Chapter 41: Sneaky Moves

Williams POV

I quickly took my car keys, I had moved into the small neighborhood where Amelia lived but she had no idea I was living around there.

I wanted it to be a surprise but I thought it wasn't the right time to surprise her. Amelia had just left home, not sure of where she was going.

I pulled away to the driveway, after driving for a while , I caught a glimpse of Amelia walking down the Street. It was obvious she didn't know where she was going. I quickly followed her, putting my car in gear. I made sure she didn't know I was following her.

Looking at her face, she looked so determined. This made me wonder what she was up to.

My curiosity piqued as I trailed behind her. I passed some unfamiliar shops and landmarks as I drove through the street. I noticed she started walking slowly, observing closely, she stopped in front of a bus station.

Still observing, she looked around, making sure she's not being watched. She then boarded a bus, and watched as the bus pulled away from the curb.

“Why was she taking a bus again?" I really want to know what was going on.

I then dialed Amelia's number quickly. I drove slowly, following the bus. She didn't pick up.

I decided to drop her a message. “Call me back if you see this message, I'm worried, where are you going?”

I was uneased. Following the bus from a distance, so I won't be seen. I felt she was not telling me something, a feeling she was running away from something, not just because of her mother. I had to know what it was. My mind raced with different possibilities as 8 trailed behind the bus. “Could it be that she's running from her past? Or was it because of me?" I muttered.

The bus suddenly slowed down, stopped at few more stations where it picked passengers. My anxiety continues to grow as I kept following the bus.

Amelia finally got off as the bus pulled into the city center. To keep the distance safe, I quickly followed her on foot, while I car.

She was walking so fast, her eyes still scanning the crowded street. She slowed her pace before walking into a small cafe. I thought if it's a good idea, following her into the cafe but I felt I might get embarrassed by her if she doesn't want me here with her in there.

But I found myself walking towards the cafe. As I got there, I slowly opened the door, to my surprise it was a big cafe. It was looking small while looking at it outside. It was crowded so I don't know if I was going to see any sign of Amelia.

I turned towards the left, while still looking around. Just then, her spotted her sitting in a corner. She looked nervous and was sipping on a cup of coffee.

The way she was glancing at her shoulder I suspect she was waiting for someone. I made my way to the counter, making sure I didn't drew any attention.

“Get me a coffee." I said to the barista, sounding casual.

I sneak glances at Amelia as I patiently waited for my coffee. She looked scared and vulnerable, this made me wonder what she was running from.

While I was still waiting for my coffee, a young man walked towards where she was sitting. With the look in his eyes, I knew he wanted to hit her up. I wished I could stop him but didn't know how I was going to do that. .

I took my coffee and walked towards a table, making sure I wasn't seen by her.

I should atleast hear what the man wanted to say.

“I'm John." The young man said, stretching his arms for an handshake.

I noticed she didn't pay much attention to him.

“You're here with someone?" He asked.

I tried to blend by taking a sip of my coffee. My eyes never left Amelia's direction. I wasn't hearing anything they were saying again. Seems they were now talking in a hushed tone.

Trying not to be so obvious, I edged closer.

“You're so beautiful, you're here alone?" The young man asked.

I was pained as I listened to their conversation.

Just then, I noticed Amelia just noticed me staring. I turned my face elsewhere, hoping she won't notice it was me.

Just then I saw her standing right in front of me. Our eyes met and for s moment we didn't say anything to each other. The tension between us was palpable, it was funny how we just stared at each other.

“Tell me exactly what you're doing here  you're now a stalker?" Amelia asked, her expression turning cold.

I thought I could play it cool but she fixed her gaze on me. I could see her angry face. “Just came here to get a coffee." I said, showing her my cup of coffee.

“Don't dare lie to me? You knew I was here right? Why were you following me?" She asked, the expression on her face was just as if she knew me so well, so she wasn't buying it. Looking at her, I didn't know how much to reveal.

“The truth, you want to know huh? I followed you down here.”

"Why will you do a thing like that?” She asked, angrily.

“I was worried, you were not picking my call."

She sighed. She looked like she was about to bols though her expression softened.

“Who is this." The young guy who had approached Amelia earlier asked.

I wondered why he had followed Amelia. What was wrong with him.

“And who are you to ask her that?" I asked angrily.

“You just said you were here alone? Were you lying?" John asked, his eyes locked onto Amelia.

“Does she owe you any explanation? You just met her." I said angrily, not allowing Amelia to say a word to him.

“Who the fuck is this guy?" John asked.

“Are you raising your voice at me? Huh?" I was moving towards him but Amelia placed her hand on my chest.

“You should stop." She said with a low voice.

That made me to calm down a little. But when I saw John trying to hold Amelia by her waist, I quickly pushed him, which made him fell to the floor.

“Oh my goodness, did you come in here to embarrass me this way?" Amelia asked. She had no idea what he wanted to do.

“Don't see it that way. He wanted to—”
