Chapter 39: Competition
Chapter 39: Competition
Emily raised an eyebrow at this and said with a smile, "Aren't you the same? After latching onto Adam, you thought you'd hit the jackpot, but little do you know that in Adam's eyes, you're probably no different from a plaything!"
Vivian let out a cold laugh, lifted her head arrogantly, and looked at her provocatively, "Stop talking nonsense. I know you're just jealous that Adam treats me well!"
"Adam and I are in a normal relationship, completely different from a slut like you!"
Emily said disdainfully, "I am indeed different from you. After all, I don't have the habit of breaking up other people's relationships, stealing other people's boyfriends, or being a homewrecker. At least I'm not that terrible."
"You! How dare you call me a homewrecker?!"
Vivian angrily pointed at Emily and shouted. Emily shrugged, "I didn't say that—you admitted it yourself."
"But I have to say, that's something worth acknowledging. At least you have some self-awareness."
Emily's smile was cold, her eyes indifferent.
Vivian had repeatedly schemed against her and tried to harm her in secret, so naturally she wouldn't give her any kindness.
The reason she hadn't had others deal with Vivian was to let her face the consequences of her own actions.
And before Vivian paid the price for what she'd done, she might as well let her enjoy this feeling of triumph for a while.
Vivian looked at Emily resentfully and snorted coldly.
"I can't be bothered to waste my breath on you. All you can do is win some verbal battles. How are you any different from those boring gossips?"
Emily couldn't be bothered to argue with her either, and just left her with one sentence, "The person who starts trouble first is the one who needs to take responsibility. I wonder if you understand that."
Vivian became even more furious at this and got straight into her race car.
After sitting in the car, she looked at Emily in the distance, and suddenly her heart turned vicious. She slammed on the gas pedal, turned the steering wheel, and drove the car straight toward Emily!
"Go to hell!"
Vivian screamed in her mind, her face twisted!
At that moment, an all-black race car suddenly shot out and blocked Vivian's car. The two cars collided with a heavy thud.
The two cars crashed into each other hard, and people around immediately ran over.
"Jack!"
Emily rushed over and pulled open the car door to see that Jack's arm in the black race car had been cut, with a wound that was bleeding.
"Jack, are you okay?"
Emily asked anxiously. Jack shook his head, "Just a minor injury, nothing serious. Good thing you're alright."
At this point, Vivian also got out of her car and glared at Emily and Jack angrily, "Are you sick? Can't you drive? Why did you hit me?"
"You're the one who was blind and trying to hit someone. Don't you know what you did? And you still have the nerve to yell at me here. Why don't we pull up the surveillance footage and let everyone see who has bad intentions!"
Jack didn't back down, his expression fierce as he scolded her.
This Vivian really did have bad intentions—she actually tried to run Emily over with her car!
If he hadn't happened to be here, Emily would have really suffered!
"Vivian, you've gone too far!"
Emily took out gauze and alcohol for first aid and treated Jack's wound, bandaging it while glaring at Vivian angrily.
Vivian was getting more and more crazy. This time she had even hurt her family member, and she was furious.
But Vivian was very dismissive and said sarcastically, "This is just how I am. What can you do about it? But Emily, you're really something—always surrounded by men. Look, it's only been a few days and there's already another man by your side. Can you really not live without men?"
"Vivian, you're such an idiot."
Emily felt that even scolding her was a waste of her time. This Vivian simply had no brain.
She didn't want to deal with Vivian anymore and focused on bandaging Jack's wound. Fortunately, it was just an external injury and not serious, otherwise they would have had to go to the hospital right away.
"What's wrong? Emily, did I hit a nerve, so now you're feeling guilty?"
After treating Jack's wound, Emily stood up and said coldly, "Didn't you just want me to race against your simp? I agree."
"You're serious? Fine! I want to see just how capable you really are!"
Emily raised an eyebrow, "Sure, but since it's a race, there should be stakes, right? If I win, you have to apologize to me!"
"Fine, but if you lose, you can never appear in front of Adam again!"
Vivian shouted loudly, and Emily agreed without hesitation.
Now it was a win-win situation either way.
Jack looked at Emily with concern, "Emily, please be careful."
Emily nodded slightly, then opened the car door and got into her red race car.
Meanwhile, Sean, the man beside Vivian, also got into a gray race car. The two cars drove to the starting line together, and with a loud sound, they both shot forward.
"The red car is falling behind!"
"The gray car has such strong momentum."
Vivian looked at this scene smugly, "I knew it, that Emily doesn't have any real skills."
Jack was also watching the race on the track, but he wasn't worried.
Although Emily was behind at first, he knew Emily well. What she was best at was building up strength and striking at the right moment!
Sure enough, after a while, Emily began to use the terrain to her advantage and her excellent skills to catch up.
She quickly closed the distance with the gray car, and the two cars chased each other, the distance seemingly getting closer and closer.
Vivian immediately panicked. If this continued, wouldn't Emily overtake them?
Her heart tightened, and she shouted directly into the earpiece, "Emily! I know you've never been able to let go of Adam, but he only loves me!"
Jack suddenly looked at Vivian, suspicious, "Is Vivian deliberately bringing up Adam to mess with Emily's mind?"
Emily heard Vivian's voice and obviously realized something. Her eyes rolled, and she deliberately slowed down.
Seeing this, Vivian was delighted and immediately raised her voice, "Emily! You're a loser! You'll never be able to take Adam away from me in this lifetime!"
"You think you're so great just because you can drive? Actually, you can't even get a glance from Adam, because his eyes only have me!"
