Chapter 34: Carried Away by Success
Chapter 34: Carried Away by Success
The investigation was indeed fast. In less than three minutes, Jack had already received a reply. "Mr. Hart, we've found out that the person spreading rumors is Vivian. She paid someone to create the videos and photos, and she also directed public opinion to attack Ms. Hart."
"Good, very good, it's her again!"
Jack wasn't surprised at all. Vivian had repeatedly targeted Emily, all because of that bastard Adam.
Did she really think Adam was some kind of treasure that everyone wanted to fight over?
Emily had already woken up in time and would never waste time on that scumbag again. Unfortunately, this Vivian still wasn't clear-headed enough. She hadn't realized it at all and even thought Emily wanted to compete with her!
Jack took a deep breath, suppressing his anger. It really wasn't worth ruining his mood over such a shameless person.
"Mr. Hart, what should we do?"
What to do? A mere Vivian wasn't even worth his personal attention!
However, daring to hurt Emily was absolutely intolerable!
Just as he was about to give orders, he remembered what Emily had said before. "Never mind, don't worry about it for now."
Emily was also aware of what Vivian had done and naturally wanted to deal with her, and Emily wanted to watch her face the consequences of her own actions.
So Jack decided not to get too worked up. Being too hasty might ruin Emily's plans.
But he couldn't just let those things continue to spread either. Obviously someone had beaten him to it and was already handling it. After thinking for a moment, he guessed it must be Noah.
At least he showed some care. His protection of Emily was indeed admirable.
"Just letting her off like this seems a bit unsatisfying."
Jack sat on the sofa, casually muttering to himself, and simply gave an order.
"I heard Vivian's mother owns a company. Let's start with her. A small punishment as a warning—we definitely can't let them off easily."
"Understood, Mr. Hart, rest assured."
The person on the other end quickly hung up. This person was also one of his trusted aides, capable and very competent.
Soon the person executed the task, and Vivian's mother, Nola Hope, quickly faced retaliation.
That day, Vivian was taking Adam around shopping when Nola called.
"Mom, what do you want? I'm busy right now!"
"Your heart is getting wilder and wilder. You don't care about me at all!"
Vivian complained impatiently, "You're an adult too. You should be responsible for your own affairs. Why do you bother me about everything?"
"Enough! I'm telling you, someone's targeting me recently! My company has faced a lot of attacks and lost a huge order. Hurry up and help me figure something out."
Nola was anxious and urged her.
Vivian was even more annoyed. "Come on, Mom, that little company of yours is just a small family workshop. You probably offended someone again, right? Try to handle it yourself first."
"If I had a way, I wouldn't be calling you! Damn it, hurry up and help me figure something out!"
"Mom, listen to me. I'll help you look into it when I get back, okay? I really have something very important to do right now!"
Vivian couldn't help but try to comfort her. She was really worn out by Nola. If she didn't make things clear, wouldn't she just keep being bothered?
"What do you mean? What could be more important than my business?"
"Let me tell you, I've already won Adam's heart. I'll soon become Mrs. Blake! By then, no one will dare offend you—they'll even come to flatter you! Mom, trust me. You'll be Adam's mother-in-law soon!"
Hearing this, Nola immediately asked suspiciously, "Really?"
"Would I lie to you? Mom, I have to go now. I'm traveling with Adam, and he's waiting for me up ahead. I'm going to find him!"
She hung up and hurried to catch up with Adam.
"Who were you just on the phone with?" Adam frowned and looked at Vivian.
"I was on the phone with my mom. She said something happened at the company and wanted to ask if I could go back. I said I'm out doing something right now, so it's not that easy to go back."
Vivian sighed, looking somewhat tired. "Even though I'm a girl, I bear huge expectations from my family. They seem to place all their hopes on me, which puts a lot of pressure on me."
After hearing this, Adam's frown gradually relaxed, and he felt some sympathy for Vivian. She was indeed pitiful. How could such a small frame bear so much?
"You've had it tough, Vivian. Let's shop a bit more and then head back early. Then I'll go with you to see your mother."
Adam comforted her gently, once again feeling that Vivian was such a gentle and strong girl—so much better than Emily.
Vivian quickly nodded, leaned into Adam's embrace, and smiled smugly.
She hadn't expected Nola's call to have such an effect. Adam clearly appreciated her even more. This was really a good thing.
On the other side, after hearing Vivian's words, Nola wasn't anxious anymore.
"That's right. Once Vivian successfully marries into the Blake family, what do I have to fear? Who would dare offend me?"
She was immediately overjoyed and went out with a big smile on her face.
"Nola, what's the good news? Why are you so happy today?"
"It's nothing much, just got a call from my daughter."
Nola smiled so much her face was full of wrinkles. Anyone could see she was in an exceptionally good mood. "You know the Blake Group, right? Vivian has won over the president of the Blake Group. The two of them are dating now, and Vivian said in a few days she'll bring Mr. Blake home to see me."
"Coming from such a big family, there are so many rules. I'm worried about not hosting him well."
"Really the Blake Group? That's a famous big corporation. Vivian is really something!"
"Exactly. When she was little, I knew she'd have great achievements."
A group of people looked at Nola enviously. Nola's vanity instantly exploded. She smiled and waved her hand. "It's not that exaggerated. It's Mr. Blake who has good taste and took a liking to Vivian. Vivian is worthy of it."
"I heard that Mr. Blake is very devoted to Vivian. Now I can rest easy. No one will dare cause trouble at my house anymore. Otherwise, if they dare offend the Blake family, they definitely won't have a good ending."
"Exactly, exactly."
Everyone laughed and agreed.
Not far away, an elegant woman in a green dress stopped in her tracks and turned her head slightly to look over.
