The Heart
The Heart
Alea’s POV
We held a burial for valen as I had said we would, and I was finally able to let go of the guilt that had built up in me. The guilt that I had brought about the death of the young boy. Nothing had changed, the fact that he died because of me doesn’t change, but what matters at the moment is that I was able to send him off in a proper way and the fact that I would be continuing his legacy which is the reason why he became a warrior, to avenge his parents.
Sage, Raven, the white haired man who we all call Elder and I were in the meeting room trying to discuss.
“What do you intend to do now?” The Elder asked me. I thought about it for a while before deciding to talk.
“I will wage war against Alucard, and this time, I will make a plan that won’t make us lose anyone dear like we did with Valen” I said, and I couldn’t fathom the meaning behind their unreadable gaze.
“I will leave it to you to plan things out your way, Phantom Queen. But I will make sure they give the new refugees the intense training they need in preparation for the war” The Elder said with a slight bow and I smiled. Even the Elder showed me the respect they’d give to a Phantom Queen. They believe that I was the Phantom Queen.
“Yes Elder, please do so” I smiled at him and then remembered to bring up the discussion about the first step I’d like to take in order to get to Alucard.
“Alucard’s controlling power” I paused, “I need to find out what it is and how to get it destroyed” I said, my eyes darting between the three people in front of me.
“Do you mind getting into the details?” The Elder asked and I nodded, explaining to him how she had been controlling Kairo and how she had used her eyes to control those beasts.
He took in a deep breath and leaned back into his chair, making me convinced that the old man knew something about the power I was talking about.
“The Obsidian Heart” He said, and that made me squint my gaze, while Raven leaned closer to the table, surprised.
“Elder, don’t tell me………..” Raven asked, but didn’t even complete his words. I was sure only Sage and I were the only ones who weren’t understanding what they were talking about.
The elder faced me once again, his gaze now laced with concern.
“That’s the power of the Obsidian Heart” He repeated. Yeah! I’ve heard that, but just what is it that got the both of them so surprised.
“It is a relics that’s capable of controlling the mind and the body movement, this relic is one of the relics that used to be kept inside the relics room of ours, but unfortunately, it was stolen” He explained, and my eyes widened in shock.
“Stolen?” I asked, I was so engrossed in the story he was telling that hearing about it getting stolen shocked the hell out of me when I don’t even know why.
“The Obsidian Heart apparently can’t be taken out by just anyone except the high priestess at the time” He further said.
“So you mean the high priestess took it out?” Sage asked and then Raven was the one who gave us a reply. It was a story that both the Elder and many other who had been here for decades knows.
“The high priestess was threatened and had to take it out with a sword glued to her neck as well as her newborn baby” Raven explained.
“Baby?” I asked, wanting more clarification on that.
“Yes, the high priestess had a baby at that time who was also taken by the masked people who threatened the priestess. And now we are just realizing that the person who took the Obsidian Heart is no other than Alucard.
“So, how do we make her lose the power of the Obsidian Heart?” I asked, now becoming so interested in how to get Alucard.
“For her to be able to use it, she would have dropped her drops of blood inside the chamber pot and she would have had the high priestess bury the Obsidian Heart which is just like a chamber pot inside the ground. For her to lose the power, we would have to get the Obsidian Heart back into the relics room” The Elder further explained.
“Then let’s go get it and let’s get Alucard!” I almost screamed out of the excitement that the way to get through to Alucard’s first power wasn’t that hard.
“The only person who can touch the Obsidian Heart is the only descendant of the high priestess which I’m sure Alucard would have killed years ago when she acquired the power of the Obsidian Heart.
My jaws dropped, my heart shattering into pieces. Why? How? How absurd does it sound that the only person who would be able to bring the Obsidian Heart out is a descendant who was believed to be long killed by Alucard.
“What happens if someone who wasn’t a descendant of the high priestess touch it?” I asked, gulping as I said that. I knew without being told, that it would be a consequences one wouldn’t be able to handle, for Alucard to use devious means to get the controlling power out, it must means she couldn’t have her way no matter how hard she must have tried.
“Death” The Elder said, and my heart raced.
“The person will die almost immediately. We’ve had a case like that before” The Elder said, making me swallow hard.
“We will go to Alucard, find out where the Obsidian heart is buried, and I will take it out” I said, each words slower than the other.
It wasn’t a suggestion but a decision. My mind was made up and not even the thought of death would make me say otherwise.
