Chapter 130: Chapter 130
Kieran’s POV
John stayed at the start line while Jess and I went to wait at the finish line. I grabbed my clip board and went to stand to one side while Jess stood with the stopwatch. Anyone who completed the course within the four minutes was sent over to me and I took down their name and team name. By the end of it I had more people than I thought I would. I did feel bad for Christina and Jess’s family though as none of them passed. I hoped that the team would not think badly of her as their leader and not passing. Once everyone was done and graded, we went back to the muck hall for dinner. Jess was talking to Christina, so I left her too it and walked ahead with Alice and Bob.
“Are you ok?” I asked them
“We are fine” Alice smiled “I knew that we would not pass the course the first time. We are old and not very fit”
“I am sure after some training you will do it” I told her just as Jess stormed passed us. I looked back at Christina who looked like she was about to cry.
“You two go ahead” Alice sighed “I will have a little talk with Christina”
I nodded as we carried on walking to the muck hall. I looked over and saw that Jess was walking straight to the front of the room. I debated going to stand by her, but she looked pissed off, so I decided to go and sit with our team instead. I just sat down when Christina and Alice came in and took their seats. Once everyone was seated Jess told everyone the plan for the rest of today and tomorrow. She them came to sit with us, but she still looked pissed, and it made me wonder what the hell had happened between her and Christina. For God’s sake, Christina was the one who worked her arse off to make sure that the wedding was perfect.
Christina apologised to Jess as soon as she sat down and then said she would like Jess to train her. I was going to assume the fight had something to do with her not passing the test.
“So, what will I be doing tomorrow?” I asked her “I already know how to shoot and I clearly don’t need the fitness training” I chuckled as I flexed my biceps.
“I am not fully sure” she confessed “I will have a think about it and most likely come up with a job tomorrow. If I don’t you can just hang out and help me”
“I am more than happy to be your assistant” I chuckled as we all stood up and went to get our food.
Once we finished eating Jess told me she was going to go and have a run. I was not in the mood to fun since we already did the obstacle course today. I knew that we would be training our arses off for the next few days, so I decided to go and talk to John instead.
“Hey” John grinned as I walked over “Where is the new bride?”
“Off for a run” I laughed “I don’t know how she does it”
“She used to do it as a coping mechanism. Hopefully when we win this war she might calm down a bit”
“Hopefully” I sighed as I glanced over and saw her stretching with Chistina “She is going to kill her” I chuckled as I nodded my head towards them.
“I hope not” Nick sighed as he walked over to join us “Christina is just upset that she does not get to train with me. I can get it as I wish I was with her too, I worry about her when I am not with her. I just want to keep her safe, you know”
“I think it’s good that she is willing to train with Jess to improve” John told him as we all watched them set off. At first Christina was trailing behind and we could all tell that Jess was getting pissed off.
“Maybe I should go and save her” Nick sighed as he went to go towards them, but John grabbed him and pulled him back.
“Just wait” He told him “Jess knows what she is doing”
We all turned back to see Jess grab hold of Christinas hand as she ran. Poor Christina had no choice but to run to keep up. I thought that Jess would just run a short track to ease Christina into it, but I was wrong, she ran the long track, and poor Christina was getting dragged along by the end of it. They stopped to do stretches and Nick ran over to them while John and I went back to the barrack. Everyone else was already there sat in the floor in a circle talking. John and I went to join then while we waited for Jess to come back in with Christina and Nick. As soon as Jess came in, I moved over so that the three of them could join us. I pulled Jess into my arms and kissed her neck. Now that she had finished it meant that now I was going to make sure that she relaxed. Soon enough Jess was telling everyone to hit the hay as we had a big day of training tomorrow. I watched her go and fill up Romeo’s water bowl while I climbed into our bed and laid down to wait for her. As soon as she climbed in, I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her against me.
“I love you” I whispered in her ear
“I love you too” she mumbled before her breathing evened out and I knew she was out for the night.
I laid watched her sleep, she looked so relax. My eyes adjusted to the dark, and I looked around me to everyone else who all looked like they were also asleep. I could not blame them, but if they thought today was hard then tomorrow would kill them.
