Chapter 59 Harper Must Die
Aria Davis's POV:
Blood gushed from Harper's chest, and I dug my nails in deeper, staring at the crimson flow.
"No, please! I don't want to die," Harper clung to my claws, begging pathetically.
She didn't want to die? What about Grace and Emma? Did they deserve to die?
Harper's father and Jason killed my mother. And Harper took out my most important partner! She had to pay for it!
I slowly dug my nails deeper into Harper's chest, causing her to cry out in even greater agony.
"Don't do this, I beg you! I don't want to die. Please spare me," Harper gritted her teeth, enduring the pain as she pleaded.
Her current state was exactly like mine when I begged Jason to spare my mother.
But when did these high and mighty nobles ever care about my mother's life? When did these self-righteous, damned beasts ever feel sorry for Grace?
I felt my nails touch the beating heart.
Good, as long as I pulled out this heart, Harper could go to hell!
I wanted her to repent in hell! Repent for the atrocities her father committed against Emma and the harm she did to Grace!
"Go to hell, you fool!" I grabbed her heart as I cursed. Just as I was about to pull it out, a sudden sharp pain in my hand made me let go.
"Aria, you can't do this." Noah stood at the door, panting, looking like he had rushed over.
I pointed at Grace's broken body and roared, "Why not? An eye for an eye, Harper deserves to die!"
Noah frowned, walked to my side, and helped Harper up from the ground. "Owen, get someone to treat her immediately."
'Does this damned Noah not understand what I'm saying? Harper must die here today; no one has the right to save her from me!'
I blocked Owen's path. "She must die!"
I was sure if there was a mirror in front of me right now, I would see my face full of murderous intent, like a vengeful demon crawling out of hell.
Owen hesitated, looking at Noah for instructions.
Noah sighed. "Aria, I know Grace's death is hard for you to accept, but Harper really can't die here!"
"Why?" I gritted my teeth, staring at Noah's face.
Noah rubbed his temples, looking very impatient. "Right now, you're just a slave. If you kill a noble, do you know what you'll face?"
Hearing that, I burst into laughter.
In his eyes, I would always be a lowly slave, who could be bullied, humiliated, and even killed by anyone!
And this ruthless Harper. Because of her noble status, Noah saw her as a treasure that must not lose her life at any cost! How ridiculous. I actually thought he genuinely liked me, that he really didn't care about hierarchy!
Seeing me laughing uncontrollably, yet with tears streaming down my face, Noah's expression became very complicated. "Aria, I know you're very sad and angry right now, but can you listen to my explanation?"
Noah tightly grabbed my wrist, giving Owen a look. Owen nodded slightly and immediately helped Harper leave.
I shook off Noah's hand, watching Owen take Harper away. As their figures faded into the distance, my heart turned to ice, and I shifted back to my human form. "There's nothing to talk about. Get out."
Noah stood there, stunned, not moving an inch.
I punched the cabinet beside him, shouting with all my might, "Don't you get it? I told you to get out! I never want to see you again! Get out!"
Noah grabbed my hand, checking the wounds from the punch, carefully wiping away the blood. "Rest up. When you calm down, I'll explain. Don't hurt yourself anymore."
With that, he left.
Then I let go of all my strength, slowly sliding to the ground.
'God, why are you always so unfair? When will you open your eyes and see?'
Looking at Grace's cold, broken body, I felt all my strength drain away.
I crawled towards Grace with all my might. Even though the distance wasn't far, it felt like I crawled for a century. When I finally grabbed Grace's hand, I felt a bit more at ease.
"Don't be afraid, Grace. I'm here with you, always with you." I placed Grace's hand on my cheek, completely letting myself lie on the ground, closing my eyes.
I was so tired.
Noah Brooks' POV:
Owen found some info about the hot spring. Based on that, I searched outside for a long time but still made no progress.
Then Aurora rushed over to tell me something had happened to Aria.
My heart seemed to skip a beat, and when I came to my senses, I was already running home.
To be precise, I was running back to the estate.
I didn't know when it started, but I subconsciously began to consider that estate as my home.
Maybe it was when Aria moved back into the estate.
Even when I was swamped with work every day, I never forgot that Aria was waiting for me at that estate. This feeling was very mysterious, and I liked it.
But when I rushed to Aria's bedroom door, I saw Aria was about to dig out Harper's heart!
I absolutely couldn't let her do that!
"Stop! Aria, you can't kill her!" I shouted, stopping Aria's actions.
Aria looked at me in disbelief, as if she couldn't believe I would stop her.
Aria pointed at the body on the ground, which was unrecognizable, and shouted at me, "Harper killed Grace. She must die, I want to kill her!" I remembered that slave. She used to live in the same room as Aria. They were very good friends.
But Aria didn't show their closeness in front of others. I thought it was because Aria knew her personality easily offended people, so she deliberately hid her deep feelings for Grace.
I could imagine how painful Grace's death was for Aria, but Harper absolutely couldn't be killed by Aria!
If people found out that Aria killed Harper, the Blake family would hunt Aria down for generations! Even if Colton didn't like Harper as much as others thought.
Aria was just a girl with no support. How could she possibly resist the entire Blake family?
