our table with John following. Had no idea how John had managed it but he had a full kitchen team. I waited until everyone had finished eating and then I made my way back to the front of the room alone this time. “Ok now that you have all had a feed I would like to tell you about our training. I know that most of you will want to shoot a gun or learn to fight, but before you learn that you all have to be extremely fit. We have an obstacle course set up here. I am going to send all of you through this now. Before you learn to fight or shoot you have to complete the course. Kieran, John and I will go through first as we know what we are doing. I want you to watch us very closely as mistakes will cost you time. Every morning you will do this course until you complete it. When you have completed it, you will then move on to more advanced training. Hayley can I please get you to time us to prove that we are not cheating”
“It would be my honour”
“Ok guys out we go” Everyone followed me out to the obstacle course.
“I will meet you guys at the finish” Hayley smiled and then vanished
“Ok I want everyone set up on either side of the course. Remember watch carefully as you will be doing this next. Ok Oscar, come here. You can be the on the marks get set go guy”
Oscar was laughing as he walked over to us. “Ok are ya ready”
We didn’t reply but instead got into our running stance”
“Ok on ya mark, gets set, go you mere mortals”
