Chapter 95─Bruce gets rescued
Bruce was surprised. It happened so quickly that he wasn’t quite sure about whether he should celebrate.
“Are they really here?” he asked himself when he heard the scuffle outside.
It seemed as if his pack members were there. He could hear and identify some of the voices which were speaking with authority as they argued with his captors. He could also sense it in his bones. He could feel the blood in his veins begin to flow faster in his excitement.
“Now I’m going to find out who decided to abduct me. I wonder if they demanded money and from who,” Bruce muttered to himself as he kept his eyes on the door.
“Perhaps I should hide behind the bed, just in case they come in with a violent scuffle,” he told himself. He then moved to crouch behind the bed as the voices came closer.
Bruce tensed up more when he heard the key turning on the outside of the door.
“They said that he’s in here,” someone was saying.
“Where then? The room is empty,” someone else commented.
Bruce recognized their voices. They were members of the local pack! They had managed to come through for him.
He then stood upright and his eyes lit up when he recognized the faces of the pack members.
“I’m right here,” he called out.
“Oh, great! They didn’t lie,” one of the men commented.
“Good to see you alive! Come let’s loosen those ropes from your wrists,” the man continued.
“I could have torn them off but it would have been no use to alert them about my power. They would just have found a way to tie me up even better,” Bruce responded. He was grinning from ear to ear in relief.
The pack members untied him and gave him a hug and a pat on the shoulder each.
“So, where are they now?” Bruce asked, his eyes stretched wide with eagerness to get his revenge.
“We overpowered them and they somehow ran away. Some of our men chased them down while we got the keys to open this door and come in,” the other man responded.
“So, they ran away because you’re not policemen,” Bruce remarked with a frustrated sigh.
“And of course, we couldn’t shoot at them. That would put the police on our backs for taking the law into our own hands,” the first man responded.
“So, did they say what they wanted?” Bruce asked as they walked out of the room.
“No, they mysteriously didn’t have any demands when Tony asked them. It’s almost as if they did it for fun or just wanted to scare you,” the first man responded.
“I’m really hungry for proper food, strange enough. I’m relieved to be rescued, but I’m also really hungry for a proper meal. I think that I will focus better then,” Bruce responded.
“Yes, you will need a good shower followed by a proper meal. We’re going to track these guys down, don’t worry,” the first rescuer responded.
“It sounds as if it can only be Jean who’s trying to avenge me for ignoring her. She must have found out about the fashion and music shoot that Mishka and I had. It was too popular to be ignored,” Bruce told himself on the inside.

Back at home Bruce found a sealed envelope waiting for him on his dressing table when he came out of the shower in relief.
“What is this? Are they now making demands through a letter after I’m freed?” he asked himself as he stared at the envelope.
He was not sure about touching it.
“What if it’s a letter bomb? But, why would they want to kill me if they didn’t ask for money when I was in their grips?” Bruce asked himself as he began to select some comfortable clothes from his wardrobe.
“Perhaps I should let the police handle that letter. I must first find out how it was delivered though,” he mumbled to himself.
He was almost completely dressed when another though struck him.
“But, what if it’s a letter of demand this time? What if they kidnapped someone in my place?
What do these people actually want?” Bruce asked himself as he walked over to the dressing table again.
“Or can it be Jean giving a hint that she was behind everything? That will really p*ss me off,” he muttered to himself.
“But, what if it is a letter of ransom and they’ve captured someone else? Maybe one of my relatives or one of my models? What if they captured Mishka?” Bruce thought with his brain racing.
“No, it’s not good to wait for someone else to open this. It can’t be a bomb. People or wolves who want to negotiate won’t send a bomb,” Bruce muttered as he tore the envelope open with trembling fingers.
He quickly read what was written in bold gold letters on a white card.
“An invitation to a fashion show in Milan, Italy? Who are these people? And all travelling and accommodation expenses will be paid?” he responded out loud.
“It sounds really good because they’re inviting both myself and Mishka, along with my models for a fashion and music show. So, Mishka should sing there too.
I wonder if she got the same invitation?
Let me first find out if this place exists, though,” Bruce decided at once.
He picked up his tablet from his bedside table and researched the place on the internet.
“So, this company does exist. I will let my public relations team work it out and set us up. But, only if Mishka agrees. This will be a good break for her,” Bruce muttered with a slow smile spreading across his face.
“Let me call her up,” he decided. He was breathing fast from the excitement of the moment.
“Hello, Mishka? I have some exciting news for you,” Bruce began as soon as Mishka answered her phone.
“Oh, did you hear about that? Oh, I’m sorry that you had to be disturbed by news like that, but I’m totally alright now. I don’t have a scratch on me,” Bruce responded after Mishka questioned him.
“Yes, it was an ordeal, but it seems to have been a prank. Anyway, I have good news for us, business-wise,” he continued with a broad grin on his face.
“Oh, were you really shocked about the news? Oh, I think that they shouldn’t have told you,” Bruce responded after listening to Mishka for a short while.
“Wow, you had a dream about the whole thing? Will you come over for a meal then you can tell me about it in person then, please?” Bruce asked with his eyes narrowed in concentration.
“So, Mishka has powers to see into what other people can’t. I never would have expected that,” he mumbled at his image in the mirror after the end of the call.
