Chapter 45: Strong Bond
Williams POV
I walked towards the door to know who was there. I was so sure I wasn't expecting anyone. As I got to the door to my surprise it was Erica, my sister.
“How did you find out I'm here?" I asked, surprised to see her.
" All this while, I knew you were up to something, so I had my eyes on you.” She said,
I stood in the doorway, not letting her in.
"What? Why are you not letting me in?” she asked. “I know that look, you're here with someone, right?”
She pushed me aside, then walked in.
“I knew it." She said as soon as she spotted Amelia. “I'm I missing anything?" Erica asked, raising her eyebrows.
“What brought you?" I asked, again.
But instead Erica works further into the room, she wasn't having any of it. Though, her eyes never left Amelia's face. " Is it wrong for me to visit my brother?” She asked, patiently waiting for my response. “I was just here to see you but I'm happy I stumbled on something interesting."
Amelia stood up from the couch after sensing the tension. “Hey,"
"Hi, Amelia. I'm I missing anything?” Erica asked.
" Nah, you're not.” Amelia said.
Erica smiles as she continues to gaze at Amelia. I was on show on how to navigate the unexpectedly turned event.
“I might as well join you guys since I am here already." Erica said, sitting on a couch.
I sat on the couch watching Amelia and Erica having a great time together. I thought Erica would react, seeing Amelia in my house but it seems she was cool with it.
I was surprised when I had Erica asking Amelia about our future. “Are you willing to stay with him despite what is going on?" She asked.
" Yes, we're going to take things one at a time. Though it won't be easy, I'm ready to stand by him.” Amelia said.
Erica laughed. “This is so interesting, I'm certain for sure that you guys will figure it out."
The conversation didn't stop, it continued with Erica the most of the talking. I felt a sense of gratitude towards my sister as I listened. She had just shown up unannounced in my house, and now yes she is being supportive, if no one had known as before one could say she was my elder sister.”
Erica stood up stretching her arms as the evening wore on, “I think I will get going. It was great catching up with you guys." Erica said.
Amelia stood up and hugged Erica tightly. " It was great catching up with you too.”
I felt a sense of relief as Erica left. Well I didn't feel so bad because the unexpected visit turned out to be okay.
“I must say, you have a very supportive sister." Amelia said.
"Always bring the one acting like the elderly one. Don't mind her tough exterior, she's always nice to those she cares for.” I said feeling a sense of gratitude and pride towards my sister.
“Well, I can see that." Familiar seed smiling. “I must say, it was very nice catching up with her, you should tell her to stop by often."
" I will pass the message to her.” I said.
“I'm glad you have someone like her in your life."
“I'm also glad I have someone like you." Williams said, smiling.
"Do you think I should head home?” Amelia asked, looking up at me with a curious expression.
I was a bit disappointed that our evening was coming to an end. I thought Amelia was going to sleep over.
“Do you have to go?"
“I know right, I don't also feel like going but I don't want my mother to be worried."
I knew she had to go home. I appreciated that for the time she had spent with me.
I stood up from the couch ready to work out of the door.
A sense of contentment washed over me as I walked out of the house. The evening had turned out to be a great surprise though it was unexpected. I was happy though, having Amelia in my life made me share my ups and down with her.
Just when we're about to leave the door, I held Amelia back on her waist, “You can't just leave now, I'm going to miss you.”
“So are you insisting I stay back for the night?" She asked.
"I wish you could.” I said.
Amelia placed her lips on mine, it was so deliberate and slow and then her fingers curled slightly and her hand slid up to my shoulders, then the kiss deepened. The chill of the evening faded for a moment which was replaced with warmth between us.
Amelia's eye searched mine when we finally pulled away. Actions were unreadable and soft. “I was actually planning to stay but I don't want my mother to be worried." She said, her voice above a whisper.
“I brushed a strand of hair behind her ear, " sometimes, plans can change."
“Me staying back means something, doesn't it?" She smiled.
"Sure, it does.” I nodded, not thinking for an answer.
Amelia played with the hem of our sleeves while looking down. There was a familiar spark in her eyes which says I'm here to love. I could see that as I met her gaze.
“I'm staying." She finally said.
I quickly pulled off my shirt, threw it onto a nearby chair. I could see Amelia's eyes following my moves. Something deeper charged between us. Though the tension was palpable.
Her fingertips trailed through my skin as she placed her hand on my chest. “That was so fast." She said, with a playful glint in her eyes.
“I have no time to waste, you know that." I grinned.
She smiled. The sound of her laugh, wrapped around the room, which was like a melody. She held my hand, not saying a word and then she led me back inside.
The night was open and quiet. It stretched ahead of us, no questions or rush, just a shared love of two hearts that was willing to explore something tender and real.
She then let go of my hand before wrapping her arms around me. I stood there with her, without saying a word. I watched her sway her waist to the music I had put on.
“I want us to do this forever." She whispered in my ears, her voice barely audible.
“It won't end." I said. I then brushed a strand of her hair from her boobs.
Looking at her eyes, all I could see was truth, no games and no walls.
