Chapter 100 Chapter 100
Jess’s POV
Everyone started laughing well apart from Kieran he did not seem so happy. I gave him a neck rub to calm him down. We drove on for another 15 minutes before we finally pulled up outside a community hall. Kieran helped me out of the van and held me back while everyone else went inside.
“Hey, why can I not go in?”
“You can in a couple of minutes. Here let me distract you” He pulled me into his arms and started to kiss me. After a couple of seconds, I was completely distracted. He could have kept me outside kissing me all night and I would not have minded one bit. Kieran pulled away and looked into my eyes. “You my love are way too easy to distract”
“No, you just have a certain way of distracting me that always works”
“And you love it. We should be ok to go inside now. Kieran took my hand and led me through the front door of the hall. I gasped as we entered the whole hall had been set up in hot pink and bright orange.
“Wow” I managed to stammer out “Why? What is all of this?”
“Well, I love you and I thought that you would like an engagement party, oh and I also thought you might like an engagement ring too” Kieran reached into his pocket and pulled out a black velvet ring box. He got down on to one knee and opened the box. The ring was perfect. It was a princess cut pink diamond with two clear diamonds down each side. Kieran slid the ring on my finger.
“Oh, Kieran its perfect” I gasped “Oh my god I sound like an air head”
“Jess you are allowed to let yourself go and be a girl sometimes. I am glad that you like the ring now come on and let’s enjoy this party” Kieran pulled me on to the dance floor just as the band started to play. I love to dance, and I loved a guy who did not have to be drunk to dance with you. We dance for 3 songs straight but then I had to pull away as I was starving.
“Am sorry but I really need to eat” I gave Kieran a kiss as I walked over to the buffet table. I could not believe what I saw. Kieran had arranged for all my favourite treats. He had popcorn, Jam sandwiches, Crisps, mini spring rolls, hot chips and so much more. I grabbed a plate and grabbed a couple of jam sandwiched and some crisps. I opened the jam sandwiches and put the crisps in between the slices of bread.
“That is one of the things that will always confuse me about you” Kieran had come up behind me
“What?”
“The fact that you always put crisps in your jam sandwiches. It’s very odd”
“Yes, but it tastes so good. You should really try it before you knock it” I handed him my other sandwich
“Fine but make note that I would never do this for anyone but you” He took a bite of the sandwich. At first his face showed a look of disgust but as he chewed some more it started to relax. He finished him mouth full and just stared at me.
“So, what do you think?”
“I really hate to admit this, but you were right. This is good” Kieran reached for a plate and made himself another jam and crisp sandwich. I had to laugh at him as I grabbed a couple of spring rolls and some chips. I sat in one of the chairs around the side of the hall and ate as I watched my friends and family dance around. Kieran came and sat down next to me. “So, are you enjoying the party?”
“Yes. Thank you for this and the ring. I love you so much” I nuzzled up to his side. He put his plate on the table next to him and put his arm around me. “So, what are the plans after the party?”
“The party is a long way from over Jess. It has only just started” Hayley appeared out of nowhere and put a drink in my hand. It was green with bubbles, so it had to be Midori and lemonade.
“Thanks. I am guessing that there is no way that I am leaving this party sober huh?”
“Nope no chance in hell, so my best human mind reading friend you better drink up” Hayley bounced off to carry on dancing before I had chance to argue. I smiled as I watched her dance and I drank my drink. I had just finished my drink when William appeared in front of me.
“Jess my love you look delicious”
“My thank you William”
“I brought you a gift to congratulate you on your engagement to the shifter man” He winked at Kieran and handed me a big box wrapped in shiny silver paper, with a huge gold bow. I untied the ribbon and opened the box. Inside was the fanciest coffee maker that I had ever seen.
“Wow William this must have cost a packet. You didn’t have to get us anything”
“I know it’s also a thank you present for putting up with Hayley and Oscar. You of all people should also know that Hayley is not a nice vamp on a morning if she does not have her coffee”
“That is very true. Thank you. It’s great”
“You are very welcome. I hope that you both have a long and happy life together”
“Thank you. That’s a really nice thing to say”
William bowed to me and then walked away to talk to my parents. I put the box to one side and went to join my friends on the dance floor. I still had some of my drink left so I took it on to the dance floor with me. Every time that I finished a glass one of my friends would replace it with another full one.
